Sony to support “Garage” aka Homebrew developers on the PSV!

This is shock, its never to late. And with a new PSP comes a new start, but its it enough? SCE chief, Shuhei Yoshida has said Sony willsupport garage (homebrew) development as they call it and aims to have the PSV dev kit at an affordable price. But Sony is encouraging developers to make touch-only games that are dominating the smartphone games market.
“As an industry, we have to support those smaller teams, and let them try out their ideas,” he told Develop.
“Without doing so, the whole industry will stall, in terms of innovation.”
And Yoshida claimed the PlayStation Vita, Sony’s successor to the PSP, has been built to be as easy as possible for developers to use.
“It is small and light and easy for developers to handle,” he said.
“We made it so the development kit wouldn’t be too expensive.”
It all boils down to just how affordable a PSV dev kit would cost. A few grand won’t be in reach of homebrew developers. If Son was wise they should send out a few PSV dev kits to the PSP Genesis Compitition winners!
