.04 Released. Now supports PSP-3000's Motherboards

jas0nuk has released an update to PSPident. This release version 4 adds support for PSP-3000 motherboards. What is PSPident? Its a very useful tool to find out just what version of PSP motherboard you have. If used with ChickHEN you can run this and it will make a print screen like the above about your PSP model and motherboard version you have in your hands. So you can see if its possible flash custom firmware or not. Without risking a brick. (See the below chart)

Changelog is as follows:
0.3 -> 0.4

* Long overdue update. Congrats to all the PSP-3000 users who can finally use homebrew!
* Updated all the data with the latest available, so it now detects TA-088 v1/v2/v3, TA-090 v1 (final version of Slim) and TA-090 v2 (first version of PSP-3000 or “Brite”)
* Due to a lack of info, TA-088 v1 and v2 are are indistinguishable and will appear as such on the app.

    uhm. i have a psp slim with ta-088 v1/v2.
    does that mean i dont have to create a pandora?
    and what does pandora do?

      A Pandora Battery puts the PSP into service mode to allow CFW flashing. However you don’t need to make a Panodra Battery. You can use ChickHEN and install Custom Firmware from there. See this thread -> http://pspslimhacks.com/easy-chickhen-custom-firmware-installer-without-pandora/

    im so so sad when i heard that my psp has a TA-088 motherboard…from now on, im no longer able to play Monster Hunter 2G with my friend using ISO…nvm..i’ll try to buy one UMD eventhough its expensive..

      Your psp may have a TA-088 motherboard, but that doesen’t make it unhackable – only if it is TA-088 v3 (third version)

      Look at the guide. You’ll see its a big NO. You’ll brick your TA-90 V2 / PSP-3000 if you try and install CFW via ChickHEN.

    i put the folders in my GAME folder and launched from the PSP menu. It said data was corrupted….why is that?

    Can i have CXMB…or will that BRICK my PSP??

      You will brick your PSP. Anything that flashes flash0 will brick a PSP-3000 in chickHEN. This includes, M33 custom firmware, GEN custom firmware, CXMB, theme flashes, DEVHOOK etc etc.

      You can just run homebrew, apps and emulators. You can’t install CFW so please don’t try!

    Do you have to be in chickHEN? I’m new to this and still dont get all it of. Hahaha. Trying to figure out what motherboard I have. This is getting confusing!! I’m at FW 5.03 and my friend tried pandoraing it and it just turns on and shuts off immediately. Any ideas?

      ChickHen is a Homebrew enabler which lets you play psp apps, emulator,and more(but not as much as CFW).

      You enable it by downloading it and putting the “h.bin” in the “root” of your memory stick(not MS ROOT) and the pictures in the “PICTURE” folder. You do not need pandora battery or magic memory stick.

      Once you put the h.bin and the pictures where they are, go to to your psp and go to pictures and keep on trying to scroll up in down until your screen flashes green and does funky stuff.(if it freezes SHUTOFF your PSP and do it again until the FLASHING screen comes, HAVE PATIENCE).

      Once your PSP screen flashes got to your system settings>system information, and if it says “5.03 ChickHEN R2″ that means you got ChickHEN.

      If you do not want to do the exploit again leave it on STANDBY MODE if you are not using it. If you shut it off then you have to do the exploit again.

      I HOPE THAT IS ENOUGH INFORMATION! :)

        what do u mean by “root” because the only folder that says root on my psp memory is MS ROOT I dont know if thats the one ur talking about if it isn’t then please tell me wich one it is THANKS!

      Xais: you have to have “ChickHEN” enabled to see your motherboard.

      If your motherboard is TA-090 v2 like mine, you will brick your PSP with the installation of custom firmware.

      If you leave it in “STANDBY” then you DON’T, But if you shut it off then YOU HAVE TO DO IT AGAIN.

      It will not run if HEN is not enabled. Make sure HEN is running on your PSP, then try again.

      dude extract the file from the rar file and put it in the game folder. most all apps you run are going to be in the game folder.

    I don’t know if this one can be installed with CFW.
    Motherboard type: Slim (02g)
    Motherboard model: TA-088 v1/v2
    PSP version: Slim v2.0/2.1

    TA-088 v1/v2 is not on the list, I don’t know if this is same as TA-088 v1 or TA-088 v2. I hope it doesn’t mean v1+v2=v3. It’s the blue psp 2k with bundled with madden nfl. Can someone tell me if this is good for CFW?

      if you had CFW it would say 5.03 chickHEN R2

      You must update to some form of cfw first, via CHICKhen for psp 3000 mobos.
