LCFW 6.XX PRO B10 Released

Update: Custom Firmware 6.XX PRO Fix has been released: http://pspslimhacks.com/psp-custom-firmware-6-xx-pro--fix/

Believe it or not, the next revision of PRO is not entitled PRO C but PRO B10 and provides the usual bug fixes over the last revision. Once again a B revision outruns PRO C which is in development since B4. Here is the changelog I found on the internet (it’s translated from Chinese so it’s far from perfect):

  • [!]fix bugs: ISOCache infinite loop、unsupport>2GB ISO,and Need for Speed: Carbon Own The City track disappear
  • [!]ISOCache default 256
  • [!]fix PSPGo ISO VIDEO MOUNT problem in start game
  • [!]fix Recovery menu low probability halt,Recovery menu cpu speed not display 333/166
  • [!]fix problem in ISO file name (thx to popsdeco)
  • [!]fix ISO file size when mounting UMD through USB (thx to neur0ner)
  • [!]optimize order of the patch
  • [!]fix the problem of decryption code
  • [+]reduce FastRecovery file size, speedup fast recovery (thx to neur0ner)
  • [+]support Satelite and Recovery menu translation file, fonts can be changed
  • [+]hold R to disable VSH plugins when start XMB
  • [+]Recovery menu add Delete Hibernation and highlight effect
  • [+]support 2GB~4GB ISO/CSO

Here are some the most frequently asked questions about PRO LCFW:

  • What is LCFW ? LCFW a.k.a Light Custom Firmware is a custom firmware that is stored in the RAM as well as in the Flash0  and when the PSP is completely turned off it gets erased(only from the RAM). It’s the only CFW available for PSP 3000/GO/E1000 and PSP 2000 with TA088v3. It enables you to play PS1 games, PSP iso/cso games and to run homebrews and plugins.
  • Is there a way to make this LCFW permanent? If your PSP supports 6.20 OFW there is so called Permanent Patch that can make the 6.20 Pro B10 permanent and it’s supported by any PSP that supports 6.20 OFW. If you have PSP 1000 or PSP 2000 with non-TA088v3 motherboard you can also install 6.39 Pro B10 or 6.60 Pro B10 and install CIPL. This will make the LCFW full CFW.
  • What is Fast Recovery? After the initial installation of the LCFW there is easier way to turn it on. It’s to run the Fast Recovery.
  • Can I delete the files after the installation? If you have installed 6.20 Pro B10 with a permanent patch  or CIPL you can delete everything. If not than you can delete everything except the Fast Recovery.
  • What PSPs are supported?
  1. 6.20 Pro B10 – 1g,2g,3g,4g,5g,6g,downgraded to 6.20 9g
  2. 6.35 Pro B10 – 1g,2g,3g,4g,5g,6g,7g,9g
  3. 6.39 Pro B10 – 1g,2g,3g,4g,5g,6g,7g,9g
  4. 6.60 Pro B10 – 1g,2g,3g,4g,5g,6g,7g,9g,11g a.k.a PSP E1000( not yet tested )
  • I installed 6.20 Permanent Patch and got a file called vshorig.prx. What to do it? This is file that will help you if something with your PSP went wrong. Copy it somewhere save – on your computer for example.

So How to install 6.XX Pro B10:

  • Install the some of these OFW : 6.20,6.35,6.39,6.60 ( No matter if you downgrade or upgrade or you are on one of them already )
  • Download the version of the LCFW that corresponds to your OFW
  • Unrar both FastRecovery and PROUPDATE folders in PSP/GAME
  • Run the 6.XX PRO UPDATE Icon from Game – Memory Stick
  • You will see black screen like the one below. Hit the X button. When the installation completes hit the X button again.

  • You are now back to the menu with 6.XX Pro B10 installed.

