Nintendo DS Emulator for PSP: DSONPSP v0.7

Yoshihiro is back and with yet another speed increase for DSONPSP the emulator for PSP. Its a port of DeSmuME which is a multi format emulator. Notable changes are a new cursor has been added with two colors, plus a further speed increase and a few bug fixes. Keep the updates coming Yoshihiro, at this rate the DS PSP emulation will be faster than the N64 PSP emulation!

DSONPSP v0.7 Changelog:

  • Speed increase, again
  • Use L & R for touch screen
  • Cursor added with 2 colors: black or white.
  • Frameskip set at 2 by default
  • Fixed FPS counter as well
  • Source code will be added on SVN soon

      Heh well thats normal, its on DS game that maxes out the DS’s limits. So much 3D isn’t one of the DS’s strengths

      Okay, first off its obvious that DS isn’t the best system for 3D. Secondly, if you can play Chinatown Wars on a DS emulator for PSP then u have the ability to use CFW Enabler, and therefore you can play PSP iso’s and play Chinatown wars on a system that is much better at 3D. Why would u even attempt to waste time playing the piece of crap DS version of the game.

    Chrono Trigger started of decent, slow but decent. It showed the world map and the festival with balloons and fireworks but hung after it tried to go on after that. Also, I can’t seem to change the language settings, it keeps starting of with French no matter which number I select. Major improvement though, before it didn’t even start.

    I tried to play Pokemon Pearl and Pokemon HeartGold on it.

    Pearl: Freezes
    HeartGold: Shuts PSP off completely

    I got 5.00-m33 and cannot get it to start. It appears on the Game-Memory Stick menu but when I start it it stays on blank screen. Any help would be appreciated.

        lol both are fun to play but I prefer a PSP over a DS anytime. Can you listen to music and go online (the internet) at the same time with a DS? ANSWER: NO. Can the DS play PSP, GBA, N64, SUPER NINTENDO games etc.? ANSWER: NO. The PSP is clearly the best PORTABLE system to have when its MODDED!! Other than that I’ll play both systems lol. I like both systems dont get me wrong but as I stated the PSP and DS is the most preferable portable system out there for certain certain age groups.

    Well, now the 3 roms I have will start up. I am wondering, when they say speed is increased, what game/s are they refering to??
    Mouse is a bit slow. UMK3, NSMB, SM64DS run slow.
    UMK3: You can get to the UMK3 or Puzzle Kombat select screen but thats it
    NSMB: Just get to the Nintendo Screen for a while. Then after a good wait, you get to select Mode and File select. But video is at a crawl its not even funny.
    SM64DS: Get to the Touch to Start and can not do anything else.

    To all of that are getting there hopes up on this DS Emu for the PSP. I think it`s awesome too, to be able to play DS games, SNES games, NES games, Sega games, and so on on the PSP. But you all need to keep in mind each of these run best with the console they are made for. Just because the PSP can emulate a lot of these older consoles and the DS doesn`t make the PSP a best console. That all depends on what the end user likes most. We don`t need no posts calling people faggots because they own a DS or whatever. It is sad to see and hear.

    erm… does it work on custom firmware 5.00 m33-4
    it appears in the game folder but when i start pokemon pearl/diamond it gives me a white screen and after awhilw PSP auto shut down…
    any help please?

    I think its comical that children think the DS is better than the PSP. The PSP kicks DS’s @SS in graphics, sound, functionality, even customization and that’s with official firmware. Honestly how can you say the DS is better? Who can emulate who? … I mean, seriously?! DS is for little average kids and PSP is for above intelligence kids and up. I will say though that the DS has alot of fun games that are lacking on the PSP, also the PSP’s potential is rarely pushed and unfortunately 1 out of 10 releases are even worth playing. Thats really sad and I wish I knew how to program better cos I’m so passionate about the PSP and its almost limitless capabilities. I think is awesome there is a DS emulator cos it will bring some great games to the PSP that should already be on it but not like Advance Wars, Pokemon and Galatrix to name a few. IDK I really never got into the Stylus, I think its lame and the PSP is just so much sleeker and stylish just in appearance… even the fact you can watch movies on it is rad cos it has very good sound and a huge screen. Really the only thing lacking is a QWERTY slide out keyboard and onboard Bluetooth to allow mice, keyboards and headsets.

    When i extracted the emulator onto the PSP/GAME Folder it comes up on my PSP but when i try to load Mario Kart it just has a white screen and it shuts off. Why?

    My PSP info: slim 5.50 GEN D3

    I downloaded this file and extracted to MS:/PSP/GAME150

    and I try to used this by playing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, and it appears a white screen only after I configure the settings?

    Help me with this one. I think there is something missing in installing this emulator

    okay I know that it sounds pretty stupid but what if we overclocked the psp via the VSH menu then try the DS emu? Idk what actually happens if you were to overclock a psp but if computers are anything like PSPs they cut their lives by alot. Anyone?
