iR Shell 3.8 Released

Ahman has released a new version of iR Shell thats now compatible with the PSP Slim. If your not sure what iR Shell is a XMB replacement of the default PSP XMB that also adds multi tasking and CPU clock adjustments and Play mp3s etc.

Here is a list of feature highlights. For details, refer to the release note in the archive.

  • Supports the latest M33 firmwares across both Phat & Slim. Slim users can choose among 3.60M33, 3.71M33-1 to 3.71M33-3.
  • PSOne 2-Player Adhoc Support.
  • Introduces a new Context Menu System. Functions (plugins) under context menu will always be available to all file types, similar to the right mouse menu click under Windows.
  • Added a new Multi-tasking PRX Plugin System. This allows user written PRX Plugins for iR Shell to multi-task with another game/app. The included PRX HTML/Text Viewer developed by korDen allows you to view HTML & Text documents while playing games or homebrews..
  • With the help from Dark_AleX, support to M33 & NP9660 No UMD Modes have been added. NetHostFS & UsbHostFS are also available for the No UMD modes.
  • Added support to the latest Popsloader for 3.71M33-3 by Dark_AleX.
  • Allow random start of MP3 for the alarm clock function, so you’ll be greeted with different tunes each morning.
  • Added the options to put your PSP to auto-sleep while idle to save battery.
  • Allows you to press Hot-Key to turn off/on all LEDs. The annonying memory stick or WiFi LEDs will no longer distract you from watching your favorite video/movie.
  • Support TV-Out for Slim via component cable.
  • Added the display of volume bar for PSP main volume in iR Shell.
  • plus numerous bug fixes.

    This is great. Finally iRShell for psp slim. But theres one thing that really pissed me off. The cleaner program deleted everything in the GAME150 folder, as if it assumed I didn’t use it because I have 3.71 M33.

    So.. in other words my gamesaves and roms = all gone. Just a suggestion, the cleaner should ONLY delete iRShell files, and not stuff on my memory stick.

    i am a real nood and i need some EXTREME help. I just got te new psp slim and the version is 3.71. I cant run anything like updates to m33 all it says is the game could not be started 80020148 and where do i put all these things from this download for example the irshell folder and se plugins folder where does that go. I really want to play snes but i cant get my psp slim to run the recovery options mode or whatever it’s call please help someone please.

    Check out the PSP Tutorials section, http://pspslimhacks.com/psp-tutorials/ you might have to reflash M33 3.71. Try the easy installer in the PSP Tutorials section ok.

    Just wondering if you ever modded your psp? You say you have 3.71 is that 3.71M33? cause if you didn’t mod the firmware yet you will never be able to play roms or homebrew. You may have done this already but the way you wrote your comment makes it seem to me that you have not done this yet and if thats the case you have to make a pandora’s battery and make a magic stick out of your memory card. You can get alot of information from here http://forums.maxconsole.net/forumdisplay.php?f=80. I’m not sure if you have to register to view the forum. But if you do have a hacked psp already then i would take information from PSP-fan and you may be able to find the firmware hacking info you need from the link he supplied.

    i need some major help installing this. Is there an easy-installer around for FW 3.71M33-2?
    for future projects make an easy-installer. THERE IS WAAAY too much on this thing i cant figure out where things go