How to install 6.20 Permanent Patch( This works only on 6.20 Pro B10 already installed and enabled) :

  • In the 6.20 Pro B10 archive you will find folder called “620PRO_Permanent”. Copy it in PSP/GAME
  • Run it from Game – Memory Stick on your PSP.( See below )

  • You will see a black screen. Press X on it. Then you will be asked if you want to test the patch. Press X again. ( See below )

  • If your PSP doesn’t crash and goes to the XMB you can proceed with the installation. Otherwise your PSP is not compatible with it and should stop trying to install it.
  • Run the permanent patch again. Hit X again on the first question but this time hit O on the second.
  • Your 6.20 Pro B10 is now permanent. You Will find out that you got a file vshorig.prx in your root directory of the PSP. Copy it somewhere save – for example on your computer. It can help in some cases of brick.

Installing 6.39/6.60 CIPL( This must be installed on 6.39/6.60 Pro B10 and only on PSP 1000 and PSP 2000 with non -TA088v3 motherboard. Otherwise this will cause a brick that can not be fixed.) :

  • You will find a  CIPL_Flasher folder in the 6.39/6.60 Pro B10 archives. Place it in PSP/GAME
  • Run it from Game – Memory Stick ( See Below ).

  •  You will see a black screen as the one below. Hit X and wait the psp to reboot.

  • You now have a permanent 6.39/6.60 PRO B10.

So I have been trying to research and research on how to play ps1 and ps2 games. I have the 6.60 pr b10. I put the ISO in the root of the folder for the ps2 games. For the ps1 games i did a convert to .pbp with psx2psp program and then put it in the psp/games area, And all i get is a black screen, i even tried leaving it for a couple of mins to see if it will boot; nothing. i have tried everything but downgrading it and wanting to avoid that. I do have the seplugins folder in there. I have tried formatting it and re putting it in there. Does it make a difference with what SD card it is? Bc i have a sandisk micro HC but i have the memory stick duo adapter for it.

tl:dr i cant play ps1 or ps2 games and does it matter what card it is ie does it have to be magicgate for it to work?

I’m using PSP 1000 and somehow I’m unable to view my MAC address. There are games that are in Japanese language that I can’t play at all. When I change the system language, I can’t play some of the PS1 and PSP games that are in
    English.

Hello. When I try try to install the CIPL Flasher For PRO-B on 6.60, it says “This installer does not support this model.” I am using a PSP-E1002. Is there any else way to make it permanent?

  • Brandon Vu

So, a while ago, I accidentally updated from 5.03 to 6.30 on my PSP3000 03g (thus ruining my cfw).
I come back 1 or 2 years later and I hear that there’s a cfw available for the 3000, but I found this article to be a bit confusing.
Anyone know if it’s okay to update my PSP3000 03g using the System Update option in the Settings? If not, can someone tell me the way to properly install cfw onto my PSP without bricking it? I wanted to update to 6.35, but I couldn’t find a working link to install the update file (If someone has that, can you upload a private link, maybe Dropbox or GoogleDocs?).

HELP ME IT SAYS THAT CIPL FLASHER IS CORRUPTED AND CANNOT BE LAUNCHED

  • Gamervixen03

Thanks! The update was as easy as a summer morning~ But….

Question: What exactly is the ‘CIPL Flasher’ for exactly? I tried running it on my PSP but it says that I don’t have the right model or something. So its kinda just taking up space. Will I mess anything up terribly if I get rid of it?

do you needto have a M2 memorycard on your psp go to actually play ISO files or can i use the system storage?

  • Bobby AKA BOBCAMO

i’m actually using 2 different Photofast CR-5400 MS’s and they work fine on my PSP 3001 using 6.60 PRO B10 LCFW
you may want to make sure your NOT using any Micro SD under the class speed of 6 (10 being the highest i believe). class 6 means about a minimum of 6MBps transfer or read/write speeds. but i think i’m using mixed one’s so i think the fastest i can go is about 4-7MBps.
    sizes i’m using.
    x2 8GB = 16GB
    x1 8GB + x1 16GB = 24GB
