PSP Go 6.10 CFW HEN enabled, running Homebrew!!

Looks like Team Typhoon has found a way to run HEN (Homebrew enabler) on the PSP Go, Neon’s video above seems pretty leigit to me, how you could fake that I do not kow. He demonstrates 6.10 Typhoon CFW / HEN and running a homebrew emulator pico drive. And apparently this hack is at the Kernel level. Now as amazing as this all is Neon says its never going to be released…Never! I guess for fear that someone will work it to load ISO and then CFW? Still I wouldn’t mind fulling my PSP Go’s 16GB with a few decent emulators and games.

Also whats got thinking is this exploit part of FreePlay’s Save game exploit or something entirely different?

he didnt load chickHEN….so this could mean that we could update to 6.10 on our 2K and 3K models and still hack it from there without running chickHEN….ofcourse this would depend on if someone else finds this exploit.

Why do think that that psp doesn’t have as much games as the ds is because the games can just be downloaded off the Internet and then put right onto your psp without having to pay for it

Yeah some may argue that that why not release for the homebrew only and not include the ability to read ISOs, well, here’s the answer, some one would make so it could read ISOs

And the PSP isn’t going to die just from a few pirates. Think about it, the Go will die on it’s own. Already around the world, game retail and trading stores like GameStop are rejecting the PSP Go because selling it to customers means that they will sell no UMD’s to them, because everything is download only on there. And now even some of the Third Party game creators are choosing not to release the game as a Playstation Network download. Eventually, the idea of the PSP Go will die away. One of the reasons they made the Go might have been to prevent the piracy agent in the gaming community by allowing the games to be download only, but that was only until the method of converting Eboots to ISO’s was found. The use of the Go is starting to fail already. And there is also a quote that I read once before about the Go stated from Sony themselves, “… the Go isn’t a new turn for the PSP, but a means to encourage the sales of the PSP 3000…” so don’t count on the future of the PSP to be in the Go, worry about the unhackable 3000.

It’s good that they don’t release this, cause if they do, someone will make a thing like CFE for the Go, and if that happends, we can be sure that sony and the other company’s wich make psp games will just… erhm? well produce less games etc.

Look what happened when HEN for 3K was released, it leaded to CFW… CFW isn’t bad, i use it myself, but if all PSP models are fully hacked etc., there is a chance sony won’t release games anymore, cause they can be downloaded, and they don’t make money, so why they would make new ones?

If the PSP Go isn’t hacked, they still make new games, cause the People with a PSP Go need to buy them, and if the Go is hacked, who is left to buy the games?

Also we need to think that if this exploit that runs chickHEN on a Go requires a PSN game, as soon as Sony find out that xxxx game is the cause of the save game exploit it will be pulled from PSN.

Sure a Homebrew enabled PSP go would be great, but yes CFW would lead to the death of future (good) games for us all. If all the PSPs were able to run cfw, games developers would stay clear of the machine and wait for the PSP2?

well it is good that it is not released as then the companies will stop making games as this will lead to CFWE which will lead to piracy, but they should find a way to keep chickhen even after rebooting.

Well, what convinced Capcom to stop remaking Mega Man games on the PSP was poor sales, partly influenced by piracy. That’s one example I can think of.

I don’t think piracy is as wide spread as you might think Volt7x. I think piracy effects game sales in the smallest percentage. Most people do not want to waste their time, money and effort and risk getting in trouble with the law just for a few cheap or free games. Besides, most people prefer and original copy of a game with a real case and instruction booklet and a real factory game disc/UMD. Not to mention supporting their favorite game company so that they can put out more of their favorite games. Capcom is just very careful about what consoles they support. Like the Sega Dreamcast. They just want to make their money back and very little money is lost on piracy. These companies are still selling millions of games per title at $30 – $60 each. They are not hurting any.

This is the result of ppls own ignorance and feelings that they’re entitled to have something. Now, we have a perfectly running Hen exploit in front of us, but it will go unreleased because of ppl insulting and demanding like they have rights.
Honestly, I actually expected something like this would happen sooner or later. It’s just a shame because some ppl who are grateful and has yet to do anything wrong is being denied, and it really is just sad.
I wonder if it’s to be expected from more developers?

The way I see it is if they figured it out someone else will and eventually it’ll leak and everyone will have it.
The only good that came out of this video (imo) is that it’s possible to do it. So go ahead keep it yo yourself it’s your right but the cats out of the bag now so someone else will figure it out too and pass on the knowledge.

I believe that Davee wasn’t too happy about it, to say the least. He was aware it was coming, but he doesn’t seem to have complained too much about it publicly. He doesn’t approve of people using CFWE, but he admits he can’t stop you.

So, he takes a similar stance to the one Noobz used to – “we provide stuff that -can- be used for piracy, but if you -do- use it for piracy, we’re not responsible”.

It seems that there are split views on this.
On one side, people think it is right for team typhoon to never release this, so the game developers can Make more games and so on, but others think it is selfish for team typhoon to keep this to themselves and never release this.

I personally think nowone should accuse anybody for being wrong, or posting wrong thoughts, but still, this hack or some other hack will eventually be found out and released, so its just a matter of time. Team Typhoon might never release this, but this video only proves that the go can be hacked, and this vid also gives hope for the psp 3000/088v3 5.5x users that are stuck on their firmwares.

Oh well, lets just wait another couple of months and by then, this or another exploit will be found out and released. For now lets just all shut up.

yes i agree too. But still, sony are stupid too. They could simply focus on building some sort of protection against loading iso’s/ cso’s and let the programs and games written by simple programmers run on their psp’s. It would end this stupid war between the hackers and them.
Also, it would also stop alot of piracy, and would mean more games being produced.

@ Award 982 – Sony wouldn’t allow unsigned homebrew code to run on the PSP, even in user mode. Although User Mode homebrew can’t modify the OS, some of it is stuff with rather questionable legality, like emulators. I mean, most people use ‘em to run backups of games they legally own, but if Sony endorsed homebrew, there’s a chance Nintendo, Sega or whoever could use this to accuse Sony of encouraging people to pirate games released on the Virtual Console, or whatever.
So, while it’d be cool if OFW allowed the execution of homebrew, it’s too risky for Sony.

@imdabom – I believe that the official ISO/CSO plugin, the one used in OFW, is able to detect the difference between a legally bought PSN title and a “backup”.
