Hello World running on PSP Firmware 6.31. Exploit not patched yet

Share

Sony’s recent 6.31 didn’t patch the save game user exploit of Mamosukes, and to prove so he has posted a new video. Again its a run via a secret Japanese game that has a loop-hole that Sony themselves still aren’t aware of. So there is still hope for users on Firmware 6.31 to one day run Half Byte loader and homebew goodness. is also attempting to port Half Byte Loader over to 6.30 & 6.31.

The title of the game is under wraps as to give PSP Go users a chance to get it of PSN before its patch. That is if the name of the PSN game is released. Maybe if and when Sony finally patch it?

Great work Mamosuke!!!

Good news, but in order to use the exploit we have to buy the game :(
    Unless it’s a great game.

    • Ahm3d

you don’t need to buy it !!
you need to find some one he have the game and the license of it
and copy the game in file games and the license in license file.

      • timboy67678

        thats illegal

        and very sad

  • cluzex

    this is good news

i hope they can still hold on their privacey….

  • cy2b

As a PSP go owner I will have to update to 6.31 in order to buy any game to use this exploit.

    • skullos

No, you don’t have to. You can also use an USB-cable and Media Go on your computer.

      • pathfinder

u can also use the ps3 if u have 1

  • Gamble_STARS

Yeah but when they release a download, Sony is going to patch it. God dang it Sony, let us have homebrew, so these “other guys” can stop wasting their life on cracking software that they don’t make millions off of! and that i can play a game online w/o hackers!!!

  • crisiscorex

i heard it will take sony 30 minutes to an hour to remove the game from the psn =”( im most likely going to be at work

    • crisiscorex

      is that true?

      • Fasih

yup, can take even less, it just depend on how soon they find out about it, so basically hiding the name nonsense is all just bull@#$%

imo, just stay up to date on the firmware, HBL sucks.

  • ronelpriela

    good news brothas

  • crisiscorex

i wish they had a release date so we can all stay up or wait till they announce the game and we all go straight to the psn store and buy it then download it before sony patches the game

    RELEASE DATE PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!
(for psp Go owners that is) O_o im not trying to be all greedy and ungrateful but i dont want to miss out on this chance

  • darktech

well, i guess it’s a good thing, for those of us that live in japan XD

  • tn gamisame to 6.30

ll.i only have 6 games for psp all from europe.hope its one of them

  • rocktherollercoaster

say what if one of us sent a false report of which game the exploits in.Then sony might be caught off gaurd when the real game title is released?

    • Keyblade Spirit

I doubt it. They’d probably figure out that it’s incorrect very quickly. For one, they’d test it themselves to be sure. And when the real game name is released, they would figure it out very quickly. What we need is a way to password protect certain news posts so that only members of this site can view them.

      • rocktherollercoaster

I like that idea but whos to say that there arent already people from sony that have a account on here?I hope it takes a while for people from sony to test the games.I say when they release the game title they should say its one of these games and put like 25 different games on here.Although im not sure how they would tell people which is the real game.

      • Keyblade Spirit

Lol, Sony probably has a LOT of people working on finding these exploits. It’d take them less than a day to test 25 games for an exploit. And even so, why would anyone from Sony have an account on a website dedicated to PSP hacking when they can read all the news on it without needing an account? It makes very little business sense to pay someone to have an account on a site where one doesn’t need an account to read what you need to know.

  • tn gamisame to 6.30

does the exploit uses the gamesave data or just the game.in the second case we can download an iso right?????/somebody answer PLEASSEEEEEEEEE.i have ofw 6.31

  • rocktherollercoaster

well you said that we should password protect meaning we need an account to see it.

  • rocktherollercoaster

You guys know how you download official firmware and install it by downloading it on another site?what if we were to find the update in the files of our psp, delete it and install a lower firmware.

    • skullos

That would give us in almost all cases a brick, instead of a hacked psp.

  • del

WHAT WILL I DO IN MY PSP 3000 6.20, MY FRIEND UPDATED IT TO ANOTHER VERSION.. CAN YOU PLEASE HELP ME. THANKS A LOT.

  • Keyblade Spirit

    @DEL
STOP POSTING THE SAME QUESTION! There is nothing that can be done about it right now, so just WAIT until this exploit is released as it inevitably will.

