Sony releases Media Go version 1.40

Share

Sony has released Media Go version 1.40. Which most PSP Go users would be using, unless your still on 5.70 and only using the (HBL) to play some basic homebrew.

This Media Go release features a new option, whereas you can download PSN content without your PSP Go being connected. Something that annoyed me and really it should have been like this from the start. If your downloading over 1GB of data it can take a while, but instead of being able to use your PSP Go you had to leave it connected in USB mode, well no more.

If your a US user there are also many new TV shows, music and video added to the library. So thats a bonus.

Media Go version 1.40 changelog:

  • PC users in the United States with a registered PlayStation Network account can access and download a rich library of entertainment content from PlayStation®Store, including more than 20,000 popular TV episodes and movies in SD, as well as original entertainment content such as the PlayStation Network reality series, The Tester™. Video content downloaded for rental or purchase can now be played on the PC* and/or transferred to the PSP system to be taken on-the-go.
  • Media Go can now queue up multiple items for download from PlayStation Store at one time.
  • PSP users can download games and entertainment content to their PC without having their PSP connected (this excludes Themes).
  • Downloaded content is transferred into each category of Media Go for convenient organization and management.

P.S – Still no Official 6.30 firmware update from Sony, odd isn’t it? You would think they would want to patch the recent Save game data exploits.

Not exactly.Sony is waiting for a kernel exploit. When it is released, sony will patch it.
Instead,if they choose to patch the user mode exploit, the new firmware will be also vulnerable to a kernel exploit that may be found using the user mode one.

I think Sony is giving up in stopping us homebrew community or they are still looking and patching any loop holes and exploits.
Sony will eventually leak the magic ms and from what I’ve heard the service tool is external(means another special device from Sony plugged into the PSP with a software to cut the ipl and unbrick .
The hackers and modders homeland (Philippines).

I think that they are too busy with the PS3 hackers! :D

    @papison

i’m from the PH too. i think ur talking about the PANDORA BATTERY and an MS that has mod apps in it.

    • papison

No, I wasn’t talking about the Pandora Battery.
Someone from the Sony repair department in “Manila” said they can Unbrick the PSP 3000, but it is totally different from the Pandora battery solution.

The memory stick slot was plugged by a special cable to the computer and the SERVICE Tool battery was different not like pandora or datel’s battery.
A magic memory stick with a cable attached at the very end, and a whole new service tool battery.

Sony is not as concerned with the modding of the psp software for personal use, its the Pirating and “in-game” hacking that gets under their skin. Microsoft is going to prevent hackers at all possibility because me and others as Xbox live cust. are paying for it, so we expect a good service. I can guarantee you, if we had to pay for PSN use, their would only be just a handful of hackers for both ps3 and psp put together. But Sony’s reasoning is “well since we are providing free online, we are not going to monitor or wear ourselves out trying to prevent coders” Its all about the money in the world we live in……i love having a modded psp, but i dont have the right to use that to hurt others online expierience…..SONY will one day learn, especially when they see *cough, cough* Nintendo beat them out. LMAO!

i just freeze haxers when i see them hacking

LOL that works too, that was the only hack i would keep for FTB2, that slot boot…..see that hacker, and poof there gone lol

So, Sony, when’s the *nix port coming? I’d love to be able to use the psn store on my macbook, either in osx or linux. We’re part of the market too!

On a side note, anyone know if this runs under Parallels VM? I don’t plan on partitioning again…just for bootcamp.
