Prometheus Module v0.4. Run 6.20 Games on CFW 5.50 GEN *Updated*

Second Edit (14th June): Module v0.4 has been released, MGSPW is now supported and you need to use the MGSPW directory for the module (MGSPW directory is inside the rar).

Edit: Prometheus Module v0.3 Final released. Not much has changed from 0.3, just a fix with games on PSP-3000 5.03 GEN-C like EVA. The new final download is below.

has released version 0.3 of his Prometheus module, this lets users play 6.20 games without the need of a plug-in on Custom Firmware 5.00 M33 & 5.50 GEN. Changes in v0.3 include Anti NPDRM checking (so its working with no UMD in NP9600 mode) and if the module fails the game will now exit instead of lock up.

*Note if your still using Custom Firmware 5.00 M33, then you need too decrypt all PRX files (EBOOT.BIN，PSPGAME/USRDIR/MODULES/*.PRX) then repack the ISO

Prometheus v0.4 changelog:

* Fixed gold strings 3 can not run in the final version of the question 0.3
* Add MGSPW features free installation. Please use the MGSPW directory module.

Prometheus Module v0.3 Changelog:

# Code optimized.
# Anti NPDRM checking, working w/no-UMD NP9600 mode
# If module starts failed, game will be exited.


How to work it:

1. back up your UMD game disk to ISO format. (How to here)

2. Use WQSG_UMD (UMDGEN / WinRAR to extract the original PSP_GAME\SYSDIR\EBOOT.BIN into a temp folder, decrypted, then rename to EBOOT.OLD

3. Extract the prometheus.prx & EBOOT.BIN into above temp dir.

4. Drag the three files and drop into WQSD_UMD. Save the ISO

5. Done, copy the modified ISO to your MS

      LOL! the instruction above is really easy to understand.

      there’s a little note there that if you’re on 5.00 m33, you still need to decrypt the PRX files and the eboot.

      you should try do it first, then just make your own instructions (if only you’re successful)

    appreciate if someone do post a video for Gen D3 & M33-6. This is still confusing, if we need to extract the eboot.bin to some temp folder & to add the 2 rest of the files to ISO, then whats the point of using WQSG_UMD???

This is NOT A PSP CFW but just a plugin that will let users play the latest PSP Game on their PSP that are running PSP CFW 5.00 M33, This PSP 6.20 M33 Plugin was develop by PSP Homebrew Developer Torky to give users a chance to run their latest game on their PSP CFW . This PSP 6.20 M33 PRX is still under development according to the developer, But promise to release a updated version soon to offer more compatibility for the PSP .       hei you should rename the original eboot.bin that is came from game then you decrypt it and rename it to Eboot.old

    do you know the plugin “KHBBS v5″?..if you have that plugin enabled in your psp 5.03gen, 5.50gen d3 or 5.00m33…all games that requires 6.20fw will now work!…its so simple just copy paste two items to your psp then you can now play 6.20 games!!!!!

    Hey… I´m using 5.50 GEN-D3, and the ISO Folder is just like the screen-shot showed above… and the game just don´t get started… can anyone help me?! I´m using no UMD NP9600 mode. PS.: I´m using Windows 7 to make the changes on the ISO with WQSG_UMD.

      Are you the Adminsitrator of you PC? Which Win version are you using? Where are the game ISO file? On the psp?! Let mt know…so I´ll try to help you. But I still can´t get the ModNation Racer´s to run!

    Ok, no one seems to be answering my questions or concerns. So maybe this might work. Ok I found a way where if you don’t have the Actual UMD you can still play 6.20 Games all you have to do is KHBBS folder in the root of the memory stick and place all the plug-ins in the vsh folder. I am currently using 5.03 Gen-C(Full) Now the way I did it worked with great success, but ever since I did that it froze on me a few times and of course I had to start all over again. When I booted ChickHen everything worked, but when I booted 5.03 Gen-C Full the system started to lag to the point where it seemed like the system was processing too much and would not go any faster and the screen started to shake. Now could it be that the reason why it’s doing that is because of the plug-ins and the system is trying recognize and process them all at the same time? or could it be something else?. Has anyone come across this problem, because it seems like i am the only one that this has happened to?

      thats what im telling in my post above…you can play 6.20 games with just one simple plugin..im on 5.03 gen-c full and all my games are for 6.20 like modnation racers, mgs peace walker, naruto unh3, god eater , kingdom hearts birth by sleep…all at full english except for god eater, its 50% eng translated…….i love the KHBBS plugin!!!!

    it works!