  • pathfinder

i got make some fake expliots post it all over sonys sit e than while the try to patch the fake expliots u let the real 1 out and they will be to busy to notice it

    • Keyblade Spirit

As I said before, Sony is a big company. They’ll blow through your fake exploits like nothing. All I can think of that might take them a while to figure out is spoofing your firmware version and then using a current exploit. But even then they’d figure it out from the lack of SenseMe and the Comic Reader. I say we just give up on exploits until some awesome person figures out a way to make Pandora work for the Slim. There must be some way to gain kernel access that just hasn’t been found yet. Until then, we’ll have to let Sony do what they wish. It’s about the only thing we can do at this point. Custom Firmware 6.WHATEVER will probably also never happen.

At some point 7.00 will be released and again, it’s unrealistic anyone will want to take the time to make a Prometheus patch for it. I hate to say it, but it’s simply unrealistic that this exploit will be released until after it’s been patched, which could take months considering that Sony didn’t patch it in 6.31.

This game has begun to be a lot like Death Note and has lasted for years, but it appears that Kira is as good as caught if you get what I mean. There will always be exploits, but their developers will always be wanting to keep them secret so Sony can’t patch them. Now I’m not going to leave the scene, and by no means do I think we should give up completely, but I will say that it’s just gotten to the point where we can’t win without a Pandoran miracle.

This has been Keyblade Spirit with your daily dose of reality. Sorry if this post seems a little morbid, but it’s the cold truth of the matter.

      • hacktester

        Give it up!
We’re not on a stupid fight with Sony, throwing toys at each other, saying annoying things like ,,OHH So you think youre cool!EAT THIS!”.I think that I speak in the name of everyone when I say that we dont care.If Sony is so crazy about anti-piracy,then its their problem, not our.And anyway,no matter if an awesome person will make a new Pandora Baterry or not,Sony will come with a new model and mostly with a new firmware. This would mostly destroy all the exploits, kernel or not, which are still alive,so…And lol, even if the developers of the exploits will always want to hide them, there will be always leakers,so cheer up! :D

      • Keyblade Spirit

I’m not saying we should give up completely. I’m saying we should give up on trying to get the devs to release these exploits. It’s unrealistic to think that they’ll be released until after they’ve been patched.

Sony’s anti piracy problem IS our problem. If Sony wants to play Near and leave us no room for homebrew of any kind, it’s our job to do nothing in response to their constant firmware updates. That’s about all we can do. If enough people cease to update, then they’ll also stop buying games for the newest firmware version. Sony will be forced to allow official homebrew support in order to keep up their business. It’s like an indirect boycott where we refuse a free firmware update and as a result refuse to buy new games.

And on a new model, that may be, but Sony has already seen what a failure the Go has been on sales considering the amount of UMD exclusive games. So the only way to make a new model is to put a UMD drive back in and add some obligatory feature like a touchscreen keyboard. The more logical move would be to make a new motherboard for the 3000. And even after that, there are still those of us who know not to buy a newer one. We can encourage those buying a PSP for the first time to buy used. As I said above, new firmware will eventually be released anyway and we simply have to not update.

If exploits are leaked that will only make the developers not want to make them. I’m pretty sure that Wololo will be unwilling to make exploits if he doesn’t get the respect of having it kept secret. I’m positive that once Sony finds and patches it in an update he’ll release it.

Maybe I was being a bit morbid, but it’s just realistic if you ask me. At this point I’m still convinced that the best way to do anything is to let Sony do what they will and stand up through passive resistance. It worked for Gandhi and it’ll work for us.

      • hacktester

        So…You say we should do something,doing nothing?xD…

In this case, you and me have similar oppinions, even if they are said in other ways.I also wanted to say that there is nothing to do,just to wait until something ,,cool” comes up.Maybe its just me,but I think that if its not my problem,I just dont do anything about it.Just love my homebrews and they are more than enough to determinate me not to update and buy Sony’s lastest games.

Its obviously that we must not update our firmwares, but I didnt mention that because just as I thought youre not as…poor(not to say something which could block my comment)as the others. Now I understand what you mean. But there’s no way to stop those kids who keep spamming for a release date,no matter how much times we will tell them not to do this.Too bad, most of the PSP users are not enought determinated to leave the PS Store.Im sure that at least 70% of the people weren’t smart enough to remain on FW 6.20(or lower). And that’s the main problem, because theese 70% will ALWAYS buy Sony’s official games, and they are more than enough to keep Sony’s busniess on.

