Unofficial CFW 5.50 Prometheus-4 & 5.03 Prometheus-4 released

5.50 -4 released.

An anonymous source has released  CFW 5.50 Prometheus-4 & 5.03 Prometheus-4. These releases apparently play the latest 6.36 Firmware games. However some Japanese users are reporting its causing some games to freeze up on them. Mainly MHP 3rd. Since this is not a release from liquidzigong it maybe more buggy or just a quick fix by someone. Remember that Liquidzigong just quit the scene, see this: hrimfaxi aka liquidzigong quits the PSP Scene

Since the source isn’t from av9g.com were aren’t really supporting this release. Like always, were not responsible if this bricks your PSP. However the download is below…

    to avoid game freezing disable all plugins and install prom 4
    then it will not crash
    and also update from prom 3 to get a stable prom4

    I’m sorry but this is terrible. I just chucked that PSP out the window….Stick with my 3000 ofw…..I still have Prom-3 on my 1000 though

    Works fine for me, Updated from 5.50 prome-3 with plugins enabled. Now 2 hours into MHP3rd and not a single problem, even downloaded those 2 quests.

    Not to be rude or anything, but could we get better verification that this works, before there’s a whole bunch of angry psp users? I have a PSP 1000 5.50 Prom 3 and a PSP 3000 ofw 6.31 and I don’t want to hurt them……Could the verification come from a known /trusted name?

    this prome-4 works fine……just before you upgrade on prome-4 just be sure you disable all your plugins and no themes running…

        probably the best choice is to get your pandora battery out again & start fresh
        if homebrew works still, I prefer Hellcats Recovery Flasher to a pandora battery

    Hey guys, I cant play mhp3 eventhough I updated my psp to 5.03 prom ,what is the problem ? izzit my psp system or the game prob ? each time I on mhp3 ,the screen will go back to the start menu and writes (game could be started 80020148)

      this happened to me with patapon2 i used hbl on my psp cus i thought i needed it for twisted download (but u dnt, btw) wen i installed prome3 wat i think fixed my problem was i copied everything in the UPDATE folder to the memstick root 6.xx moduals the PBP’s everything and it worked. if u still need help try this if nothin could b the game. to verify this was for prome3 not prome4

    This is messed up. I have Prome-3 and once when i played valkyria cronicles and i exited out and tried playing Ys, my prome crashed. now wheever i try to go back to prome-3 through gen it always asks me to patch it up again and whenever i do it and get to prome-3 Ys crashes… again. :P
    any help?

    I downloaded this for my PSP 3001 and its not version 4 it is still version 3? Anyone have the same problem?

      Yes, if you first downgrade to 5.03 using PSARDumper and then install 5.03 ChickHENr2. At least, I was able to do that with Prome-2 today… (6.20 TN-B > 5.03 + ChickHENr2 > 5.03 GEN-c > 5.03 Prome-2) It depends on your motherboard though, I don’t think you can downgrade on certain types. I believe TA-090v2 and below works though. The thing is though, since the PSP keys have been found pretty soon the whole downgrading thing will become irrelevant, so if I were you I’d stay at 6.20, at least you’d save yourself from accidentally bricking your PSP that way.

    I cant play NSUNH3 on this, Bleach, tron and even tekken works, but only Naruto does not, any ideas how can I play naruto? I have a psp-2000 with a TA88v3 mobo running hen r2, gen-c, and this prome 4 on 5.03

    I installed this on my PSP-2000 (non-TA88v3) and I can’t say that it’s flawless at all. True, it can play MHP3 but every time I turn on my PSP, it refuses to start up. Not even the Sony Entertainment part shows up. I try to turn it off but it doesn’t respond and so I have to resort to pulling the battery out. Then I have to end up taking the memory stick out and turn it on. Once it loads properly to the XMB interface, I have to turn it off then insert the memory stick then turn the PSP on again because it can’t read the memory stick whilst it’s on. Strange method but it’s the only way that works out for me.
    This never happened when it was on Prome-2 or 3.
    Hopefully a more refined version will be released soon. :)

    Hi, I have upgrade CFW from 5.5 Gen D3 final to Prometheus 4. I finally not get an error from running MH3rd. But it freezes at the loading screen!!? How did u guys manage to play it? Im having psp slim 2001 Mother board TA-085. Pls help T_T

    Hey how can i downgrade it from prometheues 4 to prometheues 3V2? Just run it direct or wut? How can i back to 5.5 gen D3? Couldnt play MH3rd anyway :(
