PSP TV Tuner at the Tokyo Game Show:

PSPFanboy.com were lucky enough to get a hands on look at the Japanese Peripheral, that adds TV functionality to the PSP. Unfortunately this is only to be released in Japan, Why? Apperently Sony stated that overhead costs would make this unit too costly for overseas markets. I think it´s a big mistake to not release this worldwide. I´m sure there would be demand for it. Like the old game gear Tv tuner (remember that?). I wouldn´t mind one myself if it was released and would receive DVB digital signal. This tuner only works in Japan, with the 1seg standard there. Its 100% useless unless you live or plan to visit Japan and wish to have TV on your PSP Slim.

However if you really wanted one you can get one from Ebay or online stores that export direct from Japan like, Play-Asia.com. But again this doesn´t work outside of Japans 1seg Digital TV Standard.

“The video quality at the Tokyo Game Show floor was stellar, with very minimal artifacting seen in the video. It’s easy to change channels through a simple intuitive interface which overlays over the video quite nicely. A variety of video resize options can be readily accessed by bringing up the options menu with the Triangle button.”
