PSP Custom Firmware 3.80 M33 Almost Ready:

Some good news we have all been waiting for, PSP developer Mathieulh has revealed that the 3.80 M33 firmware is nearly complete and currently boots all user mode homebrew applications. And that all that remains to be finished is the NID Resolver. Which Dark_AleX is working on now. The NID Resolver will allow kernel mode homebrew and plugins designed for previous firmware versions to run on 3.80 M33 without the need for modification.

    My bet is that you will still need a pandora battery to load this if you have OFW.

    You can’t just “install” 3.80 CFW on 3.80 OFW. You need magic memory stick and pandoras battery to get your psp to CFW just like before.

    ok um cooliobunny.. you cant play games or videos or do anything other than unbrick your psp or downgrade it.. unless u convert it which there is really no point in doing if u have another battery for your psp

    umm, I have a problem. I recently purchased a psp and i was able to play games on my mem duo. However, due to my curiousity i updated my psp to 3.8 ofm. As the result, all my games “disappear”. I wonder if by DL 3.80CFM, i can again run my games?

    Answer to 28monkeys: you can not play any iso cso games off your memory if you are using official firmware. You must be using a custom version in which case the latest i believe is 3.71m33 . to play all games of MS you must have CFW. IF you are already at OFW 3.80 i am not sure if you can downgrade 3.80 but surely it can be done with pandora battery

    Answer to dannyboi: if you already have a memory stick and a psp battery you can convert them into this special type you do not have to purchase a new battery or MS. Although the battery i recomend should be a PSP phat battery because ive read that it is strongly disadvised to convert psp slim battery into pandora

    cooliobunny it doesent matter whether your battery is pnadora or not you can convert it back from normal to pandora . it is a little complicated but worth it .

    pandora downgrades and unbricks if u r at 3.80 why would u need to downgrade to 1.50 using pandora to get 3.80 M33?

    once u hav the custom firmware, can u convert back to regular battery and mem card and still hav the firmware?

    answer to cooliobunny: if you have a psp phat, then you need to downgrade to 1.50 or use some of the awesome tools available in the forums to create a MS that install 3.71 M33. If you have a slim, then your slim will get screwed if you downgrade it to 1.50. That kernel isn’t supported by the slim. Once you have CFW on your psp, you can convert your battery back to regular and your memory card back to regular. The CFW is stored inside of the psp’s internal flash.

    To vince or anyone else,

    I owned a psp slim and im unsure if my battery is a pandora. But what i’ve noticed was that my version before the update was 3.71 CFW (if i wasn’t wrong because i was able to run games on flash then) But to my dismay, 3.80OFM caused it to malfunction. So i wish to know if there is a solution to downgrade back my psp slim to 3.71cfm? One solution i found out was using despertar_cementerio3, but i wasn’t sure how it works, and im not sure if my battery is already pandora(ed).
    I hope some one expert enough can help me out. Im in great need to continue my monster hunter2 …PLS HELPP!!!

    Im on psp fat…I now you wondering why vist a psp slim site? becuase new homebrew is usly for psp slim any ways…I want to now to upgrade to this wil I need to go to 3.71 first?

    answer to 28monkey — you don’t have a pandora because you have a slim. slim batteries need to be hard modded (meaning you have to take the battery apart and cut a wire). pandora batteries are normally from the original psp battery made by running a program that creates it to a “service” battery.

    despertar_cementerio3 is run from the games folder of a psp with cfw. this will create the magic memory stick (but you’ll still need the pandora battery to work with this memory stick).

    3.80ofm can be downgraded back to 3.71 m33-4 with someone who has the pandora and memory stick combo.
