HEN for Firmware 5.03 Video Proof & Update

I know many of you have been waiting patiently after the news HEN was delayed. Well the latest HEN (homebrew enabler) news has come in the way of a video from Team Typhoon & Davee. These are the guys working on HEN using the 5.03 TIFF exploit uncovered by MaTiAz some weeks earlier. As you can see from he video its coming along nicely. What the video shows us is a PSP-2000 running 5.03 as it soft reboots into a homebrew-capable environment after executing the injected TIFF code.

This video should also silence you non believers I think. HEN is real and not a Hoax. No release date has been set so we just have to wait a little more but it is coming!

Also posted was a recent interview with Project lead Davee on the M for Mature forums.

As far as I know, not at the moment. It seems a lot pf people are focused on the development of HEN. Once HEN gets released, I am sure ISO loader will be in development. Personally, I just want HEN on my PSP =P

Not sure if there will be an ISO loader, personally I’m not worried I think just getting homebrew on TA88v3′s will be the main goal. That opens up PSP-3000′s to a whole range of homebrew games and most importantly emulators.

It does’t work on 5.50, sorry…
if I remember well, this firmware came out only to fix the tiff exploit and make it doesn’t work. OFW 5.50 doesn’t support any tiff picture.

Sorry but it won’t work for Firmware 5.50 Sony patched it that is the reason why they came out with that update.

You must have Firmware 5.03 or lower to make this work.

yep you know thats the probelm of the video -it’s not convincing but to see how the psp is crashing and reboot it self in hen mode is quite convincing for a video .I’m wondering if it’s real and you are at Davee’s place how would you make it more convincing?

it’s a PSP slim in that video.. PSP2003, from UK. They say it is a TA-88v3, so if u really want to doubt u have a lot of reasons.

Those owners of PSP 200X wtih ta088v3 mother board , don’t worry, the HEN will still works on your PSP.. But you have to update your system to 5.02 or 5.03, but 5.02, maybe the safest… But mine? I have 5.03.. And to those people who are asking if we are able to play ISO/CSO, the answer is a big BIG BIG NOOOO… Maybe someday, someone wil revised this HEN and put ISO/CSO loader…

Let’s put it this way. If you visit “Davee and Bubbletune”‘s website,visiting the News Page, you’d find an application named something,I don’t remember which was developed by Davee
The application allows PSP with CFWs to perform an action in which the firmware and the MAC address of the PSP can be changed. Maybe (I say maybe),the vid-creator is simply using that application on his PSP.
But anyway,I think it’s impossible cuz he used the ChickHEN thingy.

So this does not make the iso/cso loader possible? Maybe its just me but being able to play iso/cso games is much more important than homebrew…i mean its much more exciting to me being able to play final fantasy 7 crisis core than playing ff 6 on snes emulator lol. But i guess its also good to be able to run homebrew on my psp-2000

Great news this is! And good job.

For me it doesnt matter if there’s no iso loader. I’m happy just to use homebrew, and if I want to get a great PSP game like Final Fantasy 7: Crisis Core I can actually support the game developers and Sony, and buy it instead of using a “backup”. Actually I have bought it already, and it is Platinum version so it didnt cost THAT much. There are some homebrew apps that adds some really nice features for PSP usage and that’s why I’m waiting for the release.

I love creating turn-based RPGs with strong storylines, and I wonder if there’s any way to create free hb-games for PSP without knowing much about coding(languages). A program similar to RPG Maker maybe?

I just have to say i love homebrew and will be perfectly happy playing them but on the side of all these ppl
saying it must have cso\iso loading capabilities – i must add that its sucky to use isos just so you dont
have to buy games – on the other hand there are ppl like me who only buy games, play them for 5 mins, get sick of them and wait till next paycheck or 2 just too get 1 more – which sucks – too expensive for 5 mins of fun
so there is a good point about using isos but not just to be a cheap ass. I mean even if i could use isos i would still always go back to homebrew stuff in the end!!

Exactly, this is why I rarely buy games. It sucks if you grow tired of them after 5 mins and have paid the full price. But if you don’t know which games are good, watch reviews and then try demos (if available). Anyways, I do like homebrew/emulators

Anyway. I got 100+ games. PSone, PS2, Xbox, Xbox360, NDS, GBA, PC, PSP, Wii, GC. I don’t know much about .iso/.cso, But can you put PS2 .iso’s on your PSP, It would be good to get my Burnout 3 on my PSP. :]

yes, we can run emulators.
also we can use some usefull programs, for example: if u try to watch something on youtube using the original program on psp u can’t, but with homebrew u can be able to.
