Sony Launches PC PlayStation Store:

Sony has launched the official PC PlayStation Store. PSP / PS3 are now able to now purchase downloadable content. Full PSP games like Wipeout and classic PSOne games. And users can download these straight from their PCs without needing a PS3.
If you have a PlayStation Network account ID already on your PS3 you don’t need to re-register.
This is great news, I would mind seeing the content extended, hopefully Sony will be on to that shortly. With more titles and PSone games for download it should take off. And at the price of 5.99USD each for a PS1 title that’s not bad at all.

I wonder if its safe for psps running custom firmware to allow their Network Downloader direct access to your psp? If you read their privacy statement, terms and conditions, their Network Downloader can act as a spyware to read what files are stored on the memory stick, and also know if you’re running custom firmware or not… scary stuff…
I’ve signed up myself to take a look. There’s even an Activate / Deactivate feature in the Account Management. In their own words, “By activating the PSP® system, you can use it to play content downloaded on your PLAYSTATION®Network account”
Has anyone with custom firmware tried to purchase and play their stuff?

I don´t think they would be spying to see if we have custom firmware. They they could send a code to brick our psp´s lol.
They even have a free Wipeout game offer http://ie.playstation.com/home/news/articles/detail/item86565/

I Tried but.. it give me a message that says: you need to update your PSP software. So I guess playstation network checks your PSP version and if is not the original then you cannot download anything.
