PSP Firmware 4.01 Released

psp-firmware PSP Firmware 4.01 Released

Sony have released PSP Firmware 4.01, this minor update includes the following:

  • Display of search results under Internet Search has been improved for certain languages.
  • Playback of video content under Video has been improved for certain file types.

Playback has been improved for certain file types? Does this mean DivX ?

    Yea Sony come out with bad updates were is flash 9 and DLNA support i dont want 2 on my ps3 every time i want 2 stream video oh well tho i Got PiMPStreamer ……? ? sony tryn 2 stop pandora maybe,,,, they r chang n how the update are made so we cant flash Psp….I Think if i were u guy Dont update ,,, @ Orazal - EYE 2 Smell something Fishy so dont take the fish bait LOL THIS UPDATE THAT CAME OUT SO SOON….this update from sony may “LOOK good” but the truth is it a shark…..LOL

    i just have upgraded from 3.71 to 4.01 but my games on my memory stick wont run!!can anybody help me with this? PLEASEEEE

    Simple, Sony released 4.00 and it had a bug or bugs. 4.01 is the fix. * Display of search results under Internet Search has been improved for certain languages.
    * Playback of video content under Video has been improved for certain file types.

    what i think that the m33 is gonna do is put the 4.01 update and still call it 4.00 m33. but i still wonder, could the playback thing in 4.01 be really the long waited divx support?

    really sounds super fishy.who knows maybe these updates is to eradicate cfws, as for me, wont make the same mistake twice, no M33, no updating , i rushed to updating to 3.93 cfw and am regreetting soory VAL

    Told you guys… I gave up on Sony last firmware (4.00).. What’s next?

    Firmware 5.00!! -
    - “Security” Updates
    - Minor “bug fixes”
    - Improved umd support
    - Now you can slow down your videos even more!
    - Added one xmb wave color - darkbutnotblackgrey
    - Changed firmware number under ‘System Information’ to 5.00

    Way to go Sony! Can’t wait for 5.00!

    it isn’t actually 5.00 you muppet. he is going OTT. lol. Sony suck. They made a great system but they are making shitty firmware updates. For the guy who doesn’t know what CFW means,it’s Custom Firmware. If you didn’t know what that is, why were you on this website. DIVX is a video codec. I think it is a bug fix to be honest with you. Sony vs DAX. DAX has more support lol. DAX would win anyway. Doesn’t anyone think that DAX should work for sony to show them how to, you know, make the psp better?

    Isn’t it suspicious that every SONY update includes a “security” update. Mine has never caught a virus and I have been on virus riddled sites with it and it still isn’t infected. Why do we need “security” for the PSP?
    Oh, wait, isn’t it because they are against homebrew? Aren’t they the ones that say “pay US for the games that WE offer”? They are greedy and don’t want people to use the PSP for any other purpose other than to make a tera-profit to them. I have heard that they have gone so far to try to sue the next person that makes custom firmware. How, SONY? They aren’t doing anything illegal, and they aren’t harming you! Leave us alone already!!

    Oh and aren’t the sony PSP updates sounding like the microsoft regular forced (stealth) updates that do more damage than good (I cant use command prompt because of those updates). Is there a similarity here or what?

    I have a HUGE problem.i installed the official 4.01 firmware and now i cant install 4.01M33custom firmware.I followed the instructions correct but when i start the update it shows me:”The game could not be started.(80020148)”.How can i solve this problem?Can be done without pandoras bat. and magic ms??Can these help?Is there an other way?please help me!!!

    I’m having the same problem, all my games that were ripped were good before i installed this without the m33, cuz it wouldnt allow me to install the m33 version without the original, now the m33 wont install, i cant go into recovery mode anymore. Please help, ive ripped sooo many games, itd be a waste of money and time to not be able to play them again.

    (i have psp slim ) man i need help what could i do with official firmware 4.01 i fucked up and updated from 3.72 now i need help if someone has any sugestions email me @ dat_dude@dirtysouthhavoc.com i would just did the m33 of 401 but it didnt work so i did ofw oh yea im a noob to so help will be aprishiated
