PSX Pops emulator ported to run on the PS Vita?
Here’s something that has stirred up the PS Vita Scene, its an alleged video of an unknown developers efforts to emulate PSX games on our PS Vita. And even before Sony themselves come up with a solution. The quick video posted on YouTube seems legit and not just a video played through the vita. It shows a PSX game being played in real time and what looks to be a port of the PSP PSX emulator know as POPS running it (judging from the menus).
This is a PSX game running on PSVita through the PSP Emulator. Nothing special, just showing what you can do with PSP Emulator kernel access. The sound doesn’t work yet. If I get that working, I’ll share you guys the code to get POPS.
The nameless dev claims he will release this for the PS Vita once he find out how to get the sound working on the Vita, which is all the emulaor seems to lack. And its interesting to note that to do this, emulate PSX games. This dev has PSP emulator kernal access to the Vita. Which could open up a whole new ball game to the Vita if this info is released. And Fingers cross we will see a release soon!
We will keep you posted.
