PSP Firmware 4.00 Released

has been released by Sony. This slighty lack lustre release features the new internet search feature via google and the ability to control the view speed of videos on the memory stick! Wow I hear you say…. Not much of a release for a x.00 step up in Firmware.

* [Internet Search"] has been added as a feature under [Network"].

* You can now change viewing speed during video playback by pressing the UP/DOWN buttons. Use this feature if you want to watch a video quickly, or if you want to slow down playback and listen to the dialogue carefully.

    So… the ability to play DivX was a rumor after all :(
    Who wants a shortcut for the internet search if you’re able to configure your homepage to be google.com? A bit useless in my opinion.

    This should be the 3.96 release and not 4.00

    I just brought a wicked 1.50 PSP of my buddy for 250 bucks. With this PSP I can downgrade to 4.00 PSP Slim nand right? But where to I hardmod my PSP to support pandoras 3+ ??? And then I can run PSP Slim apps n shitz?

    Sam, go to the forums, there is a bunch of information for you there; read all of it. It seems there are a few things you need to learn. As for DivX you guys, that’s still coming, just not with 4.00. Wait for Home to be released, then you’ll have your DivX.

    I update my psp ver from 3.90m33-3 to 4.0
    But game doesn’t even appear on

    Haikarl Armand: Because its not custom firmware. You need custom firmware for what your after. Go back to 3.90 M33.

    Ugh… Such a major dissapointment. WHAT WHERE SONY UP TO FOR SO DAMN LONG?!?!?!

    Seriously, for a x.00 update you’d expect something special… I mean… First a complete internet browser, then full PS1 game support, and now…… friggin’ GOOGLE! You could just put that as a homepage or bookmark before…

    I know that I’m not updating until I absolutely have to, even if there’s a 4.00 custom firmware.

    Hey Nick. Just go and download the custom firmware and put the update folder in the game folder not iso folder alrite.

    OMFG i upgraded to this f*ckin bull sh*t and i jus now learned that it isnt custom (so no ISO/CSO) how do i get custom firmware back agin i jus want to play isos or csos…Sony bullsh*tted me….devhook not supported either…this sucks…. games gone…

    is Sony gonna come out w/ another custom firmware after this?? keep me posted..

    Ok I downloaded this 4.00 shit and its not even worth my time i need to know how to download a psp slim using 1 memory card 1 psp and only one battery because all my friends dont have custom frimware and that pisses me off big time that i cant downgrade and help them out because if i get this ctw i am able to help others get it too.
    ps ive looked through youtube and stuff like that allready and found nothing plzzzz help me before i get sooo pissed i throw out a window.
