VHBL Game Pulled from PSN + VHBL release today

Share

Motorstorm Artic Edge was pulled from last night somewhere between 12am – 9am GMT from the EU servers. Sony freaked and pulled it jsut based on ’s post. So they do watch our sites of course. Not sure why they freaked out so much. This allows user mode homebrew. Not ISO’s or CSO. Nothing to danger the security, well only its PSP Emulator due to an exploitable save game. Well I hope the ones that want on there Vitas managed to download this. Sony will have the game up again soon I imagine, but patched. So it will be useless to .

Speaking of which Wololo has posted he will be releasing it sometime today. So ready for some weekend homebrew fun on your PS Vita!

It would have been quite entertaining if Wololo lied about which game had the exploit and sony pulled the game early. I wonder if they could get in some sort of trouble for doing that…

No doubt, Sony would sue him for damages or something stupid like that if he did a Hoax

Actually I kinda expected this but still cannot understand why they did it

how dumb are they? if they would have left the game for about a week or so they would have gotten a lot of profit

Lots of profit at the expense of lots of potential piracy.

potential piracy? it wasnt even potential piracy on the psp

Who ever has the game should use content manager put it on there pc and Rar or zip it so everyone can have it if that possible

Well isn’t it obvious why the pulled it out? Homebrew did lead to ISO/CSO. So obviously they would have pulled the game out ASAP and get it patched. Also, this isn’t exactly ‘legal’ to tamper with their system and do something which isn’t Sony permitted- I don’t think any type of hacking on Sony’s system is allowed, well it does say something along those lines in their user manual.

Profit? The designer/company who made the game would get more money, not Sony itself (they would get a slight fraction only).

    Anyways, my question is:
Why can’t I just buy the game cartridge of a game store, surely the stores won’t remove all of motor storm games to get it patched.

It is perfectly legal to hack a game system. You own it so you can do whatever you want at your own risk. The only illegal thing is if you pirate games

That’s exactly what everyone does here though and anyone that says otherwise is a liar. Even with emulators you’re playing roms of games you most likely don’t own anyway. Just because they’re old games doesn’t make it legal. Once a system is hacked to run “backups” it hurts the developers. It’s better to support the game developers by buying their games so that they can keep giving us great content.

    • Trust me, I’m a lawyer.

Hacking a system to get the most out of it (like original xbox’s, which have no live support): AWESOME

Hacking it for free games: They are a multibillion dollar company. IDGAF.

It’s very legal. As long as YOU aren’t the one putting the links UP for OTHERS to download, you’re fine.

Good, I’m glad they took it off, hopefully they will patch it so that these tryhard fanboys can try to hack it.
