for OFW 6.30 and 6.31 released!

UPDATE: EU versions of the game work too, Both UMD and PSN versions! So good news all round the globe.

*UPDATE* has verified that the exploit (not the port, just the exploit) works in both the US UMD and PSN versions of Hot Shots Gold: Open Tee. I am sure there will be an port to these versions soon, so be sure to purchase your copy before it is removed from the PSN, especially you PSP GO owners. The compatibility list has been updated.

As planned, and have released their port of Wololo’s Half-Byte Loader for official firmware 6.30 and 6.31. They have also posted the name of the game which the exploit requires, which is: Minna no golf (JPN). As for he English titles: (Thanks Wololo for this info) Don’t buy anything just yet till its confirmed the exploit works on the version! Your safest bet is only the Japanese version of the game.

  • Minna no golf portable (JP UMD): Exploitable, runs HBL (J416’s port)
  • Minna no golf portable (JP PSN): Probably exploitable, untested
  • Minna no golf portable 2 (JP UMD): Exploitable, Hello World by Mamosuke
  • Minna no golf portable 2 (JP PSN): Probably exploitable, untested
  • Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee (US UMD & PSN): Exploitable, Hello World by wololo
  • Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee 2 (US UMD): probably exploitable
  • Everybody’s golf (EU UMD & PSN): Exploitable, Hello World by FrEdDy
  • Eveybody’s golf 2 (EU UMD): probably exploitable
  • PSN Versions of all the above: probably exploitable, untested.

Only the Japnese UMD is 100% confirmed as working. We don’t know at this stage if the PSN version works. Try it and let us know? Undoubtedly Sony will pull it off PSN any moment now, so I suggest you get it asap if your PSP GO owner on 6.3x,  ONLY once its confirmed working. Since go owners won’t have access to the UMD version of course….

Sit back and watch too as Amazon and Ebay prices of the Minna no golf UMD  and Hot shots golf will rise to stupid levels. If your not dying to to get hold some homebrew I suggest you wait for the prices to ease off.

    Wow its a bit of a waste. The game was named as its not even confirmed working on the EUR or USA versions…. Ity should have been confirmed yes or no first for all versions. Now its likely to be only for UMD users and for the benefit of Japanese PSP Go users.. No doubt Sony will patch the PSN versions of Hot Shots Golf… If it isn’t already!

    This is great, I hope that eventually, one day they’ll make CFW with the Half Byte Loader. How does Sony patch up their games?

      there will be no cfw through the hbl. cfw requires kernel mode, and the hbl is user mode. as for how sony patches the games, they simply add the game to a blacklist.

    @PSPFan Your so right. Why didn’t they just wait till all versions are confirmed? I’m now on the PSN page for the game and all I have to do is click buy now and download it. What do you think I should do guys?

        Man…Im so desperate…Im on 6.20,but I really want a game which will be released on september.Do you guys think I should update,use this exploit and get that game too,or I should just stay on 6.20 and wait for another demo exploit?

    I know it will never be possable to run iso’s on hbl.
    But will we as pspGo users ever be able to run iso’s on a pspGo at all?

    I have a psp 3000 on 6.31 i downloaded the comfirmed hot shots golf from psn i pasted the exploit in root and the file for hot shots golf and it shows the save data but when i go to the game nothing comes up What Did I Do Wrong PLEASE HELP

    Is the “Hello World” the only thing working on the PSP Go ofw 6.31 using the Hot Shots Golf from the PSN or is there a working HBL version working as well? I got the down load from the PSN this morning and got the “Hello World” exploit working but was wondering if the HBL works and how I might get it to work? Anyone? PSPFAN??? Help :)

      At the moment only the ,,Hello World” is available for the US version of the game.

    1- If it doesn’t open iso (cso) games and no cfw what is it for ?
    2- whats the diffrence between the to games ?
    3- which one is recommended ?
    4- does it work on any umd games that we buy from everywhere ?(i mean the exact games but from different shops)
    5- how do you guarantee that it will be improved ?

      I personally think you guys dont need to waste your time by responding to this kind of qustions… Some questions posted by Parma made me think that we are dealing with a 10 years old kid…I really like responding to questions which have atleast sense and deserve to be answered,but I wont give answers which can be found even by a litle child(I myself knew things like those at the age of 7).

        you know may be i don’t have enough knowledge about psp but what i know is that all of you and even me are wasting our time .
        it will be a good decision to use our psp instead of an mp4 player and buy a hackable xbox to play games …
        the PC that you are using now can be a good game console too .

      1 You can run emulators and all the cool stuff from the homebrew community on it with some really good minigames too, we will probably never be able to run isos, which I don’t mind a lot. The games are mostly cheap, around 10 bucks for an essential game.
      2 + 3 You should better wait a bit and look which one fully works.
      4 Yes it works, only if it’s confirmed tho.
      5 Every now and then there will be an update which is a revision (rev for short)

      I agree with hacktester tho, some people just don’t know how to use google :P

    don’t believe to the hackers. they are paid by sony so they can use them for their own. because someone will release an exploit like this and the patapon and suddenly it will turn out in the scene. in patapon exploit they just give us hope that there will be custom firmware for that. and now a exploit in umd game or downloadable psn games. there will be no more psp custom firmware.

    Hi people… I’m talkin from Brazil… Here the situation is very different. PSP games has a high cost to buy and it is very difficult to get brand new games soon here… About the PSP consoles is the other issue… Lock, Lock, Lock… For example: I have a PSP 3001 Green Metal Gear Peace Walker Edition and I know that is impossible to unlock this gadget… When I put Patapon Exploit some emulators run, but with some gaps or small bugs. I hope a day appear a Custom Firmware for OFW 6.20 or above… So… I have a question: Is this Exploit a door to load CSO or ISO games…? Sorry, but I’m very low profile user… Thanks.

    skullos, i don’t understand something, you said that with the HBL you can run emulators (Sega, Nintendo, Dos, ect.) even if you don’t have CFW. However i also read in some places that you must have CFW to use them. So what’s the deal?

      omg look CFW = Custom firmware where u can do loads of stuff Run Isos, change ur theme to something thats not “sony approved” etc. etc. but with the HBL = Half byte loader or as i like to call it Homebrew loader u can only run hombrew hence why i name it Homebrew Loader but with CFW u can run emulators plus run isos but with the HBL u can only run HOMEBREW (for now) any other questions? :D please hesistate to ask -_-

    so let me get this straight i buy hot shots golf and i can have hbl on 6.31 as good as i do now(currently on 6.20) and i can play online right cuz ive dreamed of playing having hbl and being able to play resistance online plz someone confirm my statement is correct

      no, you cannot play online with the hbl, afaik. plus, you couldnt play resistance online anyway through the hbl.

      no, the hbl will still be updated. for the hbl to be ported to another exploit, certain things need to be modified, like the address where its loaded in memory, etc. but everything else stays the same. so basically any improvements made to the hbl will be available for all exploits, be it patapon 2, this exploit, or any exploits in the future.

    Remember that this forum is also for questions, and if you don’t like them then you can just ignore.

      If you are using the US version,then you cant load emulators at the moment.Only the Hello World is available for the US version,you’ll need the JP version of the game if you want emulators/homebrews.HBL for the US verions of the game is coming soon.
