Second DaedalusX64 Beta 2 Video

Update 03/02/09 DaedalusX64 Beta 2 released!

Check out the latest Beta 2 video, as you can see its shaping up mighty fine. Very smooth looking compared to the first N64 emulators. This is a preview of revision 306 which is a debug build from the team’s subversion repository. Wally says the released date hasn’t been set, but its going to be out soon. But only when its ready.

To be honest i don’t see any real difference from the first beta. Its still to slow and jumpy for me. Of course you can prove me wrong by releasing it already.

This emulator is just barely starting to take off. I know it is hard to believe, but look at the progress that they have already made. They have done what many considered to be the impossible. I am currently on build 307 and it is amazing. Super Mario 64 was not playable at all on Daedalus R14 and now look at it. Just so you know, it has been like that since just a little after they released beta 1.

If you want to download and compile your own alpha builds, go to http://www.daedalusx64.com

I would post a build, but it is not allowed. Go there. There is a really nice tutorial for it that anyone can follow.

the latest beta build was posted on qj.net a couple of days ago but it was pulled shortly after, I got the chance to download it and I tried 3 games, Mario 64 worked perfectly, Smash bros was like 10 fps, totally unplayable, and wwf no mercy didn’t even start :/
I think they want to make sure everything works fine before officially releasing it which is understandable, what they did with mario was really amazing and tbh I dun care much about N64, I just want zelda and pokemon stadium ^_^

Well to all those who had no clue like myself.. once you install custom firmware you have to reformat the memory stick for your programs to run properly. now my question is why when i play the roms they seem to run super slow and they don’t show up on the screen until i press a variation of buttons or the select button first? do i have my firmware setting wrong or do i need a faster memory card? i’m using a sandisk memory stick pro duo 4gb and my cpu speed is set to cpu clock xmb 333/166 and cpu clock game 333/166. can someone please help!
