The tool advertised to be able to hack the PSP-3000. This answer came just after Portable Video Gamer asked Datel why the Lite blue tool was removed and later the description changed.

Datel’s response:

Due to legal action by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe we are currently not able to fulfil orders for the Lite Blue Tool Battery. Any orders received for this product have not been processed and no charges have been made. We will inform customers about availability of this product when this situation has been resolved.

So why is Sony taking Datel to court? Purhaps Datel did infact crack the PSP-3000 and natually Sony wish to put a hold to it. Maybe copyright infringement? What do you think?

Datel out of all people have “cracked” the PSP-3000 and booted it with a new TOOL battery.
Compatible with the PSP-2000 and 3000, it goes for $19.99 in the UK and $29.99 in North America late this month.
BUT! There’s a catch. This battery doesn’t actually install CFW on your PSP.

From Alek:

1. To have a LED indicator ON, doesn’t means that you can install cfw or hack anything. Remember 088v3 mobos? Right.
2. It’s spreading like a timebomb that it can be hacked and so on. Well, what any user can see is an interesting campaign to promote an article that is not yet released. It would be interesting to see.. how about an old “hello world” like on Noobz time, instead of a “buy today” call?
3. Just to remember all this things up, LED indicator ON and nothing on screen means directly what Dark_AleX explained here about the preIPL.

So, don’t be tricked by another scam by Datel to steal your money kids!.

Thanks for the tip, Naruto.

Remember Datel’s Action Replay for the PSP? Upon inspection by Dark_AleX and VoidPointer, it appears that the $40 device actually contains the IPL used in Pandora within the supplied memory stick.

Datel’ Action Replay does uses code that isn’t from itself, code that isn’t distributed to be used the way they use it anyway. The code involving this terms is, for first instance, the Pandora forged IPL block, and on second place but of course not less important, Booster’s IPL SDK.

Datel doesn’t seem to give any credit to the original Pandora developers at all.

Here’s some more interesting things to note; from Alek’s blog:

It has been confirmed that Datel’ Action replay does interfere on the Custom Firmware code

They use a bigger memory footprint due to the graphics involved in it, and it’s interesting also to mention that they had a pretty small database, that being compared it to cwcheat one, this first one isn’t even a database tbh.

So what do you think?
I suggest sticking to CWCheat for those who have CFW.
