Eboot patcher, patch games to work with 5.00 M33.

Ok so your still on 5.00 M33-6 and want to play some of your 5.50 or 6.00 UMD games on your custom firmware? Well now you can with mc707’s Eboot patcher. It basically works the same as Yoshihiro’s 5.55 & 6.00 games decrypter but for custom firmware 5.00 M33 and CFW 5.03 MHU

OK here’s how it works, First you need to open up your ISO you made from your UMD. Extract the games eboot. Use Yoshihiro’s 5.55 & 6.00 games decrypter V2 then patch the game eboot with this patcher and rebuild your ISO with UMD Gen 4. And your done. Enjoy your purchased 5.55 or 6.00 firmware game on your Cfw 5.00 M33 PSP.

PSP Custom Firmware 5.00 M33-6 Released

Dark_AleX has released Custom Firmware 5.00 M33-6. This same update is DAX’s attempt to correct the low speed Memory Stick issues that has been somewhat of a problem for some users since 3.71 firmware was released.

PSP CFW 5.00 M33-4 Released!

Dark Alex has released PSP Custom Firmware 5.00 M33-4. CFW 5.00 M33-4 brings various bug fixes as well as a new shut down option from the VSH menu. Great for quickly turning off your PSP.

Changes:

- Speed selected for umd/iso was not properly locked in some new games that used scePower_EBD177D6 instead of scePowerSetClockFrequency to change speed.
- UMD/ISO speed settings now apply to PSN games too.
- Fixed libupdown.prx connecting to dark-alex.org instead of sony when npsignin_plugin checks for a new version and m33 update is enabled.
- Iso file descriptor was not closed in driver deletion
- Added a shutdown command to vshmenu.

Quick to fix the introduced bug in M33-2 DAX has released 5.00 M33-3!

* A bug was introduced in 5.00 M33-2 that made some games and homebrew to not work.
* PSN version check is now automatically bypassed without the need of touching any settings.

5.00 M33-3 to be released today?

Word has it DAX is aware of the bugs present in 5.00 M33-2 and we can expect to see a release asap of 5.00 M33-3. This relates to the PSP Store bug which is still present and ISO / UMD troubles some are having. The update will also include a PSP store bypass plugin.

Dark_Alex has released custom firmware 5.00 M33-2, this is a bug fix release which fixes bugs found in the previous 5.00 M33 release. The changelog is below:

* Popcorn bug fixes
* Fixed bug that caused some games with certain icons not to work, and caused document.dat not to work.
* Fixed critical bug that caused continous corruption of psx games in RAM.
* Core bugfix: Fixed sctrlKernelSetInit* functions not working.

PSP Pandora Deluxe v2.4

DJB has updated his mulifunction MMS maker to version 2.4.

The brand new 5.00 M33 Custom Firmware Installer has been included in this package, it can be installed via Hellcat’s Recovery Flasher in Pandora Mode (the easiest way), or by using the official installer by Dark Alex via your XMB. If you install it via the XMB, I advise to install 4.01 M33 first, this can be done by using DC7 to install 4.01 M33 to your PSP.

Recover Flasher v1.40 by Hellcat

Hellcat has updated the ever useful recovery flasher to version 1.40.

The version brings about the ability to flash to 5.00 M33. Here’are the other changes:

• Added native support for installing a fresh 5.00-M33
• Added option to cache the special modules from all updater .PBP currently on your memstick.

The modules are saved seperately and – if present – used directly instead of extracting them from the required updater (again) when performing a restore of a backup.
This way you can save space on the memstick by deleting the updater .PBPs if you don’t need them otherwise.

1.50 Kernel add-on for PSP 5.00 M33 fat owners

Dark_AleX has released his 1.50 kernel add-on for older PSP “fat” units (PSP-1000’s) that are running 5.00 M33. This update allows PSP fat users to run older 1.50 kernel homebrew.

PSP States - updated for 5.00 m33

Dark_AleX has been busy today, with 5.00 M33 released he now brings us an updated PSPStates plug-in which now supports 5.00 M33. As the name suggests PSP states is a PSP save state plug-in that brings save state support to your PSP Slim 5.00 M33. Only the PSP Slim is supported as it has the extra 32 megs of RAM needed to run this plug-in, so don’t try this on your old PSP fat….It won’t work.

Dark_Alex's fix for the PSX error in 5.00 M33

Dark_Alex has posted a solution to users who are experiencing error 0xFFFFFFFF while trying to load PSX games.

This is a bug in M33 code that is caused sometimes with certain icons.
I’m not gonna bother do an update only for this but I’ll post the file that fixes this for anyone wanting to fix it manually replacing the file.

This also fixes document.dat not working.

There is also a work around either by use the original command line PSX conversion tool or you can just select the “Old Default” icon in the options in PSX2PSP.

5.00 M33 out now

Its only been a few days and Dark_AleX has released Custom Firmware 5.00 M33 at lightning speed.

Apart from the obvious firmware number change (see below), this update comes with a bug fix.
Dark_AleX:

Bug fix: when changing speed in xmb, and the psp turned the brightness to 0 automatically the speed was reseted to 222 again.

The readme also mentions that users of the save state plug-in will have to wait for an update due to problems with compatibility.
