The PSP-3000 is unhackable for now...

Dark-Alex has had a look at a pre-release PSP-3000 in Spain and has confirmed what most of us thought, that the PSP-3000 system is Pandora proof at this stage. Universal unbricker / Despertar del Cementerio v7 doesn’t work. Dax comments that this is no doubt due to the fact that the PSP-3000 series must be using the same CPU as the TA-088v3. (Currently unhackable)

- DC7 does NOT work. (Probably already assumed by most of you)
- 3000 version probably has the same CPU as 88v3, or with the same hashes checks made on this second.

No word on when a work around for the new PSP-3000 might be released, only that we just have to be pacient and hope Dark-Alex can work some more magic like he has done so in the past.

    PS. On a serious note. I gave up on the 3000 awhile back. Im more than happy with my modded 2000. I have personally owned the 3000, and I did a side by side comparison and review for it. I compared it to my 2000, and I wasnt impressed. Especially now that the LCD issues that the 3000 has have been discovered. Unless they fix the LCD (which Sony said they have no plans in doing) than I wont get the 3000. I would post a link to that review but everytime I even mention another site here my posts get deleted. Anyways my 2 cents is very simple. 2000 all the way. Grab one now before they are literally all gone. Walmart still has a ton of them. And if you cant find one at a store theres always the site that rhimes with deejay. If you know what I mean.

    To amgonnabuyda3000soon, if you look up PSP1000 on ebay you can find them new out of the box if you want a hackable psp, even gamestop sells refurbished psp1000. For the rest of you who who want to play homebrew games, follow my advice, for the record ChainsmokerTM….LMAO @ iq test to post, good stuff right there!

    kidsmilk, if you pay attention, 2k and 3k suck, sell that 3k, get 5.00 m33 cfw and you can buy stuff from big brothers psstore, if there is not an icon on your psp 1000, type in the ps stores url…..its not rocket science.

    thanx 4 da advise but i dont buy things of e-bay no more after i bought a faulity ps2 :( and dey wouldnt return it and after that i have never bought anythiong preowned or referbished as they are likley to have something wrong with them. I checked out GAMEs website (www.game.co.uk) and they are still selling the psp slim and lite for £110 (with a game) at the moment i dont have the money to purchase the product and by the time i do have the money (around the end of january) i rekon the product would be sold out.

    Hi, I have a 1003 Model that is running 3.95, i have been able to make the pandora battery ok, but cannot make the magic memory stick, could anyone pleae help me in making the memory stick. much appreciated. I have a 32mb card and a 8gb card, tried making differnet version of the magic memory stick, but no luck.

    Listen, I don’t doubt that the 2K isn’t better than the 3K, I just think we still need to try and figure out some solutions for the 3K. I mean, it’s all about having FULL ownership of the products we buy. I mean, it’s all about unlocking the full potential of Sony’s evil little beast machine. There are a lot of possibilities, I mean, casemods, softmodding, even some of the camera mods and such, it’s all about us taking something and making it better.

    archy, there are genuine, mem sticks and fake mem sticks, make sure you get the one made by sony, preferrably the 1gb at minimum, wait until you have sucessfully installed cfw. just you tube or google fake magic memory stick and you will find the answers.
    kidsmilk…..if you knew anything about the psp, you would find that the phat, even though its big and ugly, is by far, the best psp to hack….only the psp 2k models that came without the v88 motherboard are hackable. If teh 3k was hackable, then yes i would favour it over the 1k, yes its only a matter of time but cmon, how cool is it to run linux on a psp? how awesome is it that its a million times better than any palm pc out on the market.

    I agree i love the the 2k and 3k style, but its on lockdown, thats why i love the phat because its fully open. google is the way to find the most common answers to the most common questions, what it is not, is a source of info from behind the “scene”. dig deeper.

    guys i found a way to hack but, it can only work on 1 condition don’t go to USA or Canada or countries from Europe go and buy a memory stick from countries other than the above since its fake its already hacked i know because i went to KSA on my vacation and i went to an electronic store and saw the owner hack a 3k i told him if he could hack mine it dint work because i bought mines from Canada and its real there unlike KSA its fake there so you have to buy another stick i didn’t because i didn’t stay there for a long time so i forgot. anyways if its fake its cheaper by about 10-20$ so get a fake stick now if your not patient enough for alex

    And are u proposing that buying a fake MS and creating that into a Magic Memory Stick will hack a PSP that works in a different way than what the 2K and 1K works? Read up on the explanation that was posted here that makes the recent versions of PSPs unhackable…xD

