PSP Plus gives the PSP DualShock compatibility

Sony's DualShock 3

Sony's DualShock 3

The PSP will soon be able to use the DualShock 3 as a controller via the PS3.

Recently announced at the Tokyo Game Show, “PSP Plus” allows you to plug in the AV cable to the TV and connecting the PSP to the PS3 via USB; to play the game with the DualShock 3 on the TV. PSP Plus will feature in the game Resistance: Retribution, and there’s no doubt others will get this feature too.

To enable PSP Plus, gamers must have the copy of the game on the PS3 (in this case, Resistance 2) as well as the PSP and no firmware updates are needed. PSP Plus will give “rumble” to your games and add a second analog for use.

Digg!

Um… what’s the point? Why not just make it a PS3 game instead?

Porting a PSP game to PS3 would be a waste of time and money.

Aw Shut the hell up you stupid haters. Whether you think this idea is good or not doesn’t matter but no one really gives a rip about your asinine opinon. “Sony is out of ideas”? Dude, things are still developing and if you had any imagination whatesoever you might be able to think of some sick applications that would take advantage of these new features they’re coming out with. I can’t believe you stupid mugs came out with some retarded crap like “Sony is out of ideas”. Effin Clown.

Further more, I’ve never heard them say they’d port the games from psp to ps3. If you read this somewhere please link me to it, I’d be interested in what they had to say.

So you think that the following; Linking the PSP to PS3, then playing your PSP on the PS3 (More or less via the TV) is cool. Honestly this is the biggest waste of time ever. If I were concerned with the PSP’s ability to have “Dualshock” I wouldn’t have bought it in the first damn place. I’m fine with being able to basically use it as a controller AND use it on the T.v.. Oh, and Quicksilver: Sony really is running out of ideas AND losing money. Their continuous pursuit in linking the PSP and the PS3 together really isn’t worth the time OR the money. Unless they intend to add major features to their firmware it isn’t happening. Think about what you’re saying here. Basically, “Oh, I won’t play my psp without dualshock, that’d be lame!” Besides; why would you bother using the PSP with the PS3 anyway? Are you really so bored with the PS3s awesome graphics? Eh, whatever everyone is entitled to their opinion.

    On a final note. (IMO)

PS3, Biggest POS that cost a shit load of money that I’ve ever seen. (Yea, that’s right I ripped on the PS3 what now newbs?)

lol @ Bewaffled. Understand that this thread has been inactive for over a month ago so while I commend your researching prowess, this is basically a pseudo-closed topic dude. I will honor your comment as you made a direct and incorrect statement. Seeing as that I never said “Oh, I won’t play my psp without dualshock, that’d be lame!” until just this moment and the fact that you took the liberty to put words in my mouth, AND also the fact that you obviously didn’t care to truely ask what my opinon was and assumed IS in fact a non-issue, I’d like to point out to you that in many many recent articles and interviews Sony reps continue to let us know there is progress that is being made to make good on what they promised which is to deliver us psp intergration into our ps3 games. Sony makes alot of promises and while I cannot say that all of thier promises are kept as seeing as that I don’t know all of the promises they’ve made in the past, I see that the ones that I do know about are nearly always kept and delivered. Except due dates because we all know that 90% of projected dates of completion with sony are bullshit. :) We know this. The fact, and point, is that they do it and do it as promised.

Now the last part of your post, while you are entitled to your opinon: Lend me your ear for a second and let me justify mine. Here is PS3, yea a console that the world of computing and gaming isn’t quite at the point of being READY (notice I didn’t say able) to support. However it’s made by a QUALITY company of dreamers who look into the future of technology and see what’s coming. From this point I can only assume that this is why they choose to do a long-term console plan. They did it with PS2, PS1 I am unsure if they did this or not, but they’re doing it again with PS3. It’s a business model that worked well in the past. Their strength is also in the same sense their Achillies heel in my opinon. Because games and features and just the whole depth of the system, or any system as sophisticated, that’s been created has truely yet to have realization and familiarity for the people that are responsible for bringing us the games we love. Namely the software developers. Things are already coming along for PS3 though and it’s really actually starting to pick up some momentum. I am excited to see what happens because I’ve owned a PS3 for a while and to me this is basically saying to me “Okay. Here it comes.” Have you heard of M.A.G.? If you haven’t, check it out. It’s a game that’s only able to be run on the PS3 because of what is required to run the game. This is a step in the direction of tapping the PS3 for what it meant to do. Run amazing games. Yes many other things can be done with the PS3, it’s a versitle system. The core heart and idea of what this thing is intended to do is run games. From what I hear going on in the gaming news, I predict it’s coming and coming very soon.

I look at the other guy:
Here is what I see alot of. Games and franchises that were once exclusive to Playstation now being bought out. I see lack of heart in the work they do and lack of quality. What I mean by this is Overpriced and Underbuilt items being sold and no problem with tagging anything with a fee and at that a rather exorbanant one. I see alot of effort to try and squash out the competition and between the buyers of either platform, a hell of a lot of static for no real reason. I see some great ideas come and huge oppertunites pass them right by. Sony often times not only catches those things I see the other guy miss but also jump on things I never saw and I see something with them that I don’t in the other side.

Believe me. If you think that Sony is out of ideas and is a waste of time, you most certianly would be wrong my friend.

What’s the point!? I guarantee most people who have PSP’s, like myself, don’t even have a PS3 anyway. Make the PSP by itself compatible with PS2 AND 3 controllers.
