Moving to a Dedicated server

 Update: We are now sitting in a new server. If you can see this then all is ok…

We will be shortly moving this site to a dedicated server.. Our current host didn’t like our 8,000 hits per day (Which by the way is nothing). Because we are “using too much CPU / Memory resources”

Hostmonster.com are fine, but if you run off mostly php and you receive quite a few hits in a short period of time they deliver you with a loving suspended error page CPU USAGE EXCEEDED – ACCOUNT SUSPENDED!………. You can’t use more than 20% of the CPU for more than 40 seconds per minute at a time. On top of that if I did a DB backup or was in the ftp server. Bang another CPU Usage error and the site is suspended no one can enter. I have tried in vain to reduce the queries on the CPU. Hostmonsters customer service team told me i have outgrown them. Also I believe its not just this site but there server seems stressed at the best of times. Anyway so I have forked out and we are off to a dedicated server.

Bottom line, its hard finding a good host!

    In regards to your server troubles try the above website (http://www.hostinsanity.com/) the owner and i are good friends his response to faq and or errors are quick and best of all prices are extremely cheap….so have a look and thank you for helping out on the PSP Scene

    I know, I’m working on that. But this fullyloaded forum is a bitch! The database is so big it always times out on import.

    I’m asking the techs to look into importing this database to our new server. Fullymodded could maybe be the root of all our problems I’m starting to think…….

    Its a nightmare, last server move was silky smooth. No problems. That was with phpbb standard install. This time problems. Big headache. Hopefully it will be fix soon.