    Yeah, mate, using a “Fake” memory stick will only cause it to fail to pass the magicgate check, which will do absolutely jack and sh*t to your psp, it certainly isn’t the answer to hacking it. The problem also isn’t with any region-specific hardware, so u been had, son. Honestly, I miss my 1001, it was awesome. I wish I’d never sold it. My Darth Vader White 2K is nice, especially with the Acid Mods LED hack I performed on it(Now featuring sound-reactive light-saber red LEDs on my shoulder buttons!), seriously, acidmods rule for easy-to-follow tutorials. But yeah, the 1k was probably the pinacle of Sony’s PSP design, other than the TV out, but that’s not that important. What is important is the fact that the PSP 1000 can run SNES emus and I had forgotten how much fun Rock N’ Roll Racing and Battle Toads Vs. Double Dragon really were, lol! Damn 1.5 kernel!

    Hey guys, Ive been reading up on this daily, but havent posted much because it wont let me post when I use my PS3 as my browser. Anyway Im posting because I read chainsmokers, and kidsmilks posting about SNES, the 1001, and 1.5 kernel. I dont know if you guys know this, but you DO NOT need to run 1.5 kernel, or use a 1001 (fat psp) to run the emus. I have SNES, NES, and several other emus running on my 2001 slim, with 4.01m33. And I play all the classics, like Contra, the original Mario Karts, Mike Tyson punchout, and every other SNES, and NES game out there. And trust me I can find ANY game. I even saw Sega, Turbografix 16 (you have to be old to know this one), and a bunch of emulators I hadnt even heard of. If you are interested in getting these emus for your slim, let me know, Ill get the names and post them. but trust me, its possible. In my opinion the 2000 series is better then the 1000′s. Unless you want to run Linux, (which I honestly dont even know what it is). Other than that the 2000 can do everything the 1000 does. And I actually like the tv out option. I hook up my slim to my 42″ plasma using a set of component cables and play all my games, and everything else my psp does supersized. Ill say it once again. The PSP 3000 sucks. Get a 2000, hack it. And youll no longer even care if it gets hacked or not. Anyway take it easy guys and as always God Bless…… Custnam OUT!

    dear custam do you believe that if you hack a fake 3k and a fake memory stick. (I’m not sure if stick also needs to be fake)because at the electronic store that guys said he could and i said he couldn’t once he tried and before he tried to hack it i said he couldn’t because be bro is helping me hack 3k and he couldn’t find a way so once he failed and had an argument he inferred that mines a real one and that was true and he said i should get a fake and also custam i tried sending comment on my 3k on January 7 on my 3k and i also couldn’t i think that since ps3 and psp have different ip than our computer or laptop and trying to put the same email i think this website is protected that two different ip shouldn’t use the same email maybe it think that other dude righting a random one don’t you agree?

    i forgot to mention that that’s his old psp he just repackaged it very good and cleaned his screen but i doubt his psp is old and used it before i think it’s new on the other hand but the memory stick is old and downloaded the games on it then he hooked it up to his 3k

    is the psp blocked from downgrading or does the firmware state that it cant go lower.

    If the latter then wouldnt it be possible to decompile one of the eairlier firmwares, change it so the psp thinks its a newer one (it would still be an original firmware so maybe it would pass authentication). Then just upgrade it to a hacked firmware.

    is this reasonable or do i sound like a fing idiot.

    Before you say more about this subject, we would like to thank Matiaz Freeplay and for opening the way to this achievement.The flaw found by Matiaz was not until yesterday, exploitable via the euro GripShift. If the flaw exists, it should find the matching addresses to get to launch the code. The weekend was long but our favorite developers have managed to do the right thing for this to work

    But then, our development team has therefore come to find out what was announced as yet impossible Freeplay and friends, exploitation Kernel mode via the flaw GripShift.Indeed, she found a way to activate the Kernel mode and, quite logically, to successfully install a HEN which allows the use of the advantages of a Custom Firmware without having to flash his console.
    Let us be clear, this is not a Custom Firmware but it allows access to the benefits of it: * Launching homebrews (Kernel mode or user mode) Launch games in ISO/CSO format * etc. etc..

    Got a psp-1000 and loving it for about 2 years. Not a single bad recollection. Would like the video out function, but as said: wouldnt buy something with glitchs on the images (lcd)..

    Anyway.. am I the only one to read what kidsmilk write as if said by Abul from The Simpsons??..
