PSP Go Confirmed! Internal 16GB Flash Memory, No UMD

PSP Go is all go. Leaked before the E3 announcement.

is all go. Leaked before the E3 announcement.

Well well, if Sony isn’t releasing another PSP revision. Seems those rumours were true again. As Sony will announce at E3 a new slide UMD-less !. This new model does away with the UMD and apots for digital games downloads, and for storage you have a nice large 16GB of flash memory to store your downloaded games, Mp3 music, images and more. The new model also includes bluetooth now so you can pair it up with a bluetooth headset.

Also newly soon to be announced games are coming to the new System – Gran Turismo, LittleBigPlanet, Jax and Daxter, and a new portable Metal Gear Solid are all named in this video below:

Edit:

Some interesting questions seem to arise from this design….

1:) No USB port? Looks like an apple Iphone style port on the bottom to be used with docks.

2:) Where are the audio and screen buttons?

3:) Does anyone see a Memory Stick Duo slot? (Edit: I think we can see a flap for the Memory stick)

4:) Looks like it has an internal battery – Bigger / better battery?

5:) No TV out feature??

Wow! They took the Nub out! Coupled with digital only downloads- That was a dumb idea. Unless they provide me with the software I need to fabricate my of professional quality disks and boxes- I’m definitely not getting this. I have a feeling this will fail badly.
Does anyone know if what it’s specs are?

What are you talking about? The nub is directly to the right of the D-pad.

comparing the psp 3000 to the psp go! (psp 4000). the psp 3000 has way more style. I was hoping the new psp 4000 would be more compact, like these designs below…

Nah, it’s pretty much confirmed. There’s a box shot of the GO floating around that also shows the new slim ps3, which is what I’m really looking forward to.

    confirmed:

    1. Memory Stick Micro (left side of the PSP)

    2. 3.8 LCD screen

    3. 43% lighter than the PSP 3000

    4. clock screen saver

    5. the USB/battery port under the PSP ( that’s only my opinion, maybe they changed it because of the larger battery capacity like many of the ipods and iphones and maybe transfers files faster and charges quicker, well i hope so)

    6. audio button (on my theory there is none. again following the design of the ipods and iphones, that volume can be adjusted with in the user interface.)

still don’t know the battery life =_= lets hope it can compete with the battery of the iphone.

The only two things that i like.

      1.its lighter
      2. longer battery life (I hope)

And a question.. Is there a battery for slim that last longer that the default/ordinary battery of PSP?
Cuz the 2-3 hours of my bat seems not enough for me.

the price maybe the same as the psp 3000, there is no UMD slot, but they repleced that with a very large memory, bluetooth and a new usb/battery port, plus a more powerful battery. this may be even more expensive than the psp 3000, lets hope not.

It sure is weird, I know. It’s almost as if they are gearing up to unveil it at E3. And as all know, E3 only came into existence after the 3000 was “hacked”.

    but design is flopped,
Even after waiting for a long time, I could not hack my 3000, i feel a shame of myself,
I never buy any products which requires costly games etc,

No touchscreen, no new web browser, and no workaround to play UMD games? What the hell are they thinking? They might as well have upgraded the hardware if it’s already incompatible with 95% of existing games.

this sick little handheld is most likely to cost $300-350 so you might as well by a pandora handheld, it cost $330, can emulate dreamcast and systems below and they are working on a psp emulator for it, and is about the size of a ds lite, so yeah.

Pandora is bigger than a DS Lite. It’s pretty much a small laptop with shittier hardware specs running Linux. May as well get a Netbook – not much bigger, better specs and it can emulate anything there’s an emulator for. And you can use any controller you want.

Yea, I wouldn’t splurge on a Pandora until those emulators actually exist. Until then, the PSP emulates the same stuff.
