Half Byte Loader for OFW 6.30 and 6.31 coming soon!

for OFW 6.30 and 6.31 dated!

The dates set, has recently posted on his blog that the exploitable game name and the Half Byte Loader port for Firmwares 6.30 and 6.31 will be released at 2200hrs on the 24th this month. So in two days time. So for those that were silly enough to update from early firmware versions will have a second chance at homebrew.

So far we know the game title is exploitable on versions, US and JPN. Its also on PSN JPN, EUR and US. So the race will be on for PSP Go users on 6.30+ Once the title is named I suggest you grab it asap. No doubt Mr Sony will be watching and will remove any PSP title that has a sudden huge and unexpected increase in downloads.

As always we will keep you posted. I will try and be online 2200 Hrs Japanese time to post it asap or one of our staff will. Or just check J416′s blog.

    The only reason Sony will eliminate the game from PSN is because HBL can lead to a CFW and a ISO loader, that how I know HBL will load ISO’s eventually. Because if it wasn’t for that reason they wouldn’t eliminate the game from PSN because they would be earning money from all those downloads.

      Incorrect, HBL will never lead to custom firmware as its a user mode exploit. Kernel access is needed from an exploit or otherwise for it to lead to CFW.

      An ISO is doub tful, only a bunch of fake attempts at such a thing are on the web. Again they are fakes.If anyone is so desperate for CFW, I suggest (Like I do to everyone) buy yourself a PSP-1000 or PSP-2000 TAv85…..

    The game download won’t be taken down quickly. Mr. Sony wants money, they’l et people exhaust their money first :p

    Also, even if the game is patched, you can buy it, and just replace the EBOOT with an unpatched version (you’ll find one somewhere)

    not that anyone cares to listen. but they did mention that HBL will NEVER support iso’s. just read up on keons loader. it loads iso’s but crashes instanly lol. only 1 or two games have been known to reach the main menu and crash there.

      WOW Does koens loader go that far?!I’d never expected that…Anyway,you actually could play(kinda)ISOs with HBL,and there is alredy one homebrew for this,but you can play only games from 2005,like Ridge Racer 1 and NBA 2K5.You need to extract the boot.bin from the ISO first and then you can play it.However its very hard to find old games like those,so dont bother to search for them.I tried that homebrew and the menu works well,but I dont have any games to test it out.
      Where did you get the information that HBL will never play ISOs,anyway?Its true that HBL cant do it at the moment,but its definitely posible(using a homebrew,obviously).Just look on how one of the enhancements started by m0skit0 looks:

      ,,We can allow homebrews to access HBL internal functions, such as load_module, for example, so people can make advanced homebrews using those functions (like an ISO loader, for example).

        wat homebrew plays isos? :O temme temme temme :D
        althoh by now i have bought 5 umds and i am thinking of even updating to 6.31
        but if there’s even this teeny weeny possiblity of hbl supportin piracy (yup thts wat i call it, and thts hw i intend on using iso loaders as) then i mite reconsider applying the update

        The homebrew which plays old ,,ISOs” its called Wab Launcher(that means that you will NEVER EVER be able to play games such as GoW.Only some games from 2005 are working on this).Wab Launcher 2.5f worked for me,but it is not tested with any game on HBL.Here is a compatibility list:

        Kollon (with UMD in drive)
        Lumines
        Puzzle Bobble (with UMD in drive ?)
        Smart Bomb
        Soukyuu No Fafner
        Word Puzzle Mojipittan
        Ape Escape (Sarugetchu P)
        NBA 2K5
        Twisted Metal Head On
        Puyo Puyo Fever
        Darkstalkers (Vampire Chronicles)
        AI Go
        This is the list of games which work with Wab Launcher.If you will be able to find one of theese games,you need to extract the boot.bin from the ISO and put it in a folder which has 8 characters(8!not 7,nor 9,nor 5,but 8!).

    I Just Hope we can play iso n cso…on 6.20 psp 1000….(Note – I know about the pandora thing….but they are not available where i live…i dont wanna take risks in makin one :( )

    i have a 6.20 psp 3000 and i have no problems with hbl right now but i REALY want to play GoW:GoS so i’ll just wait until november 2 to see if i’m gonna update or not but seeing stuff like this gets my hopes up that if sony drops another update before GoW comes out some one will get Hbl working for it too.

    but just to be safe i’ll get the game of psn the 24th

    Hold the phone, if there is a Homebrew that allows me to convert my battery (normal and pandora), can I use that, then install CFW without the HBL???

      No.That would need to touch flash0(the firmware) which cant be used by HBL.Other than that,I dont even know or/and care if there is a homebrew like that.You can make a Pandora Baterry using your PC,anyway…And Pandora Battery does not work on 3000,Go,and new 2000 models.

        Oh and if you can tell me how you can make a Pandora Battery on your PC without CFW or an hombrew enabled psp, please tell me, im dying to find out because I have a PSP 1000/1001, which is moddable

        Its not just a bunch of homebrews,all having the same system.There are homebrews which are supposed to work only on kernel exploits(like ChickHEN R2),and homebrews which work on both kernel and user mode exploits(like HBL).That is ChickHEN which is shown in the video(DUH!).That homebrew only works on ChickHEN and NOT Half Byte Loader.
        And really,I dont understand how can people have money to buy a PSP(even at second hand),but do not have 25 bucks to buy a Pandora Battery…
        NOTE:You may be able to reach the menu,but when you will try to make your Pandora Battery you will get a nice crash.
