The emulator won’t load any of my roms. It’ll say “loading ROM” for a split second and then disappears. Do I need to unzip them?

June 18, 2008 at 5:21 pm
This really should be taken down…it doesn’t read roms…
Maybe a readme would be nice as to what sort of files it can read.
June 18, 2008 at 6:09 pm
Actually strike that…one of my roms wasn’t working and it just so happened it was the first I chose.

delex, you cannot run emulators on the official sony firmware. You have to have custom firmware intalled. you have to get (or make)a pandora battery. Look at the tutorials on this site.

July 12, 2008 at 9:05 am

July 14, 2008 at 1:37 am
I have everything in working order, but for some reason I cannot get the games to play in the zip format as the description states that this version of DGEN will do. Any ideas?
July 17, 2008 at 7:15 pm
hey do i have to make folders like game and save nd some other stuff
August 5, 2008 at 6:23 am
ok pplz to use this emulator you need you need to downgrade to 1.5 firmware to do this on a slim psp you need pandoras battery this is the only known way so far, for the fat ones you can just download the firmware depending on your current firmware or you might need lumines pandoras battery will also work regardless of your current firmware. then once downgraded get the custom firmwares from sites like psp-hacks.com and install your emulator into the game folder, games go into the emulator folder they do not need to be unzipped the emulator will also support a variety of formats like .smd , .bin etc if the games dont load try changing your kernel from the recovery screen of the psp that is included with custom firmwares 3.3+ ps im still a newbie with my psp got it 2 weeks ago

if you need sega genesis rom file just search torrentz.com for sega genesis roms and download the torrent you will find all the games ! now i just run the emulator on my psp slim and run succesfully i just need to test a rom file ….

sorry i forgot to say what is my FW version is 4.01 M33 this is not offical FW from sony this is a custom FW
August 22, 2008 at 7:59 am
Kyle, your an idiot, you dont need to downgrade to 1.5.
August 23, 2008 at 3:14 pm
Which firmware is best to play Genesis and also GBA games? 3.90 m33, yes???
August 27, 2008 at 12:15 am
Nice emulator, I am currently running 4.01 M33-2. For those of you who have custom firmware and for some reason are having trouble sorting this out, all your roms must be UNZIPPED and in .bin format otherwise they will not load. Also, extract this to the game folder for your kernel, for example, if youre running 4.01 M33-2 it is “GAME 4.XX”, if youre running a earlier version of cfw, then find the GAME folder labeled with the highest number. Hope this helps and again, GREAT emu.

January 17, 2009 at 6:20 pm
OKAY. I’ve tried everything, nothing works. I downloaded the emu and I didn’t know I had to have cfw. so I download 5.02 GEN-A and it said it couldn’t be started (80020148)

This is a great emulator with full sound and graphix and TONS of options. It lets you play sega genesis .BIN files (extracted from the RAR file) if you drag them into your CFG folder in DGEN. Also, DGEN must be put in your game folder for your current firmware, like 5.xx, or 1.5xx, etc.. I use this emulator on a PSP-2001 with 5.xx custom firmware and it runs great! Now I have another thousand games for my PSP thanks to the author/authors of DGEN, much appreciated!
