PSP Go is all go. Leaked before the E3 announcement.
Well well, if Sony isn’t releasing another PSP revision. Seems those rumours were true again. As Sony will announce at E3 a new slide UMD-less PSP Go!. This new model does away with the UMD and apots for digital games downloads, and for storage you have a nice large 16GB of flash memory to store your downloaded games, Mp3 music, images and more. The new model also includes bluetooth now so you can pair it up with a bluetooth headset.
Also newly soon to be announced games are coming to the new System – Gran Turismo, LittleBigPlanet, Jax and Daxter, and a new portable Metal Gear Solid are all named in this video below:

Some interesting questions seem to arise from this design….
1:) No USB port? Looks like an apple Iphone style port on the bottom to be used with docks.
2:) Where are the audio and screen buttons?
3:) Does anyone see a Memory Stick Duo slot? (Edit: I think we can see a flap for the Memory stick)
4:) Looks like it has an internal battery – Bigger / better battery?
5:) No TV out feature??

Not sure If i’ll buy this one…I don’t think Sony is going in the write direction. Sure 16GB is nice, but the design? looks cramped up, no second analog stick. Doesn’t even have a Camera for video skype…. I guess a hands on will be needed.

Ditto, I like its sleek design, its also 40% lighter I heard, and the 16GB internal memory makes me drool but there are some things I always wanted to consider more. Battery life is one, and second being Im not a fan of the playstation store and wifi.
I’m not sure though. I know sony will do something about games, game rental on something like that would be awesome.
Along with the fact you have your memory stick I might consider this, plus it can be really deadly if it gets hacked. Now the only thing I need to worry about it its price…

If they did do two analog sticks it would have cut out the rest of the PSP owners so you have to consider that too.

I’ll wait and see when it comes out. The idea of 16GB internal storage is nice but there’s also the price of it, and of course homebrew capability.

So it’s the same hardware, but without UMD and a piddly 16GB of internal flash? I’ll stick with the previous models, thanks, especially if the new games are compatible with them.

Just Kidding Sony! I’ll try to support you guys without piracy for some time on this new unit. I see you guys are trying really hard so why not. Besides, maybe it will inspire a XBOX portable and force everyone to step their games up with lower download content prices.

No you tard the games cost real money on the PSN store and you know what I don’t blame pirates for stealing Games on the PSP cause its an Crappy system to begin with, But Making this poor design and Selling Software instead of actual Physical UMD’s and charging the same prices is an Rip off. I Really do Feel for the Developers that made these games but i feel even sorrier for them cause they had to design the games on an Crappy system like this to begin with. Sony quite being penny punchers and make your system open source and do an system like android so people can sell there own game on your PSN and make there own money. Plus you can make more money if there are more games being Developed and the game cost less. But your none duel analog and shity psp go can go suck an chode for all I care. I can’t wait tell hackers Crack the psp 3000 and 2000 with TA-088v3 Then you can Drown in the pirates for making an Crappy system. Well i’m freaked!!! I absolutely loathe it… but thats not what i’m worried about… It the NO UMD thing thats freaking me out…. i dont know for sure….but the iso/cso games that some of us can play (psp 1k,2k) are ripped from these umds…. and digital downloads means sony will put digital signature on the games…. so the hackers have a lot of work to do…craking the new psp will be a big challenge…and i seriously dont believe that sony will keep the previous harward specs… look at the % at which the “might unhackable” psp 3k has been cracked…sony will not just sit there and let this happen….boy someone really has to work on decoding those digi signatures..

They took out UMD because it used to much energy to load this 1 has more battery life

da psp 1000, 2000, and 3000 have no real significant difference it just less hackable
and get more games for the psp you should be able to have all games availible that ever was

It is a leak, so maybe it is just a model they intentionally leaked out just to deviate attention… At E3 they might appear with a completely different model… or not… who knows… Personally don’t like the design…
And I agree with someone’s previous comment, I don’t like the idea of putting all my stuff in the internal memory but in a memory stick or something alike… Honestly Im not used to backup anything…

I took the UMD drive out of my psp slim to make it lighter and for the hell of it… I never really need to backup games.. I run everything from my memstick anyways

im certain that sony is doing all it can to increase their products obsolescence rate just like what the apple is doing..in turn they are trying to increase their sales through these updates on their products, leaving the new owners of their previous units frustrated and unsatisfied….well personally im not going to by this Go stuff unless its price is close to my old unit if im going to sell it or replace it…for the meantime im GOing to enjoy my old psp2004 and sony laptop…

all i like about this is the analogue placement, cuz the former psp has the analogue at the bottom and its a hell of a thumb strainer if you ask me. And this one is smaller so you can really stuff it in your pocket with youy wallet, unlike the fromer psps, take up too much space and its like a brick in your pants, plus it sticks out. and, does this thing have a memorystick? what about battery life? haha sorry for being so whiny

I can see why it is called the GO. I noticed some people complain about the smaller screen. To me it seems Sony is trying to make their product more portable. Honestly, I hardly take my PSP anywhere with me, it is a bit cumbersome. The GO, being smaller and having a smaller screen, will make it easier to carry around. Then again, if the screen isn’t protected I’d be scared to just put it in my pocket and GO.
I’d wait until its out and has some reviews, then see when they will make their update of the GO. I never really minded the one analog stick, but with so many people wanting it I think Sony might have taken a hint and put the dual analog in. Suppose not. The PSP will stay on the market, but will the UMD games still be made?
