Install 5.50-GEN-D3 with Recovery Flasher (FW-Pack) *Updated

Updated 17th May: Hellcat has just posted a bug fix to the 5.50 GEN-D3 FW pack. Our download has been updated to this latest release.

Fixes:

- more recent D3 version
- flashing from pre-3.52-M33-4 (like 3.40OE, for example) now no longer breaks VSH menu and recovery menu

Hellcat has come through with his promised recovery flasher add-on pack. So now you can flash directly to 5.50 GEN-D3 with the Recovery Flasher application. No more flashing first to 5.00 M33 then to GEN-D3. Now just go straight over to 5.50 D3 goodness.

As this is an add-on you’ll still need the original application, Recovery flasher (below) Thanks to Skyend for the info. Otherwise we would have missed it!

Lol I remember when I used to downgrade to 4.01 M33-2 then upgrade to 5.00 M33-6 then to 5.50 GEN-D then to D3 for some weird reason.

yah, ive xperinced it to, when upgrading from any lower CFW (4.01 lower) to the latest GEN-D3 updater, everytime u try to update directly to gen-d3 the psp just crashes, so ul resort in updating it 1st to 5.00m33-6(for example only) then run 5.50 gen-d3 updater

i always wondered, what if there was a 5.50 GEN firmware pack for recovery flasher? i wouldn’t have to pandora if there was.

Recovery flasher is really good, but pandora battery is still needed for some users,(for example me, when i got confused and installed gen b2 first instead of gen b from gen a,,, it messed up my psp really bad, so dont try it.

this is pretty neat ! although im using a psp 3000 at the moment. still this is a really great breakthrough for all other psp users.

Whoops, my bad, that comment was supposed to be at the bottom. But while i’m here, psquicker, this will brick your psp if you use it on a 3000 (only for 1000′s and fully hackable 2000′s, and it only works on custom firmwares.

My question is can I change my current running CFW 5.03 Gen-C(Full) to 5.50 Gen-D3? and If so will it brick my PSP?

Depends if your psp is a 1000 or an older 2000 (a TA088v2 or lower motherboard), then it’s safe to use, if it’s a Newer 2000, or 3000 then no, it will brick your psp, use PSPIdent to check if you aren’t sure

no it WILL brick, 5.03 gen-c is basically gen d3 for 3ks so theres no point even if it was possible, other than that 5.03 mhu (via cfwe 3.70) is the only other cfw for your psp but it will require you to patch newer 5.50+ games to run them

this is the wrong spot to ask this, but im having issues on my psp1001 phat. i have 550 gen b2 on it right now. but im having some serious issues with ISO/CSO crashing after a few loading screens. would i be able to put 55- gend3 on my phat 1001 and will it help prevent those annoying crashes. i been trying to play final fantasy dissida and it crashes after i finish a battle or 2. a few other iso’s crashed also. i used M33 driver and Sony driver.

Hey Guyz, I just thought of this,
Having Hellcats flasher modified for HBL on the PSP 3000s and use it to downgrade 6.XX to 5.00 then upgrade to 5.03 then enable ChickHEN R2 for hacking.
But it is too bad that HBL only runs low level homebrew.
What do you think?

Hi i have a problem i have a 1004 and a 2004 with fw 4.05, now neither of them reads any thing from the mem stick thus i cannot access or install any cfw on them leaving me un able to hack can you please assist

Hey Guyz,
I just thought of this,
Having hellcats flasher modified for HBL on the PSP 3000s and use it to downgrade 6.XX to 5.00 OFW then upgrade to 5.03 OFW then enable ChickHEN R2 for hacking.
I know sounds really crazy coz the IPL has to be rewritten for 5.00 OFW and could end up bricking the psp 3000s.
But HBL only runs low level homebrew.
What do you think?
