Remote Play on ANY PS3 game via Hacked PS3

Blacksheep over at PS3Hax has found its possible to play any game it seems via Remote Play. This little hack of course requires the user to have a hacked Ps3. (PS Jailbreak / PSGroove or PSFreedom…Google them) With a few edits of the PARAM.SFO as per below a user can now remote play any title on their PSP. No lag or audio lag reported either, Nice!

Instructions on enabling Remote Play on any PS3 (You need a hacked / Exploited PS3 3.41 for this!)

At first I thought games that weren’t remote play enabled probably ran really slow and lagged terribly. I was wrong, the first game I tried this on was Killzone 2 and it ran surprisingly well no audio lag, buttons were responsive, and the video was smooth without any hiccups.
How to: 1. Dump any game of your choice to your hdd
2. Install Ps3 FTP and launch it
3. Connect via ftp and navigate to your hdd folder then to games -> LAUN12345 -> GAMEZ -> YOUR GAME ID -> PS3_GAME
4. Now copy PARAM.SFO and make a backup of it just in case
5. Download SFO Editor open the sfo and check “enable remote play”
6. Save it and then open up the FTP and transfer the modded sfo back into the PS3_GAME folder.
7. Now connect your psp in remote play and enjoy. Kudos to theblacksheep for discovering this.
Update: I tested this using the pc remote play and it didn’t work, only seems to be working on the psp.

    Wow…that is pretty damn amazing- again, the homebrew community doing something Sony could/should do. I already updated my PS3 (wanted to download some games, and wasn’t aware of any PSNLover type things for it), but maybe Sony would see this and be like, “oh, is that all it takes? Then let’s Allow It.”

    Oh my dang!!!!!!!! I was not for the PS3 Jailbreak, but that is SEXY!!!!!!!! as long as people don’t use PS3jailbreak to pirate and hack(which they will) I will be getting a PS3. That is awesome. So I could go into the bathroom, take a dump, and still play PS3 on my psp…WOWOW!!

    This is great, I’ve been following this PS3 jailbreak very closely and can’t wait till they port PSGroove to the PSP.

    I don’t understand why the PS3 doesn’t allow remote play on most PS3 platform games to begin with, it seems to me that it would help both PS3 & PSP sales. Bad move by Sony if you ask me.

    You don’t need a phat PS3 any PS3 FW v3.41 can be “jailbroken”

    Don’t give the PS3 homebrew people credit yet they are adding features that Sony didn’t and for good reasons. One is the lack of L2,R2,L3,R3 buttons the other is so much data has to be sent for graphic intensive games that it lags with the control input. Watch the video closely he hits X then the character jumps after a short delay. Very short yes but very annoying to play games that way. The few games that were made with remote play in mind don’t even play very well.

    I see most of you don’t have a PS3 a hacked one you can’t go on PSN so no internet remote play so you have to be within the range of your PS3 wifi. You must also quit out of the game put it into remote play mode then connect so using it for when you walk away from the game involves quitting turning on remote play playing for 10 – 15 min walking back quitting out of remote play and reloading the game again. Sony didn’t do much with it because it doesn’t run well….
