PSP-3000 gets a new motherboard, meet the TA-093

PSP modder Flasher over at PSPGEN has recently discovered Sony have yet again released a new motherboard in the PSP-3000. Revision TA-093 sports a few changes in the motherboard design, UMD drive loading mechanism, the power plug and shoulder buttons.

These changes are likely to be the result of production cost cutting and fixing any issues in the design. Common practise and something we have seen many times before. Less components = Less cost, perhaps Sony even threw in a few anti hackng measures to boot? Its doubtful since the early TA-90 models thwart any service mode batteries aka a Pandora Battery.

      i took a trip to ca, and stayed at a hotel with supposedly FREE wifi.
      went here and tried to download an old version of game categories,disconnected, and found out they charged me $10 for downloading 30kb.
      I feel your pain, man.

      Uhh why would I add free features to a console when idiot pirates pirate my platform? If they did add it, people would still use custom firmware and pirate games so it’s a waste of money for Sony to do that. Better to save money by not including components then waste more money. :\

    First of all, WTF IS WITH THE WEIRD ASS MUSIC!? second maybe Sony has silently patched a security problem with the old 3000 motherboards. Maybe there is a flaw that hacked haven’t found? Come on think positive people

      he could have a point.
      maybe sony is finally doing something about hackers instead of just sitting there with a motherboard they think is made of something indestructible.
      maybe we have spent too much time laughing at those who have purchased a 3000 instead of searching for exploits, and maybe sony even found an exploit before us.

    bite= not have fun for the moment, because releasing something new like this contains secrets, e.g. hard to hack

    sort of we are like the hackers, but i meant the gen team, team typoon, dark alex, etc. so that we will know the limitations of hacking this motherboard. i guess the hacking for this one is harder than 6.20.

    Well ive got the psp 3000 i got it like 4 months ago so i guess im safe from this new motherboard
    even tho ive lost hope at hacking my psp 3000 as its OFW is 6.20 and will proberly have to wait a VERY long time.. right?

      well, the only usual reason sony made a new motherboard is to block hackers(ta-088v3), so if sony did find a big problem staring us right in the face, you COULD be safe with an older motherboard, not sure for now.

      Not just Sony…. Microsoft has done it and is still doing it. But it is certianly is effective. I’ll bet they dont want to fire there anti hacker devisions soo. Better keep them working dont want any disgruntaled employee’s joining the darkside.

    im pretty much a new user of the psp 3004!! it had ofw 5.01 on it and i have already upgraded it to 5.03 to run the chickhen R2 and it worked!! but the weekend i have bought the new game ( MX VS ATV REFLEX ) and i was so excited to play the fucking thing!! but to start the game it popt up that i should install ofw 6.10 so i did it because i did not know if the chickhen aint gonna work anymore!!! sooo im FUCKT rite now!!!

    can anybody please help me with CFW or any other super genuiss idea!!! to hack my psp 3004 (OFW6.10)
    PLEASE HELP!!!! VERY IMPORTANT!!!!

    I just want to know the purpose of that additional processor that’s as big as the one that’s already there… What could that be for? It must be important because they wouldn’t need one of that caliber if it was to serve some small insignificant purpose.

      or it could be sony’s indestructible ipl memorystick manager.
