PSP Firmware 4.01 Released

Sony have released PSP Firmware 4.01, this minor update includes the following:

  • Display of search results under Internet Search has been improved for certain languages.
  • Playback of video content under Video has been improved for certain file types.

Playback has been improved for certain file types? Does this mean DivX ?

    my mother bought us a brand new psp..and i thought that i can play many psp games, but it sucks…i cant play because its version 4.01…i hope that they will post about version 4.01 games ..

    Sony had included an extra chip to block the Pandora’s battery from flashing the chip. Until DA and the M33 team figure a way to defeat this. You will be stuck with it for a whle.

    cant play games from memory stick..cant afford to buy UMD…right now i use my PSP as IPOD except its a LOT MORE BIGGER. so when i get back to this page…i hope theres solution for this. thnks

    my girlfriend’s psp has it’s firmware default to 4.01.

    can i downgrade a 4.01 OFW to 3.9 OFW?
    so maybe i can now then convert it to a custom firmware?

    arghh,, this 4.01 is crap..

    i badly need help..i’m from cavite, PHIL…

    You both dont have a choice regarding with your psp… the firmware for 4.01 is not available yet. We still dont know when it will be available in the market. We are stuck in our UMD.
