Seeing many PSP-3000 users here on the site constantly asking, “What about us PSP-3000 users or TA088v3 PSP-2000 users?” well your times coming as Team GEN hasn’t forgotten about you guys. Custom Firmware 5.03 GEN-B is coming. And will have the same features as Custom Firmware 5.50 GEN-D. So you’ll be able to play Firmware 5.55+ games with out the need of Game Decrypter.
Custom Firmware 5.03 GEN-B will feature:
- PSP-2000 v3 and PSP-3000 support
- PS1/PSOne game compatibility
- Run protected UMDs/backups
- Run 5.55+ required UMDs/backups
- GEN VSH MENU
- Recovery in VSH
Remember in order to use CFW 5.03 GEN-B your going to need a PSP with 5.03 or less firmware. And then ChickHEN R2. Luckily Skyline969 has an easy Custom Firmware 5.03 GEN-A installer, which installs 5.03 firmware, ChickHEN R2 and Custom Firmware 5.03 GEN-A. This will get you up to speed for the 5.03 GEN-B release come 31st October.

Guys, any progress to GEN’s cfw, whether big or small in tweaks is still an improvement. Let us thank them since we are not really paying for them to do this as stated by Jam2Jamaica above. At least it gets better by every release, and let’s just keep our fingers crossed that the features we want to have in GEN cfw will be available in future releases such as access to the PSN store.

Hey blue they prob wont be able to get full access to psn store cause sony is smart and what they do is make so only liek the 3 newest firmwares can use it or somthing so cfw might not be able to get it because as u can see cfw and not the highest firmwares

well considering you need to load chikhen to run gen a and you need both to run the gen b that comes out im sure its not “permanent”

As this cfw is released there will be even more releases for the Ta-o88v3 psp systems great work to GEN allot of users on ofw above 5.03 are still awaiting something that will work for them all I can say is be patient the team that brought R2 is working on a loader that would work for R2 to be installed on ofw above 5.03 it is an open source code prog so it will take time to perfect also just a GEN is about to release cfw 5.03 soon there will be something for you all with ofw above 5.03 there is an exploit that works MOHH but just wait for the release of an e-loader for it or for new cfw

2 things that you can solve that. decrypt and patch your games so that you could play them in your 5.03 GEN A, or try to play games that are already decrypted and patched, they are there, its for you to search.
the next thing is wait for 5.03 GEN B to come out, so you dont have to do anything, the decrypting and patching! that will be tomorrow i guess!

but…
my psp 3000 with 5.03 GEN-A can allready play psx/ps1 games there aint not compatibility issuses
and my psp has a GEN vsh plus the recovery is allreayd in the vsh so realy is
•Run protected UMDs/backups
•Run 5.55+ required UMDs/backupsthe only new thing
but i still cant wait

when you download this cfw, you still have the capabilty of using a GBA emulator right? yeah im sorry about being a noob about all this, i just learned about all of this 4 hrs ago and managed to download the 4.0 cfw, not realizing it wouldnt work for the psp slim 3000, so i came here to find out if this will solve my problem, making it possible to download and play GBA games on my psp using this cfw. PLEASE ANYBODY REPLY, AND LET THIS LITTLE NOOB KNOW HOW ITS DONE!