    here’s my simple instruction:

    download these 2 files: (Prometheus v0.4 – 47.3 KiB) & (WQSG_UMD SVN R31 (UMD editor tool) – 160.3 KiB)

    then download the game; ISO, which you cant play .. or need firmware 6.20 above…

    now you will have 3 files ready on your desktop … prometheus, WQSG_UMD & game ISO

    extract and open WQSG_UMD file.. there click on button open ISO … search your iso game then open it… you will see directory .. go into the directories.. export PSP_GAME\SYSDIR\EBOOT.BIN into a temp folder, decrypted, then rename to EBOOT.OLD ..

    now, open your prometheus file and extract the 2 files there… prometheus.prx & EBOOT.BIN

    now you have 3 files.. prometheus.prx, EBOOT.BIN & EBOOT.OLD

    drag the 3 files into WQSG_UMD window box … that’s it.. just close it.. then copy the game iso into your mmc

    HELLO EVERY ONE! AND KRYSTRA81… AND EVONRACER…
    I got the game MOD NATION RACERs to run on my 5.50GEND-d and on my friend´s PSP 5.05 GEN… but how?! Easyer… download the KBBSS plugin from http://www.4shared.com/file/OH5ZHZh0/Plugin_KHBSS_620_Games_on_CFWw.html and fallow this steps:

    1. Copy KHBBS to the root of your MMS!
    2. On SEPLUGINS, open the GAME.TXT file, or create it if does not exist.
    3. Type this on it: ms0:/KHBBS/Parche_BIXU.prx 1
    4. Save the GAME.TXT. (If it´s an other line on GAME.TXT just ADD this one!
    5. Now, activate this plugin from your RECOVERY MENU.
    6. DONE! Put the game on your ISO folder and try to run it!

    PS.: You have to falow the steps from the main post… some games you don´t need to decrypt!

        I already knew that, I posted the same thing when NARUTO 3 and Prince of Persia came out about a few weeks ago, but wait a minute there is no 5.05 Gen yet, the latest is 5.03 Gen-C(full)? and while you are at it keep an eye on your friends PSP because when i started doing the same thing that you just did my psp started to lag and the screen shakes, just a warning so keep an eye. i am trying to figure out why it does that. I have a PSP 3001 model.

        well, i got KH: BBS already way before seeing this page and i still haven’t got it to run, its just don’t know how decrypt, since i never done this before.

        never mind what i posted before, what i want to ask is, does this work with GEN C only or it can be use on any CFW example: CFWE 3.60. because i’m using CFWE 3.60 on PSP 3004.

        @ krystra81 if you have a vsh menu plugin, you can go to recovery by pressing select button in your xmb and locate “recovery menu” then press X then go to plugins and enable it

        Entering recovery mode means turning my psp fully off right? And that means my CFWEnabler 3.60 will be gone, since i use psp 3000. I’m trying to install ultimate vsh menu but i don’t know how to do it on psp 3000

        @krystra81 just google for the instructions for vsh menu……..if you will enter recovery menu using vsh menu, you dont need to turn off your psp..

        i got the Ultimate VSH MENU running. now the problem is, activating the plugin because when i got to RECOVERY MENU on PLUGIN -> i can’t find anything except back. i already put ms0:/KHBBS/Parche_BIXU.prx 1in my GAME.TXT in seplugin file. and i how do you get out of RECOVERY MODE? because i press suspend device just now, and my psp rebooted

        I GOT THE PLUGIN TO WORK! i have no idea how i did it though, i just went to RECOVERY MODE before going to bed, the pulgin was still empty, then i press anything that seems less dangerous. i press toggle USB 2 times, Configuration and Registry. (which turn it off) then hack it back again as usual and try KH:BBS, WHICH WORKED! i still don’t know how to exit RECOVERY MODE, but i’m too happy that i don’t care xD

    Kuz, the ModNationRacers.EUR-FIX.ISO and POPTFS.ISO there is the files listes bellow.

    ModNation: PSP_GAME\SYSDIR\
    BOOT.INI, EBOOT.INI, OPNSSMP.BIN
    PrinceOfPersiaTFS: PSP_GAME\SYSDIR\
    BOOT.INI, EBOOT.INI, OPNSSMP.BIN

    The OPNSSMP.BIN files aew already decrypted with the PRXdecrypter. (I downloaded these ISOfiles with this file already decrypted within!

      Hey thanks for the shout out. I think what its saying is just to rename the eboot.bin to eboot.old. I think thats what it means. I could be wrong.

      Hey, have u tried the new 5.03 prometheus custom firmware? It is said that you can play all new games and doesn’t need any plugins to play new games it is already embedded in the firmware. I haven’t tried it, cuz of my problem with my psp and is being repaired, but when I do get it back I will try it.
