Real working 6.20 Exploit found. Works on all PSP's.

Here’s the facts, PSPJoke has found a real for firmware 6.20 Quite a few top people in the scene are now working on this Firmware 6.20 . Its confirmed working on the PSP-1000,PSP-2000, PSP-3000 and yes even the Go for now (till Sony removes it from PSN, when they find it). This is not a fake! The team behind this are now working on a form of HEN or Eloader. No word on if they will publicly release it and the info behind it.

No files or videos are out at this stage as proof. But many trust-able people in the scene have confirmed it works so that is enough. And being that fact its a save game exploit of a certain PSN/UMD title once Sony find out they will patch it within hours…This half the issue if your a PSP Go owner after the exploit. I’m afraid too many people are getting there sticky fingers in this one and its spreading like wild fire.

We don’t know what the game its is, but its on UMD so PSP owners with a UMD drive are safe (stay on 6.20!). I suggest you keep up with the latest news incase its leaked in order to grab a copy before Sony patch it or remove it from PSN.

Known Facts:

  • Its a working save game exploit
  • Works on all PSP’s FW 6.20
  • Its not a fake, proven by respected PSP scene dev’s
  • The game is on PSN and UMD
  • User-mode level exploit (Emulators, homebrew etc)

And yes in many ways its will be like the grip shift exploit, UMD copies of this game will sell for stupid amounts once its made public….

So get ready for a new wave of xxxxx save game exploits ;)

    dont see why we’d need to go out to buy the game or whatever just for the exploit since people are just gonna post it online once they figure out how to create the cfw…. personally im fine with 5.03 m33-6 on my psp 3k

        Youre wrong about that dude. 5.03 m33-6 is if you are using CFW Enabler 3.50. MHU2D team replaced their CFWE title to 5.03 MHU when they released 3.51 to 3.70.

        yea exactly what se7en said sometimes i use gen a but in my opinion gen-c sucks (cus i cant play worms 2HA!) but most of the time im on m33_6 cfw so yea…if you dont believe it look it up… google isnt that difficult to operate

        why is he a “d!ck.” He’s just advising “awesomeLoukas” the better option for a portable gaming unit. The kid is 9, most nintendo games are for his age. Most “good” games for the PSP are at least 12+.

    This isn’t much use to PSP Go users really. Think about it if you do happen to have or get the game before Sony pull it or patch it. Your stuck with homebrew and emulators. Thats awesome, however if you want to buy a new game you’ll need to update to 6.30 and guess what? Sony will patch that. So its a really not much use to PSP Go owners. Unless you never want to play any new games ever again….

      I agree with you somewhat, but don’t you think ultimately if psp Go! users never update their systems that a full custom firmware will emerge from the exploit? I mean thats just assuming that Go! users even catch the game before it’s patched. Usually a CFW is released not too long after an exploit, so in a way it may be good but I can also see how it can end up bad!

      well you are forgetting that if they do update some one is going to decrept it and end up using CSO files that will play on the old firmware then again considering the amount of time it took just to find this exploit….

        Thank god I am not an impulse buyer (like my dad), because I would have ran over to Target or Gamestop to buy the PSPGo on the release date, knowing nothing about it, then getting pissed off at the crappy product.

        BACK ON TOPIC. Someone will (eventually) decrypt it. Sony can quickly patch the game if they have to, so it would be best if this is kept under wraps until the eLoader is released. This is useless for PSPGo users, because if an eLoader is released, they need to buy all the games they want before the eLoader comes out if they want homebrew THAT BADLY, since Sony WILL patch the new 6.XX firmware.

    Good work, but it would only serve a purpose on a TA88v2 or TA90v1 with ofw 6.20. Because:
    a) below TA88v2 are hackable with pandora
    b) PSP-GO! have no UMD drive, The game will be patched on PSN
    c) TA88v2 or TA90v1 with 5.03 has ChickHEN

    Not to mention this is only a usermode exploit and im afraid unless someone finds another vulnerability ontop of this to elevate privileges, you will not see a CFW or ISO Loader become of this.

