SofiyaCat has just released another version of the PSPTube bringing us build 20080211. If your unaware, PSP Tube is a Homebrew PSP application that lets users watch Flash movies, YouTube movies from your PSP. Its reported that this build fixes the Dailymotion bug, removes veoh and adds YouKU.

    Oh my god people. YOU CAN’T USE HOMEBREW APPS ON OFFICIAL PSP FIRMWARE. THIS INCLUDES 4.05 AND 5.01.

    Dear Readers;

    I know this message will help you all out if ANYONE has a question. I have learned all this from my recent past experience but my research became to be very sad.

    Here are some main questions:

    “WTF is a HOMEBREW?!”

    1. A Homebrew Application (google it) is a nifty thing that you can download from your PC (Personal Computer) and sent it to your PSP from a USB cord (obviously). They include games, fun stuff, random helping tools, and others INCLUDING the PSPTube!

    “uhh,what’s a “CFW”?”

    2.) “CFW” stands for Custom Firm Ware. to find out what you have, turn on your PSP, go to SETTINGS, down to SYSTEM SETTINGS, and scroll to SYSTEM INFORMATION…. your FIRMWARE is the System Software (mine’s Version 5.20 for future reference). Firmware is a name that I’m not sure how it came to be, but it’s there….. People say you need a 1.50 or lower firmware to play most Homebrew apps. (not many have 1.50 or lower because human instincts tell them GET THE NEWEST! ITS BEST!!!! like me….lol)
    Sorry, even I still don’t understand what an M33, so I can’t help you there…)
    Bottom line> USUALLY YOU NEED TO HAVE A SYSTEM SOFTWARE (firmware) OF 1.50 OR LOWER TO PLAY HOMEBREW APPS. INCLUDING THIS PSPTUBE! IT SHOWS UP CORRUPTED IF YOU SUCCESSFULLY GET IT ON YOUR PSP. (keep reading)

    This seems to be the main question here…

    Simple, read the previous answer right above this… (in the all caps)

    Well, I’ll try to “dumb it down” for the the unskilled…Firmware (system software) is a setting on the inside of the PSP, the Memory Card is good if you can get it on there (separate question) but once again, you would need a Firmware of 1.50 or lower to play. DO NOT DOWNGRADE!!! well, if you want to, I’m not stopping you… but be warned> if something goes wrong like 34%
    of people who tried this, then your in bad luck. I wouldn’t know what WOULD happen, but its not covered in your warranty.

    The Higher the Firmware (System Software) the more Security you have. Also you get more out of it because like 5.00 or higher, you get an extra icon that automatically sends you to the PSP store….

    “How do I put it on my PSP??”

    Here’s some geek talk for some of you… follow along with me if you please:

    Download the File that you want to your computer, preferably Desktop.

    It will be called “PSPTube20080211.zip” (it was for me) Open it and “extract”(take out onto the desktop) the very first folder you see.

    (I have dialup-very slow internet- so I will not do this, but I did many times before)

    Plug in your PSP; explanation follows.

    If it did not auto play, do the following:
    Start/MyComputer/RemovableDiskF/PSP/GAME/ and put it there.

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
    SHAM-WOW!!!
    BOOT-SCOOTN’-Boogie!
    GO-GO-POWER RANGERS!!!!!

    Don’t get too excited because here’s the moment of truth, when I started crying….(joke) GO to your PSP, and unplug it when the orange light stops flashing. (or press O)

    Scroll to Game.
    Down to Memory Stick.
    Hit “X”.
    One of three things should show:
    ~~the game itself~~ (it’s really an APP…)
    ~~CORRUPTED DATA~~ << if the game shows up, once again, don’t get excited, lime mine, it had everything looking right until I hit X, DATA IS CORRUPTED>>>>>

    Wa-Wa-Waaaaa
    CRAP-DANGIT!
    MONKEYBUT!

    mine didn’t work because i have Firmware 5.02. (past question)

    Well, I gota’ go. Hope this helps.
