Snes9X Euphoria R4 Released

Homebrew developer has been busy working on his projects for the Neo 2010 Coding Competition. His latest release is a much anticipated update to his : 9X Euphoria. Along with various fixes, Zack states that 9X Euphoria R4 play most games at full speed & supports most roms. Here is the changelog:

– Changes in this version :

- Rendering Rehash – Speed Up.
- Function clean up – Small speed up.
- Fixed Memory stick read error.
- Various fixes

Issues

If you click load new game and the game just sits on a black screen… Click the home button again then press “reset snes”.

If you fancy yourself a bit of SNES emulation, you should definitely give R4 a try. It’s definitely one of the best emulators out there, SNES or otherwise. If you like this emulator as much as I do, feel free to visit the NeoFlash 2010 Coding Competition website and vote for it!

    SNES emu’s on the psp are always great. So many good games you just can’t go wrong. And one that works well and will play Megaman X – X3 is c’est magnifique to me. Btw IGN has this article http://psp.ign.com/articles/111/1114500p1.html on PSP 2 info.

    This isn’t working for me, for whatever reason. I tried to put the emulator in both the GAME and GAME150 folders. They show up, but I get stuck at a black screen (without selecting a ROM, even). Nothing works, not even the home button.
    Never had trouble with gpSP. Also, I tried different UMD ISO Modes, but nothing.

    Any tips?

      which CFW are you running. diffrent UMD iso mode have nothin to do with the SNES emu. only thing i can think of is try to re-download the file and make sure its in the GAME folder. i never really did the GAME150 folder. didn’t really do anything different from the GAME folder.
      if your using HBL on a pspgo i don’t know if it would work for it. i didnt even try it on my HBL since the one im using works great as is with tweaked settings.
      but it works great on my psp phat

        I’m using Prometheus V4 5.50, upgraded from GEN D3.
        Redownloaded, even from different pages. But oh well, guess I can live without SNES on the go.

      Running 5.00m33-6 and this emulatore does not work, just get a black screen and a system crash with it.

      The only plug-in I have is popsloader.

    Yeah, not working for me either. I have a PSP 2000 with 5.00 M33-6. As soon as I load the emulator, it freezes at a black screen and then shuts off.

    I found the problem. It’s not compatible with GamesCategories.

    what exactly did you do to fix it I downloaded this and transfered it to my psp slim 4.01 cfw and it worked the first time and i was going to try out megaman x3 i loaded it and crashed just how you explain so mind telling me what it is to avoid people asking the same thing…

    nvm fixed that problem i just put it in the game150 folder
    cfw 4.01 would die of boredom if it wasnt for all the great people who dedicate time for all this

    either this or Ultimate VSH Menu Final has f*cked my psp up when i turn my psp on it just goes black i recon it was this though because when i tried this emulator the same thing happened

    Nice to see progress on SNES emulation, but this does not work on my PSP 3000 with ChickHEN and CFW Enabler 3.30. When i start the emulator, the screen goes black and then the PSP crashes.

    if you’re having problems running this on 5.03 gen-c
    you might have to uninstall the latest ultimate vsh menu.

    this kept crashing my psp. someone above mentioned the vsh menu and they were right.
    im not sure what causes the crash… maybe a setting could be changed so they can both work together… but uninstalling the ulitmate vsh released recently will allow this emu to work.

    Didn’t work for me, got a blank screen, & now my psp won’t boot up.
    Someone help me, I’m on 5.50 GEN-D on my slim, do I fix it through the recovery screen?
    forgot how to load that if so, haven’t used my psp with this stuff in a while.

      if youre on full cfw then you hold one of the triggers as you boot up the psp.
      if you cant boot.. im not sure what you can do. pandora????

    Wow, I will be sticking to the previous version of this emulator, Psp Slim 5.00. This emulator not only Runs most games slower, but most games are now choppy for me and have choppy graphics, Yes I’ve changed the Graphics Engine and i wont be increasing Frame Skip because I diddn’t have to do it before, Thank you for a sorry update, and also, the new menu? Trash plz revert back to original.

    whats up with this?? he’s trying to enter the neo 2010 competition and this doesn’t even work on CFW 5.00m33-6.. i mean, not to be a dick about it.. but whats up with this?? anybody have a final solution on how to fix this or get this running?

    i figured it out.. the download link is jacked up.. says 0 KB.. but all the files are in the folder.. i just downloaded it from the source and it works like a dream!

    okay so i put my foot in my mouth.. spoke too soon.. now it loads up in the /GAME folder, but it doesn’t detect the Snes9x_Euphoria folder or any of its sub folders inside.. which means i can’t find any roms!!! don’t know why this is hapening!! anybody?? someone said to disable “game catagories” but i don’t know how to do that.. i never installed that plug-in anyways.. and if it’s already on mm-6 cfw then i don’t know how to locate it in the “recovery menu” via configurations.. so any help would be gladly appreciated.. unless this release was useless and there are still bugs!

    this version just bites man, super hard, stay with the version you had before trust me, theres more sound bugs and graphical glitches on this than roms you can load, believe me, for me LTTP wont even play correctly, not much less an small ass game called Troddlers.

    Well… I have a psp 1000 so I should be able to run ANYTHING lol cfw is 5.50 Gen-D3 and when I a tried to run this on my psp a blank screen comes up and my psp crashes xD … atleast im not having the problem that some of you are where your psp won’t turn back on O.o but yeah this emulator was released too early Zack I would pull this one back if possible

      I tried to run this on my psp a blank screen comes up and my psp crashes.fixed it by putting (s9xTYL congfiguration file) from the older version of Euphoria that was working for me its suppose to auto create it for some reason its not

        i tried that also.. i got it to load up, but the roms are still not showing up.. they also said to put roms in individual folders and not all in one folder would work, but nothing.. i hope this guys find’s all the mistakes he made on this release and makes a re-release with all these minor bugs worked out..

    Works very well on my Slim with Prometheus 5.50 and Final VSH. Only problems I’ve encountered so far is that if I set the CPU speed to “default” in the VSH and 333mhz in snes9x it runs choppy like crap, but if I turn the VSH cpu speed to 333 oh my … totally different and so smooth! Next problem is when I save or load a state, sound stops working untill I reset the rom. Anyone else having this issue?

    For anyone still confused on this;
    Works on prometheus-2 (prometheus im sure as well) as long as you have game catagories disabled and just in your Game folder only

    I know this may sound absurd but try this, this worked for me :
    Copy “s9xTYL.ini” from the R2.1 directory and copy it to the R4 folder.

    I know that this is just an ini file and it should be created automatically by the program but for some reason, without copying it manually it doesn’t start R4 for me either.” found this fix over at retroemu.com credits to cosmic

    When I go to launch it, my psp shuts down while generating the rom list. When I first installed it and tested it with a single rom I loaded it worked fine. Now I loaded the rest of the ones I have. Is there a limit to how many roms it can handle?
