Yet another exploit found and VHBL port in the works by Xerpi

Hello All,

As more developers/coders start finding more vulnerability on the PlayStation Vita, more developers are working on VHBL Ports and/or new exploits on the hand held. Xerpi twitted on his page he has found a new user mode exploit on the Vita and it only took him 10 min to port VHBL to it. Again Wololo, NeuR0n and Xerpi are holding the exploit and not releasing it until they think it’s ok to be released. Here are some screenshots from Xerpi’s exploit.

    Will CFW ever be released…? VHBL is great but it’s just like playing a PSP and there is defiantly limitations. It will be so nice whn you can copy that PS Vita game right in the PS Vita directory…

    Great !! The more the merrier ! I like having VHBL on my VITA , Emulators and Homebrew run great . And the bigger screen definitely makes the emulators look better to me .At least NEO-GEO ,CPS1 and CPS2 anyway .I hope they are able to find an exploit for every FW version . Having PS1 support and VHBL would be awesome .

    I hope that if a CFW ever gets released , it doesn’t allow iso’s . Most games already install to the memory card , so what would be the point other than pirating .

    From what I know and have been reading no CFW are made as of yet. Besides User Mode and Kernel Access only to the PSP side of the Vita but nothing for the Vita Kernel.

      yeh they have basically hacked the psp1 on the vita good luck to them but i think it will take longer than expected

        Do you guys know if these PSP1 hacks on the vita give full access to CPU or just CPU usage what the psp1 emulator within the vita uses????. So basically we get homebrew on the vita but it only runs at PSP1 speed cpu wise?

        It runs 333mhz max since it only hacks the PSP software inside the vita.

        yes good luck to the hackers with the vita if its anything like the ps3 security we maybe looking at a few years wait before we get full access to the cpu isos etc etc etc these PS1 hacks are good but they are security of yesterday

        If it takes a few years for hackers to crack it all is good has it allows the device to launch correctly developers make there profit for the games they make and there are lots of great games available

        simply pulling apart a new OUTSTANDING gadget like the PSVITA could possibly KILL IT and make developers think twice about making games for that device has everyone will download it for free so if it takes a few years all is even better

    i have a psp, i hacked it so could download and play game in .iso, now im thinking on buying a vita, so what iwant to know is, with this VHBL can i run .iso games?, my psp hack is called “psp genesis competition”.

      As of yet no only Home-brew and certain emulators.

    Thats not what we want, playing classic boring games on a miracle device such as vita which we played over and over. We want at first a CFW (not for piracy), we want flash player, we want third party apps, we want to skype while gaming, we want to port games from ps3 or pc, we want more games, COD Battlefield for Vita. Not this bullshit. Vita earns more then he gets. Why is everone so obsessed about playin a SNES game on this strongest handheld device ever made. Tell us to be patient, its more than six months the device is out, hackers need money? You ask we provide. We just want this!!!

    4 not allowing to play PS2 and PS1 games on VITA by default without any hacking…. SONY can kindly suck on my balls becouse I am not buying VITA while it does not do. It seems that SONY even doesn’t care 4 their own profit. I can imagine VITA sales if u could play SANANDREAS or other outstanding PS2 titles on the go. And don’t tell me that VITA can’t handle 12yo consoles games. I can only c this as marketing to make us immidietly buy overpriced ( yea still don’t get why ps3 games cost as mutch as portable ones) games and anyways there r litterly only few PSVITA games on the market. And of course not to mention horrable pc suit application. Still don’t get it how there r so many defenders of OFW because PSP was hacked soon enough after lounch and it sold well enough as well as it’s games no matter what loud of shitfuck most of them were, actually i can count games i liked on my 10 fingers, and PSP CFW didn’t crush their sales just because those were good ones and people were ready to pay 4 them to get some more. In conclusion CFW is like returning birthday gifts u don’t want or exchanging them for ones u like. THE END.

    This is a waste of time, the hacking team should just scrap this project and do something with their lives, unlike video games WE DON’T GET 1UPS once our lives are done its over. Therefore I suggest they should stop this hacking nonsense, they will learn sooner or later that making a cfw for the vita is impossible and even if it were possible it might end up like how the ps3 or xbox360 is?( Ps3 and Xbox 360 are hacked but if caught with a modded console, you are banned from playing online) I don’t know about you guys but I do not want to have to buy another vita in order to play online. And of course lets say that games like COD or Battlefield make it to the
    vita and the vita itself has been hacked with a cfw. Now think about it
    if the vita is hacked, eventually someone will somehow make some kind
    of application like cwcheat that will enable cheats to be use in game play and if such application would be use for a game like COD,
    WOULDN’T THIS BE LIKE COD4 ALL OVER AGAIN?!?!?! This just doesn’t apply
    to games like COD as well, it applies to any game that has a online
    multiplier function such as UMVC3( Imagine you’re fighting a person
    online with a hacked vita that has a cheat that allows their character
    to not lose health). Plus what happens if the later games that are going to be releases needs the vita to be at a certain update in order to play? Wouldn’t we have to wait again for some kind of a patch from the hackers just to play a pirated game? And what if Sony patches the exploit again? Sorry but I rather go and BUY the game and support the developers than wait months or maybe years just to play a game that came out months/years ago. Think about it, this isn’t worth the wait, I bet that if they ever do come out with a cfw wouldn’t it be on a older firmware and a down grader probably wouldn’t come out for a long long time. Trust me on this when I say that they should stop this hacking nonsense and move on with their lives doing more important things that can help them.
