Things are indeed heating up on the homebrew scene. Looks like homebrew is coming to that PSP-3000 of yours. Davee has reported he has a working Kernel exploit on the way for the PSP-3000 / Ta88v3 Motherboards that will enable homebrew. Rather than rephrase what davee has posted, I’ll just quote it :)

HEN will be a stripped down enabler lacking many features of M33 custom firmware. It’ll allow the bootup of homebrew regardless but may be restrictive to certain applications (in cases where it will not boot at all). However, applications will be released to enhance the HEN such as the loading of M33 custom firmware when I get permission to use the modules.

As another note, the conditions of the as very unstable (as you might have noticed) and flashing of modules to flash0 is improbable and will load off the memorystick. An eboot will be supplied to countervent this and will flash the modules in a more stable enviroment.

Release is currently unconfirmed but will be before Tuesday.

    This past Tuesday (the 21st of April, 2009) was supposedly going to be the official release date. Davee has ran into a few problems though, and requires additional time to get it to work properly. Here is his own words:

    hand davee found a bug and hes fixing it but he has exams and will put files out on saturday or later so plz be patient!!!!!! also if u want it on ur psp 3000 or and DONT UPGRADE O 5.50 OR U CANT GET IT!

    I just know that the original psp’s can be hacked(yours) through downgrading(using pandora). Yes, you can use the hen instead you’ll just have to wait until either this weekend to get if from Davee, or some other time. I myself have a psp 3001 and ofw 5.03, so ya I HAVE TO USE THE HEN, but you don’t. (Just Saying If You Want To Save Trouble Then Use The Hen Instead- Its a safer method. ^_^

    yes the hen will work on all all firmwares, but not 5.5 so DONT UPGRADE. it also works on the psp 3002

    The exploit will work on ALL PSPs, from Phat to Slim to Brite. All of them will work. You will be able to successfully put this on your Phat PSP, as long as your firmware isn’t upgraded to 5.5, because in 5.5 Sony patched the exploit.

    DON’T UPGRADE TO 5.5!

    1. This hen will work on ALL PSP’s
    2. Release date is temporarily Saturday
    3. No ISO
    4. This hen is a safer method and faster, to install
    5. DO NOT UPGRADE TO 5.50 Offical Firmware, if you do then say GOODBYE to this Hen
    6. Just wait for it, patience ^_^

    Can anybody confirm if the homebrew app UMDEmulator will be able to load ISO and CSO files? Or will something in Davee’s HEN prevent this from working? I know he’s not implementing ISO and CSO files, and he said that he won’t be putting any restrictions on anything. But nobody has mentioned the UMDEmulator yet and it seems like a pretty obvious fix for the lack of ISO and CSO problem.

    Can anybody shed some light on this?

      Probably someday an ISOloader will be developed. For now be happy whit homebrews =)

    yeah i just got a psp for christmas… well 2 one i bought and i thought i lost it ans then my gf boiught me another one for my bday FEB23 but then i found my other psp so i gave it to my lil bro. but yeah i wish we could ise this homebrews to find a way to play PSone games.. lol i love the classics. i owned a sh** load of them. well if anyone knows let me know

    No you will not be able to play PS1 games with the HEN. Davee (the HEN developer) will not be adding ISO/CSO or POP support. This means that PS1 games will not be supported. You’ll have to wait until another developer adds it, because Davee has made it very clear that he will not be doing this.

    Homebrews are apps or utilities, etc., that you can put on your PSP. There’s tons and tons of homebrews, but some notable ones would be emulators (GBA, SNES, N64, Sega, etc.), or user-created games.

    There is also a UMD emulator, which enables you to play PSP games, but I’m not sure if it’ll work with this HEN or not because I’m not sure if Davee’s lack of ISO/CSO support will affect it.

    This site has some homebrews, you should check it out. :)

    To the best of my knowledge you can play gameboy games and snes games and other apps like ebook readers etc. if thats any help. at least i hope you can do all these things!

    Yes you will. The only remotely solid N64 emulator is still in a beta stage, and it’s not particularly stable yet. But it does work fine as far as I’ve seen.

    There is a new reply from DAVEE !! sorry but since no other sites seem to have noticed , and nobody here has mentioned it (or i must have missed it ) i will give the link…..well…i kinda forgot…ill search right now !!
    But davee said : I will be on a trip starting THURSDAY , untill saturday , and will have NO INTERNET ACCESS at that time . Thats why we haven’t heard from him huh , gues that must be it then . well , then there’s point 2 : Its saturday right NOW … will he reply ??? or even release HEN ??? probably not… but it would be great…no ?
