HostCore 5.50 GEN-D3

HostCore beta2: Stream ISO, music and videos over USB or Wifi.

BuDdA has released a modified version of HostCore for 5.50 GEN-D3, based of the original HostCore from Poison. So you can now stream and play music, videos and ISO’s straight from your XMB. Beta2 has just been released which fixes the wifi connection in PSP-1000′s. There may be some compatibility issues with PSP Slim models.

decided hostcore wouldn’t be hostcore without wifi, so i have gotten it to work with phat. still a few bugs and slim compatibility issues but hopefully will have it fixed with next update.

    Doesn’t CFW allow you to load ISO’s, Play and stream music, and watch video from the XMB anyway? Can’t you do this with OFW already? Maybe I am missing the point of this program. Anyone care to explain?

      Do you know what OFW and CFW are!? Can you tell the difference?!
      OFW – Original FirmWare…. CFW.. Custom FirmWare.

      This homebrew is about you run MUSIC, VIDEO and GAMES(ISO) from your PC…. how?!
      Quite simple… the files will remain on you HD and you PSP will use it through this homebrew and a client running on you PC. Got it?!

      Ohhhhhhh that is much more useful than i thought. So would streaming an ISO through the internet be possible kind of like the way Remote Play works with the PS3?

    I put the prx file in my seplugins folder and added a vsh text line, now what? I opened nethostfs but then nothing else happens. what am I suppose to do? anyone help?

    there really needs to be a better readme.txt file

      whitch CFW version are you using? After adding the text line on your GAME.TXT did you ENABLED it from you recovery menu or vhs menu?

        I’m on 5.50 GEN D3. and I didn’t add the text line to the game.txt file. and yes, I enabled the vsh line in the recovery menu.

    how the hell am i supposed to connect o my PC?
    I have been trying for the past 5 hours and I have not gotten a single god damn clue on how to use this
    I’m using a psp PHAT model, Windows Vista, A belklin Router(not sure if this is whats wrong though), and I cant connect with the usb or Wi-fi methods.
    Help is appreciated.

      Ehergin, I will try it on this weekend…if it get it working…I tell you!
      I´m using PSP2001… Windows 7 and no AcessPoint just my wireless usb card.

    I sorta found out how to get it working. if you google ‘hostcore download’ and go to the qj.net link(it’s the 3rd link from the top). download it, and and put the HostCore folder on the root of your ms, add this line to your vsh.txt file : ms0:/HostCore/hostcore.prx , then you change the values in the config.txt file. the value thing really confused me, so I’m not sure what to do with the values thing.

    I messed with it for like 3 hours and finally got it to play stuff over my wifi. i downloaded hostcore 1.2, put the hostcore folder in the root of your memory stick, add the files from this download, change the conf.txt to point to your computers ip and change the key to activate and also add to vsh.txt and turned it on in the recovery menu. I then made a folder that looked exactly like my ms and named it ms0, inside the iso folder i put all my iso’s. then instead of using the nethost provided i used psphost. i ran psp host and pointed it to the folder ms0 and ran hostcore on the psp while on the music or video icons. you should see the green wifi light flash and stay solid. then just check your games and they should be there. phew! that was a mouthful.

    I expect some but if there aren’t. This is excellent work.

    it seems to have some issues with loading games, once they are loaded they seem to play just fine. movies and music seem to be almost perfect with my setup.
    And the quick key thing threw me off for a bit but it goes like this, where it says quick key and it gives the number inside the quotation marks you put the number of the key you want to use, i have mine set to the L button so i replaced what was in the quotes with 000100 which is the number provided in the conf.txt for the L trigger.

    and also make sure in the conf.txt you replace the ip address in the quotes with your computers ip.
