PSP Firmware 4.01 Released

Wednesday, June 25th, 2008

Sony have released PSP Firmware 4.01, this minor update includes the following:

Display of search results under Internet Search has been improved for certain languages.
Playback of video content under Video has been improved for certain file types.

Playback has been improved for certain file types? Does this mean DivX ?

I have the same issue as Michael. I have downgraded and upgraded quite a number of PSP slims using my handy MMS and my phat’s battery. But the one that my friend bought yesterday had the official 4.01. Same issue as his, when i put the pandora battery, the green light lights up but there is no indication that the memory stick is being read, only a blank screen. Anybody knows a workaround for this?

ok listen hold the ___R____ button or the L i forget wich one but when you first pop it in have the charger plugged up and hold the L or R try both hope this helped

we all have one thing in common guys… we do have a psp that the games are unable to play… i guess we just have to wait till there are games that can play with the version we had. our units are highly upgraded thats why we cant play much games… we are stuck up with UMD…

Your an idiot!!! The reason why this people cannot downgrade is because their PSP must have the newer motherboard TS-88v3 or a PSP-3000.The TA-088 functions similar to the TA-085v2, and blocks the ability to write the battery’s EEPROM while the PSP can still read it.
