[Release] PSP Converter v1.05 Beta2 Released

Share

PSH Forum user KG6ZVP has recently updated his video converter to version 1.05 Beta2. His video converter is different to the others out there, as its based on converting videos with the least hassle possible. It does everything for you, it automates video conversion from any source to the PSP format. It calculates a PSP compatible resolution (480×272) based on input aspect ratio and will then determine the best bitrate for the encode. Its all run from a single batch file. The GUI idea has been scrapped to keep the converter as straight forward as possible. Also noted, the direct DVD  to PSP video ripping option is back.

v1.05 Beta2 changelog:

  • GUI is no longer needed!
  • DVD-Ripping is back!
  • Report in English and German
  • To convert a file, simply drag it onto “NTSC.bat”
  • To rip a DVD, drag the first VOB of a title onto “NTSC.bat” (VTS_XX_1.VOB, etc.)

NOTE: To set output directory, create a file called “Outputdir.txt” in the same folder as “NTSC.bat” and paste the full path where you would like output files to be placed with no quotes (C:\Users\KG6ZVP\Videos\PSP Converter Output Files, c:\output, etc.)

This is by far the easiest and most useful tool to convert PSP videos I encountered so far. It made the process so painless and easy with just a couple of mouse clicks. Fantastic job bro and keep up the good work. Thanks!

      I appreciate the compliment.

IMPORTANT NOTE TO EVERYONE: this beta does not have video bitrate calculation. It chooses between several different bitrates based on framerate. 1.05 Final (hope to release within a week or two) will have full bitrate calculation which will vastly improve compression on videos such as: 320×240 @ 14.985 fps.

Damn, this is even slower that PSPVC….

It’s not supposed to be fast, it’s supposed to deliver, good quality, small PSP compatible video files.

  • kakashi07

This is true. Quality > PSPVC , it’s brighter, the audio volume is higher but the file size is about the same.

conversion process is very slow. video output is too bright, audio is distorted n full volume (even n 60%) which is very bad! this might cause permanent damage on stereo. No fancy GUI, u cant choice wut Bitrate, fps, video resolution u want… also no a/v “advance tweaks” thingy… which i find most useful about video converter. ahem… “it automates video conversion”

This converter is written for high quality input files. What kind of video were you trying to convert? Could you give me some more details?

You can choose video resolution if you drag a single video file onto ‘Convert multiple files.bat’.