Lol I’m glad I meet someone like you,I’m really tired of people asking ,,Does this work on FW 6.20?” when the title is ,,Exploit released for FW 6.20″ xD

      • Keyblade Spirit

Exactly. If we do nothing and make do with the games and homebrew we have, Sony will eventually have to add homebrew support when new games can no longer be run on our Custom/Exploitable Firmware, the latter of which I’ll call EFW if it again comes up. Once Sony realizes that most PSP users aren’t buying games, they’ll be forced to break down and give us official firmware support.

      • hacktester

100% agree with you.You can also buy old games like GTA:LCS whenever you want from the shop, with media Go or using your PS3.PS1 titles will be always welcome to my MMS Duo too.
But anyway,I think this discussion is going a bit too far.It was nice but lets not make too much off-topic.Its pretty intresting, but its really unrelated to the title.

  • hacktester

Why isnt here any EDIT button…? :( Sorry if my grammar is bad.

  • rocktherollercoaster

hold on you guys.just because we stop updating and dont buy games from sony dosent mean they will lose sales.sony dosent rely on the psp for sales, they make tvs dvd players, bluray players, cameras, music players and even he most popular ps3.so if we dont update granted sony will lose a small sale but theres a possiablity they will just stop with handheld games and they will stop production of the psp and focus more on the ps3.also there are other psp players that dont hack there psp,a buch of people have no idea on what hacking a psp is.So if you really want to hack your psp hope for a miracle or buy a pandora battery and magic memory sitck and downgrade your psp.Think of the ps3 sales on there games to.

    • hacktester

Yeah,I know. What I discussed with Keyblade Spirit was just a nice dream…But they will definitely not stop making portable consoles. As you said it,too many people continue to buy official games or dont even know what a hack is.
But Jesus, lets stop with the off-topic…! I would like to continue this nice discussion too,but this is not the place to do it.

  • http://savalanhost.com homayoun

    i have a PSP 3004 versin 5.51
    how can i crack it????

    • hacktester

      You cant.
Just download the lastest HBL revision and enjoy the homebrews…That’s all you can do.

      • http://savalanhost.com homayoun

        what is HBL?

      • hacktester

Okay…I see you are really new to this.HBL is a Homebrew Loader. It lets you load some of the homebrews and applications, except those like 5.03 GEN-C,Hellcats Recovery, and other things like those. Not all the homebrews are working, but if you google for a compatibility list,I’m sure you’ll find the official site. You can find HBL on this site.Even if R97 is the lastest,I recommend you R96 because its bugs are not as visible as in R97.

    • Keyblade Spirit

Sitting on it the right way usually does the trick. But seriously, you can’t hack it with CFW yet. The most you can do is use HBL like hacktester said.

  • rocktherollercoaster

im going back to the topic here.It says that we have to buy the game.im guessing that the price for it would be around 10-15$.thats enough to buy a pandora battery.for another 15 you can buy the memory stick and downgrade your psp.now im not sayin that 15$ is going to be the price but if it is I say you save up some more money and downgrade.so you get the hbl and cfw.

    • Keyblade Spirit

You don’t have a PSP 3000 do you? Pandoras don’t work on the 3000 or some specific 2000s.

  • rocktherollercoaster

That wouldnt matter to me because i have a psp 1000.btw I looked at how cheap psps are now and there all below 100$.its funny that the psp is only worth 80 when it sold for 250 at ts first release

    • Keyblade Spirit

But it does matter to those people who own 3000s. Some people don’t want to got out and buy another PSP just so they can hack it.

  • eskerine

I have been reading posts about this for a few days and I haven’t quite had my questions answered by what I’m seeing. I suppose I should just ask, specifically.

    I bought a PSP 2000, running 6.31, from a friend.

I understand that with a Pandora Battery, I can “downgrade” my PSP into something that will run “Homebrew” or “HBL.”

I don’t know what homebrew does, or what it means to have homebrew.

All I want to do is use this PSP to play old school roms on. I don’t care about multiplayer, apps, new games, or the internet. I just want:

    ##### *.nes and *.gba #######

That’s it. What are my options? (aside from buying the next PHAT1000 I find running 5 or lower?)

  • jake

i have a psp running on official 6.31 firmware, no magic memory stick or anything like that. can someone give me steps to getting homebrew things on it (i already know the website to get the apps and all) but it wont work. help!
