VG247 claim to have a highly trusted source with info on new PSP-4000 revision. That the new PSP-4000 will have a sliding screen a complete aesthetic overhaul. Using the existing PSP technology so it won’t be a PSP2….

Much is now known by some parties of the console, which will be announced at either GDC or E3 this year, but cards are currently being clutched very tightly to chests. The revamp does have a sliding front-screen, and we’re assured the design being currently touted isn’t a million miles away from this now-infamous image.

        im not taking any chances. They did the same thing with the 3000. Deny it. Whats the point in that? No wonder Sony fails at marketing. You can’t raise that much hype in less than 2 months to its release date.

        Probably going to deny this, then a month or two later, announce it at E3 or something. But I doubt its going to be all that great. However sliding screen does seem useful and all considering it will be more accessible to play music in my pocket

        lol, bra you are right.But dont ya think psp game companies need $$ like EA, because they know dark alex wiil find one way on how to hack the 3000 so sony is pushing their ass 2 the limite creating the 4000 i dought it .. just like what u said

    I wish sony would stop with new revisions all the time. You know? I mean, seriously, We know why they’re doing it. We must be close to hacking the 3000 if they are working this hard to make another new model.

    I think this is stupid.

    On the other hand…. I am not too partial to the idea of having to buy a new console every two years, so…. Better this than a new console as far as I’m concerned.

    The PSP is still a great console and there is plenty of room for more good games to be released for it. I have only had my PSP for a few months now and I am glad that they are not releasing a PSP2.

    Anyway, really love to see StarCraft 2 for PSP!

    Even if this is not Sonys next design the should definitely consider it. I think they should go with a more flip open design so i can stop scratching my screen.

      I sorta agree, a flip design would make more sense. It would not only protect everything, it’d be a little easier to see the screen when playing. Maybe Sony’s trying too hard to be different.

    They will copy the DS if they can. No but really how about a PSP2 with power like the PS2 or near a PSP3 imagine DX10 style gfx games but portable OMG and mini blu ray

    Of course they’re making a PSP-4000. They’ll make a 5000, then 6000, etc. etc. It’s not really much news. Sony needs to stop these goddamn model revisions give us firmware updates!

      Would be nice a few firmware updates. Sony just need to STOP focusing on hardware and push SOFTWARE for the PSP or it will die. No point having nice hardware with no games!

      by the way, here’s my theory right now: It’s the current PSP hardware without the UMD drive, with a sliding-screen design and a touch-screen for iPhone-like web surfing. Games will be downloadable, and somehow there will be a way to copy UMDs to the new PSPs, somehow…

      I’m probably way off… it’s just a theory :)

    Sold my PSP last year and bought an Xbox 360, but this is looking cool and i might get it, cause sliding screen would be cool…I just hope they will make new games….and better graphics.

    i wish peole stop on this new psp thing we havent got psp-3000 a year old yet and still not hacked so i dont see why sony would be up too make a new psp i would see a new psp and talk about it sum time in 2010 mid summer or fall

    Personally, I think the psp 4000 looks pretty sweet. But I’m expecting that Sony will make a new psp after that, and then a new one after that, and so on. We just have to keep on getting more high tech consoles. It’s a gamers life for me!

    I also remember reading somewhere else that it might not be a PSP-4000 but the called PSP2. So Neil’s comments aren’t so stupid.

    by getting 2 motion sensor the previous generations will become useless…so 2 motion sensors will mean a psp 2 not at all a psp 4000

    jeez sony should just give up , cuz its gonna be hacked sooner or later.

    plus if i were to estimate the better the psp looks and how good the graphics are will determine wheter u will be BROKE or still have cash left. if u think about it it should be no less than $300.

    hopefully they will stop tryin to stop ppl from hackin it and start makin better games or else they will lose customers

    That look seems geared toward the DS design, much less of a psp.

    Second, they should implement an L2 and R2 in the 4000, that or have a usb extension for the buttons.

    i really hope it comes with a touch screen and dual analog sticks. i have a touch screen phone and i sometimes find myself touching my psp 2000 with the tip of my finger. im losing it. lol. i also hope it comes with internal- expandable 16gb memory and a 128bit RAM. Hopefully PS2 games will work if this psp later gets hacked after its released. im looking forward to this.
