5.50 found?

We resisted posting this one yesterday. But its not been proven fake or otherwise. So we’ll post it. But take it with a pinch of salt. German user Miche2245 has found a save game vulnerability in Firmware 5.50. Apparently Monster Hunter Portable 2 (JAP) and Need for Speed: Underground (ENG) are the only reported UMD games to be working at this stage with the save game exploit.

If your on and have Need for Speed: Underground English UMD, why not download the exploit and give it a go? Once the exploit works (if it works) You can then load up and Custom Firmware Enabler 3.5. After all that work make sure you just put your PSP into standby mode. Oh and do post us some solid proof this works!

    well 50% people said that chickhen r2 is not working but it is working perfect.. so don’t leave pessimistic comments.. i am sure that it will work and that it is not fake.. but cfw enabler 3.5 installs 5.03 M33-6 and this is 5.50(?!) and chickhen r2, it is for 5.03(?!)… hmm..

      it’s not working,and im confused it say monster hunter portable 2 but when i extract the rar file its freedom 2.are this two similar.

      Uh really? Read the title… This is supposed to be a way of running CFW on OFW 5.50…

      I have both Need for Speed and Monster Hunter but, I cant get it to work. I’m not even sure how it is supposed to work. I put it in the saved games folder and tried to load the saved game in Monster Hunter but, it wont load it. I think it is supposed to reboot into chickHEN or at least exit the game and allow ChickHEN to start so you can run CFW enabler. I dont have the JAP version but, I thought I would try anyways. No luck here and the readme file contained in the .rar really doesn’t tell you anything either. For those of you with PSPs on OFW 5.50, STOP UPDATING THEM. Just wait until they find another way to run HomeBrew Apps.

    It’s fake because HW.bin is just a copy of ChickHEN..

      or maybe it uses the same bin file for reboot into hen environment….

        It’s been 3-4 days since this news broke out and not even 1 can make it to work.. Maybe it’s just a trick to make people upgrade to 5.50 or something.. This exploit is not suppose to load in hen environment but it will enable you to launch chickhen once you load up the exploit..

        Ok…. It is obviously not working.. But i thought that it is not working just for n00bs.. But I am wrong.. Oh and I didn’t see any1 who tried it with monster hunter portable 2 JAP VERSION…. Because different game region has different disc code.. And btw. I don’t want to trick people….

        I was referring to the author of the “exploit” as the one who maybe tricking us.. Don’t get your hopes down, 5.50 is still exploitable according to Davee but apparently he don’t have any intention of searching for user exploit for it..

        Yup, goldpalo is right. After it is proven that this exploit works, they would create the hack from it. Let’s help them so they could help us in return. And in the end, the sooner we can play those great upcoming games. Ü

    Ok i will do this and yes i hope it works ive been working with liptiff images and they allmost work i got one to not crash just reboot my psp but thats it not custom
    and this looks good cause i can do this
    and then downgrade to the 3cfw then chickhen enbaler
    and at the end ill use easy installer
    and i will have a PSP silm 5.50 ofw to become 5.00 M33 cfw sounds cool for me

    yes i have a camra and as soon as it works i will post a video hear if i can or ill just post it on youtube for eveyone to enjoy

    but i will try this tonight after work a friend told me about this website so i just added myself right now and i can get this to work ive been hacking psp since they first came out thank you for the POST

    ok to clear any confusion, to use this with need for for speed the source says you must rename the exploit to whatever need for speed saves it as. so lets say it says need for speed save as its save file, then you rename it to that. According to the source when translated.

      If this exploit really does work. Will it work for the psp3K with 5.50. I havent read anything that says if it is or not please someone tell me so I know if I should purchase the game or not.

    I THINK I JUST CREATED A HACK FOR THE PSP 3000. WHAT IT IS SUPPOSED TO DO IS BOOT YOUR PSP INTO CHICKEN R2. I THINK THIS HACK WILL WORK ON FIRMWARES UP TO 5.51. BUT YOU MUST MEDAL OF HONOR: HEROES FOR THIS TO WORK. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS DOWNLOAD THIS FILE
