Things are indeed heating up on the homebrew scene. Looks like homebrew is coming to that PSP-3000 of yours. Davee has reported he has a working Kernel exploit on the way for the PSP-3000 / Ta88v3 Motherboards that will enable homebrew. Rather than rephrase what davee has posted, I’ll just quote it :)

HEN will be a stripped down enabler lacking many features of M33 custom firmware. It’ll allow the bootup of homebrew regardless but may be restrictive to certain applications (in cases where it will not boot at all). However, applications will be released to enhance the HEN such as the loading of M33 custom firmware when I get permission to use the modules.

As another note, the conditions of the as very unstable (as you might have noticed) and flashing of modules to flash0 is improbable and will load off the memorystick. An eboot will be supplied to countervent this and will flash the modules in a more stable enviroment.

Release is currently unconfirmed but will be before Tuesday.

    Hi everybody,

    I just bought a PSP 3000 2 weeks ago so I’m new to the PSP scene. Lately I have been doing a lot of reading and research about all this CFW and HEN stuff so I can get an idea of how it works. In order for me to install this new HEN that’s coming out, do I need a Pandora’s battery and that special memory stick to do this like for the CFW?

    people people, chill, it will happen k :-) its just like anything that you try to modify, you always get new problems that arise, and they will be delt with. I got a psp3002 wit 5.03 ofw and I got the tiff exploit work, I agree to a few last posts HEN is way safer. I have been moding psp’s from when they 1st came out and remember the 1st HEN(good times that was) that hit the scene, so with this new tiff exploit it is realy great news-thats a dam good loop hole. Even if iso’s and cso’s wont be supported, someone else will ad this in, same as it has been done in the past. Its like the one of the pandora batts that I made in the past, all of the software was in bits and was 100% legal to upload and download, but was up to me to put it together and make it work (which it did and modded heaps of psp’s to cfw) Just like heaps others said………be Patient people, it will happen :-)

    Exploit works for sure I testet it some ppl dont think it works cuzz ether they are stupid enough to forgen to put the h.bin fil in the root or the mem stick or not to put 7 other images in your image map (other than the tiff file ofc)

    yea it does work for sure, a bit unstable tho and it does sweet f*** all. but thats just the beginning. HAHA, I bet SONY is going “SH*T, WE STUFFED UP, how did we miss that”
    Makes you wonder if they just done this to see what happens. Now their like “Hey…….lets make an update to cover it up” please stop wasting our time, we payed to get the unit and it don’t really do much standard, does it.
    If SONY wasnt so tight (skweek when they walk) people wouldnt hack the psp, and lets face it………the UMD sux-its too data size is way too small, oooooooooo a microphone, OMG…..lame. Hence, we will keep hacking untill the end of time

      stay calm, it will work for u. maybe u’ll need to upgrade it to 5.00 or 5.03 OFW, but probably it will not be a big deal.

      anyway, wait for the release before doing any changes on your psp ;)

    Damn it, I’m so stupid, I upgraded my PSP 3000 to 5.50, so when this big “Hacking-software” is released, will it run on the 5.50 firmware too? Or is there some downgrader program that allows me to downgrade from 5.50 to version 5 or lower? Please, I really need your help!

      sorry, but this HEN will not work on your psp

      u’ll need to wait until somebody find an exploit on 5.50 OFW =(

      your is just to hope that they find exploit for 5.50version if not u will never get custom firmware i have 4.20 and i even didnt tryed it to update bcouse what lower ofw u have its bigger chanse it gets hacked bcouse it has more holes in it :D
