PSP Firmware 6.00 beta released to Developer's

PSP Firmware 6.00 has just recently been released to PSP developer’s, for the testing on PSP tool units and development kits for future PSP releases. It certainly seems firmware 5.55 and firmware 5.70 were simply releases to thwart further security bypasses / exploits, like the recent MOHH Exploit.

Since Sony have released this firmware 6 beta its safe to assume, its more likely the retail PSP Go units will ship with firmware 6.00+ come October the 1st.

What’s new in this firmware? At this stage its unknown, but likely to contain many new anti custom firmware measures and exploit fixes to stop would be hackers. Plus new features exclusive to the PSP Go, like bluetooth support.

    this is bad news for those hackers or makers of CFW’s.
    Dark_Alex left us in the wrong time. he should make a 6.00m33.
    lets cross our finger that future games wont need a 6.00 OFW to run until there’s a CFW for 6.00.

    hopefully we’ll see some unique new features (a mobile email app in the XMB would be nice). Not just the same old firmware that does the exact same thing as the one befroe it. So far, ive seen no reason whatsoever to ever upgrade from 5.00 m33-6. The features of custom firmware can never be beaten by what Sony puts out.

      but it depends on what the creator of an CFW adds.
      for example, the CFW 5.00m33-6 contains additional option just like the MS Speedhack, which the OFW 5.00 did not have.

      lets just see whats gonna be add in a 6.00 CFW. it really depends on the skills of the hacker.

    I was also worried about what happened on dark-alex forum, now were getting stucked on 5.00m33-6 since i dont want to use firmware rather than DarkAlex’s firmware. Hope they can create a new custom firmware for us.

      there is still GEN but its not as good as m33.
      there’s also the MHU which is developed by Becus25 and someone from the DarkAlex forum that was closed.
      and there is the MX, which is still a rumor until the beta is released next week.
      The best CFW for the psp is m33, which will be stuck with 5.00m33-6 for a long long time or maybe never.

    it’s cool… it’s just as every thing else in the whole world history.

    The Creators “the good guys” make some thing to stop them “taking” there creation. then the users “the bad guys” make some thins to override this, etc etc and soooooo on!, it as always been like this so yeah it till be hacked.

    This is why everyone should calm down about getting a new CFW right now and wait until the GO is released, like I’ve been saying on other boards for the last month. If CFW devs tip their hand now, it will only make their progress obsolete in a few weeks.

    I really hope that Sony adds ISO support for the OFW. Would help PSP sales skyrocket. The games’ sales might drop sightly, though.

      That just about the most retarded thing I’ve head.
      There’s no way in hell that it would happen, ever.
      I can bet you right now more than 70% of the people don’t even use them to “back up” there games.
      If they did, that wouldn’t even mean game’s sales would drop, because you would need to OWN THE GAME to have the ISO. Sony’s PS Store already has them anyways, its called Eboots.
