Sony Ericsson Xperia Play is official. Full Announcement due 13th @ MWC

Well the (called the ) has finally been announced with the above commercial. I have to admit its quite a creepy advert. But effective… What do you think? I wonder even if an ad like this would even be legal in some countries? Sony will be releasing more details come this Sunday at the Mobile World Conference (MWC 2011) in Barcelona.

FYI, The MWC is going to be huge this year. Samsung is rumored to be announcing a dual core Galaxy S successor and LG will also be demoing their Optimus 2X dual core Nvidia Tegra 2 Mobile phone…Both of these phones are seriously powerful units. With the Xperia Play also on the cards, picking your next mobile upgrade is getting even harder.

So we will let you know exactly what this phone can do. Maybe its only able to play PSX games or another Xperia only format of games. support would just make me want to snap up one of these puppy’s. As it combines Android with the Go controls all into one good looking package. Something I have been after myself for a while. An Android phone with physical controls. Real gamers don’t like or use touch screens controls….right?

    I hope…I really do hope this will have a PSN store and PSP ported games. That would just rock. Finally I can also play my PSX4droid PSX emulator without those crap touch screen controls. Of course all other droid games should work just fine. Still its a hard choice. An LG Optimus 2X or Samsung Galaxy S2 with 8mp with 1080p video, dual core cpu and hdmi out. Or physical gaming controls and a nice high res screen the Play will have.

    hope the hackers will come to an end with the PSP 2000/3000/GO and start looking into these two new devices: from Sony. The Phone has good chance of hacks with its semi-android platform. Don’t know about the PSP2 but keep commenting up guys. – SamirPC.

        Yeah this will surely be hacked or jailbreak…Just need the encryption keys. Whoever finds those they should leave their names unknown to the public lol…Upload the files on some remote private server. The PSP and PS3 hacking/modding scene has come to a stand still or a “silent era” since the quake in Japan…Anyone realized that or is it just me?

    The whole internet seems to be dumb. Theres no Xperia play. WTF there is already an sony ericsson xperia so why release it again? Just stupid and u guys belive in this. If sony makes this then they are completly out of their mind. Atleast finish PSP2.

      for starters, they have finished the psp2, they call it the psp ngp

      second of all, its just a new version of the xperia, theres an xperia x10 and a xperia x2 now theres a xperia play

    Sony Ericsson for music and for photography, finally they make one for gaming… This is not going to compete with the NGP anyways… NGP specs are hardcore…

    True real gamers don’t use a touch screen to play and control games…My PSP 1000 went through “hell” and I don’t wanna fix it cause it will end up the same way as it is now lol…Made up my mind to put aside some money for that “badboy” android/gaming portable cell phone system…Can someone give me an estimated price in US dollars…And which phone company will it be on? Verizon or T-Mobile/AT&T

    Just an idea if it ends up being hacked (which it will be months after being released)…”Finger print protection app” lol…
