Its been a long time since PSPUAE was updated (Over two years!), but its never too late and the Commodore Amiga emulator just got a boost with AGA chipset support. I’m a huge fan of the Amiga. PSPUAE is still a bit flakey in AGA, but its a step in the right direction. So games do run quite well, but AGA ones will be quite slow without sound. Normal adf games run find using older chipsets.

If your not even aware of the Amiga, then I guess you weren’t an 80’s child. The Amiga was “the” computer to have back in the late 80s and early 90s. Way ahead of its time, it had some of the best games to date. Cannon Fodder, Shadow of a Beast series, Pinball dreams, Silkworm, Turrican series, Lotus series, Speedball etc etc.. Many of the Amiga’s games are now also being remade as PSP mini’s

If your also into the great music the Amiga games had why not checkout Amiga Music MP3’s (AmigaMusic.com)

Source: PSPUAE

Tips:

You need a working Kick Start rom version 1.3 to run most games. Name the Rom KICK13.rom and place it in the Kicks folder inside the emulator. Adf game disks do in the disks folder.

These emulators come highly recommended by us. Basically you have perfect arcade emulation of Capcom CPS1 and CPS2 arcade games like 1941, Mercs, Dark Stalkers and Street fighter II and with MVSPSP, near perfect Neo Geo arcade emulation for games like Art of Fighting, Metal Slug 2 and Samurai Shodown etc

P.S The above youtube video I recorded doesn’t do the emulators justice. Because remotejoy lite uses some 25% or more of the PSP’s power to run the video output. On your PSP its as quick as the real thing. Apart from Metal Slug series which the real life SNK Max Gear Mega pro-spec arcade machines couldn’t handle either….

[+] Bug where you couldn’t have more than 200 roms in the ROMS folder or the emulator would crash is now fixed. (I tested with 800 roms in there)

[+] Bug where the emulator would freeze then hard-power-off your PSP after trying to load more than 3 roms is now fixed. (I tried loading rom after rom at least 12 times with no issues)

[+] Bug where you couldn’t return to the menu after running a game is now fixed. (thank god lol)

[+] Bug where emulator would hard-power-off PSP when exiting rather than return to the Xmb is now fixed (both in file menu and main menu)

[+] Bug where the emulator wouldn’t start on Gen firmware fixed (tested by myself on 5.50GenC and Cmbeke on 5.50GenB)

[+] Possible minor speedups from code cleanup.

[+] Removed the intro screen for now. (will be configurable in the next build)

[+] Added the latest version of the snesadvance.dat file (Adds more speedhacks)

To get the best performance use the following settings:

Render : PSP Accelerated
Frameskip : 3 (frameskip @ 1 seems to be sufficient for most games to play at 60fps)
