The PSP-3000 is unhackable for now...

Dark-Alex has had a look at a pre-release PSP-3000 in Spain and has confirmed what most of us thought, that the PSP-3000 system is Pandora proof at this stage. Universal unbricker / Despertar del Cementerio v7 doesn’t work. Dax comments that this is no doubt due to the fact that the PSP-3000 series must be using the same CPU as the TA-088v3. (Currently unhackable)

- DC7 does NOT work. (Probably already assumed by most of you)
- 3000 version probably has the same CPU as 88v3, or with the same hashes checks made on this second.

No word on when a work around for the new PSP-3000 might be released, only that we just have to be pacient and hope Dark-Alex can work some more magic like he has done so in the past.

    psp version 5.02 is hacked by gripshift don’t update to version 5.03 i did now its unhackable so keep version 5.02

    It’s like a cat and muse games…. On the Wii however as long as you install a drive chip you can update to ANY firmware and backups will still boot the only thing affected is that you will not be able to play Wiiware/virtual console games for free. (Homebrew channel and emulators can be booted from disc)

    On the PSP however it’s like having a softmoded Wii where by one would have to be careful on what updates they install.

    One would have hoped that a fully fledged modchip be released, one that patches the bios and allows booting from MSPro from the original bios (somewhat like the ps2 had) and not just one that replaces the PSP firmware NAND and allows you to safely flash custom firmware on the modchip.

    Maybe in the future there will be a modchip that lets you update it first before updating to Sony’s latest firmware so one could just use the PSP WiFI to update the modchip then update the PSP firmware, in this way compatibility stays to the fullest with software’s

    i think we cant hack for now my name is benjamin and i have a idea for hacks the new psp i didnt try that i wanna change the ipl and after i downgrade to 1.50 and that its impossible because the psp 300 cant downgrade to 1.50 so i need help to hacks that psp my team and me try pandora and magic and but that doesnt work so i think we need a new pandora batterie and create a dessparta del cementerio 9 or 10 i well try to change the ipl and i well try the pandora anf magic with desparta del cementerio 7 or 8

    So all in all what is the verdict? … 6 months into the launch and we still debating if this is hackable or not …

    i bought my PSP 3001 20 days back … unless it is hacked in another month i am going to sell it and buy a 2001 …

    havent heard a lot from DAX from the time he came up with the explaination why the 3000 series cant be hacked…?
    if its just with the X20 code… i cant belive that there is no workaround… all softwares have a workaround even the companies need a flaw to come up with newer products…

    till anything is comming ill try and finish my FF7 and MOH2 am not buying any more UMD after that…

    please send any more info if any one have … ill be watching this space…

    how to hack the new batch of psp 2000? i just bought it and realised it cant be hacked the normal way the psp 2000 can. i asked the shop owner and he told me its a new batch wif 3000 sercurity. i dunno whether wad hes saying is true. any 1 can help me wif this?

    The psp-3000 can be hacked, u just need to buy a new battery from datel called lite blue tool, it lets u make the psp-3000 undergo service mode where u can try to degrade the system, but it comes at a price of 30 USD$. u can buy it at amazon.com. thats where i’ve seen it being sold.

    well these were all the quotes the guys have been getting for the psp1000 and look how far he guys have gone with CFW,there are so many out there that claim to have hacked or have a hacked psp 3000 console,comon guys dont mess around as people are loosing hope and are confused,honestly i
    beleive that its just a matter of time its hacked.

    @afxal: can u tell me where u bought your hacked psp? cause i also live in malaysia, so if it is possible i would like to go confirm wif te shop if it is hacked or not, if it is, i’m going to buy a psp-3000 thats hacked, if not, might as well wait for a real hacked version to be out.

    i think sony paid him good price to do not create custom firmware for psp 3004 , but by the time it will leak to web, i am so sad cause i have psp 3000 but i am not playing it , it can only play games not custom made programs :( , i think sony should let him to do the magic , otherwise no1 will buy psp3000 and if they let him do the magic , but then developers will not create games for psp3004 , sooo tough decision

    @hipofiza i think that he basicaly needs time for hhimself too and he is not putting too much time in his work,i mean its only fair as he cant only be the one to do all the hard work,he needs a break too, so lets just give him some time and before yu know it we would have CFW for 3000

    Even though he could pick to buy a game for a change, but its not worth it, because ori psp games are very very expensive, in Malaysia that is. well, I’m still considering if i should get a hacked psp-2000, or wait for psp-3000 to be hacked, if it’s not hacked by next year, then i’ll see the price of psp-2000, if it’s a price i can buy then i’ll buy it. if not, i might as well buy a psp-3000 when i get back to America. :(

    Here’s what i dont get. PSP initially was a fluke. didnt sell as expected. I didnt want to buy it. Until the homebrew scene found this hardware. Then the sales got skyhigh.. Ok. Protect the console and (theoretically) games sell better. I see this action by sony as declaration of enough consoles sold and now want to satisfy the game-makers.. I’ve no doubt the next console will be more easy to hack (as sales of psp-3000 are gonna be low).. so, meanwhile by the psp-2000 cause it’s cool, homebrewy and fun anyways.. ;p

    PSP SLIM 3000 is unhackable? It cannot be downgraded? I have this PSP now. I only buy UMDS’ for this. I want to downgrade it. Is there no other way to downgrade it? ‘coz i spend a lot of money.

    as yet its unhackable, but never the less time can only tell, as from what ive read and the guys that are
    busy working with this they say that they are so close to hacking it but yet so far, so its just
    a test of time but never say never,as these were the same thoughts when the first psp 1000 series were out and look at the progress that was made, dont give up on it.

    I have been reading this post and wondering… maybe we CAN hack the 3000. I have been thinking, would it be possible to replace the IPL file of the 1000 or the 2000 and with the one on the 3000. Then maybe we can be getting somewhere.

    I wonder if Chainsm0kerTM may be able to help with this suggestion.

    dudes we need more hakers we need to stop relying on dark alex for everything i have been studying the recent situtation for the past few weeks and have been trying to learn how to create unsigned code to a psp 1000 and 2000. if i could learn that and learn the code for a 3000 then maybe i could do it. if anyone know any psp 3000 code specs data etc. i will work on it.

    but da thinks it has sum protection that 1000 n 2000 dont

    Guess i will have to google it, a friend of mine is currently trying to hack the psp 3000
    and has come close but there’s still alot more to be done to make the hack
    stable as he did manage to get a copied iso to be played from what he has said to me
    but only for a second or two and then the console crashed and now its bricked with
    no come back…
