PSP Firmware 5.51 released. Nothing new, just improved stability
Sony have released PSP Firmware 5.51, apparently its to improve stability in certain applications. Yeah whatever..More like fixing exploits we think. No sign of DivX / Xvid support or a PSP trophy system. One day I guess.
Sony’s official post on 5.51:
A new PSP firmware update, v5.51, will be released soon. System software stability during use of some features has been improved.

How dumb does sony take us for. Everytime they fixe something they say improved stability. Really thats just an insult to everyone here.

no its not the patches themselves. its the fact they take so many people as dumbasses and just will not admit that there fixing an expliot. they make it sound as if were stupid and will never find out that they fixed something else. they proably hope that some people will buy that they fixed a “stability” issue on some game. im not arguing the fact of releasing updates, just how they present it.

Now the psp will never have that trophy system, there was an article on Qj about it. They said there not going to implement it to keep things “fair”. Meaning, it would be too easy for us on CFW to hack the trophies, which wouldn’t be fair to the OFW users.

I can barely believe this myself, but when you install 5.51, it reverts back to firmware 1.50! Unreal! I guess Sony is in full support of HEN now! I just installed the update and the OS reached out through the internet and self downloaded 1000’s of ISO’s & CSO’s for me, then rebooted and self installed every emulator available, with new Dreamcast support! Along with trophy’s and in-game chat availability, this is truly a stealthy surprise from Sony!!! INSTALL TODAY!!!

Hey; guys dont here those people who says that they want to update there pspz maybe just maybe they are from the sony’s company because if they knew what they were talking about they wouldnt say that and why did nearly the same person says the same things just think of it and I insure you that this version is a destroying one actually I’ve just updated my psp I thought that I can modify it again unfortunately they just made it worse cause when you turn your memory stick to magic memory stick the psp says that (the memory couldn’t be read) and that it should be formated so please Dark-Alex help please HELP!!!!!!! wait I’ve got an idea I mean cant you just hack it and put any kind of a bug that can make an error in unreading the memory stick when it is magic memory stick I guess that is the solution but the problem is how to apply it?!

And if you want to know why did I updated O.K. its because of a program for the psp which works only on ver. 3.71m33 and my version was 5.00m33-6 so I found out that I should update it to the O.F.W. because the program I have modify my psp to version 3.71m33 I didnt knew about the new version till I updated to it and when when it told me about the newer version I said “whatever I can now modify my psp whenever I want” and foundout that I’ve done the 2nd dumbist thing ever the 1st was updating to 5.03 O.F.W.