    This is what we were using on FTB2, I posted that it was there but I got flamed for even bringing it up but now that the cat is out of the bag I guess it doesn’t matter huh? It’s kinda funny that now some one else has found it there’s no one flaming it to the extent I got it. Any ways good job on finding it and good luck on the work but so that it’s not exposed too far I will leave it at that.

      I’m telling everyone now that there is a perma hack on the way for the ta88v3!!! it’s gonna take forever, dont even bother looking for it till sony gives up on the psp, but remember you heard it here first!! i said it first!! me me me even tho i may get flammed….

        when it’s a forgone conclusion you did’nt really tell us anything we did’nt already know did you? at some point down the road every psp will be able to run homebrew, and isos. It just wont be till sony calls it quits on the psp and moves onto the next big thing.

    Hmm..is a save game exploit the same as wii? like you have the “Twilight hack” and a copy of Twilight princess then load the exploit by moving forword with the analog to get to the exploit install screen then install CIOS? (in this case CFW) Same concept?

        IIRC, the Twilight hack was a buffer overflow exploit (by using a very long name). It’s been done before to run homebrew on the PSP, but not much is known about it right now. We’ll have to wait for more information on this.
        My guess is that it’s a Wi-Fi exploit, but I don’t really know much about programming.

        Buffer overflows were used in the MOHH(2) exploit for 5.50.

        The Twilight Hack is not being updated more, so now it is an outdated (but the easiest) way to hack your wii.

        I’m pretty sure there’s easier ways to hack your Wii now, seeing as you don’t need to go through the trouble of getting TP anymore. Thanks to BaNNeRBoMB, all you need is an SD card. It doesn’t really get any easier than that.
        And there’s also Indiana Pwns and Smash Stack.

    wow. awesome news! this will raise the amount of psp users once again.
    i bet sony will have a 20% increase in psp sales because of this.
    once again, the psp scene has proved that it can live even when users think it’s dying.

    Smart that they have not released it yet. If it ever gets leaked, even on some remote random site, sony will somehow patch the game, AND the firmware about it. The sony devs are gonna start crapping in their pants soon.

    Another exploit! Hope this isn’t fake.looking forward to this exploit.This means alot to us psp users.

    I’m still thinking logically if I accidentally brick my psp 3000 how do they manage to unbrick the psp?
    Do they change the motherboard? or will they use the new service tool? A friend told me that he had his 3000 unbricked and still the Mac Address stays the same because every motherboard has a unique Mac Address but they updated the firmware to the latest version.
    I mean there has to be a way.There has to be a loose end of all this.

    btw I’m studying Systems Engineering and VEL(Electronics)

    I kinda think this is pointless in a way…for one reason it says home brew only. Kinda bad for PSPGO since you can only play home brew and not any thing on your hard drive. Correct me if I’m wrong.

    Ok, what exactly does this do to a psp? I am a little confused by the vague description of what this exploit actually does.

      basically the exploit is a game save file for a certain game (we dont know which one at the moment) that has been altered so we can run other code (i.e. homebrew) when the game save is loaded

      Its not known at this stage. Only if they gain full kernel access which is doubtful. Most likely a HEN or Eloader for running your home-brew eboots.

    so the other 6.20 exploit was fake? I know people have said that it can be done by loading an image saying hello world…so I can safely assume that it is a fake

      that is real just that those were kernel mode so you cannot do anything except hello world.This one is user mode so it is possible to get running of isos and hombrew.

    Some idiots on lan.st have already spammed the name of the “game” they removed it very quickly but I’m sure that Sony got wind of this and more “idiots”…So they have just blown it for all PSP Go owners. UMD drive PSP’s are fine as they can’t patch a UMD already burnt now can they.

    uhmm….. is the umd available here in the Philippines? if i’ll use our neighbor’s wifi to connect to psn, it only runs at 20-40% connectivity :( it will take me hours sitting at one place:( i hope the game is small in size
