Gran Turismo PSP Requires Firmware 6.00

Bad news for PSP Custom Firmware owners I’m afraid, as TheSixthAxis has reported that the Gran Turismo UMD / Download requires firmware 6.00. And of course Gran Turismo will only run on Firmware 6.00. So if your on custom firmware, your out of luck. At this stage your forced to upgrade to official firmware 6.00 if you want to play the game on CFW. Also they have reported that PSP GT has no structured career mode, unlike other Gran Turismo titles. I find this strange and a bit disappointing to be honest.

I guess I’ll have to run the update and then Pandora + DCv8 to flash back to CFW to play my homebrew and emulators. That is till PSPGen release 6.00 GEN….(if they do)

    MMMMM,not that bad if you own two psp’s.Well one is my brother’s but he has ofw……….. :) but then again no carrer mode………….I’m dissapointed too.

      I know why the hell wouldn’t they have a carrer mode, Its half of the fun of GT games. Damn, hopefully its not going to kill the game.

    This is some sort of sick joke.I have been waiting for this game for years now.I bought my PSP back when they said this game was coming in 2005.Then a 4 year delay only to get a game with NO career mode….are you Fn kidding me.F U Sony.This is why I have NO guilt about copyright infringement.First I got tired buying games with 300MB of game on a 1.7 GB disc ….now they spend millions hyping this game. everyone who buys it is gonna crap their pants when they see there is no career mode and its all arcade BS. just another over-hyped underdeveloped title from Sony…..weak.

    IMO …all you guys waiting for DA to save you…..wake up…there hasn’t been an update to m33 for at least a year now.developers say “there are no significant changes”….except the fact that 4/5 games coming out now are unplayable…that is pretty Fn huge to most of us….

    CFW is DEAD

        I am thankful every time I use my PSP for what DA has done.he has saved me from being scammed out of hundreds of $ by Sony when they and there game developers put out these garbage titles that dont even use a 1/4 of the UMD space…and still charge my $40 for them. I’m not asking him for jack. he doesn’t owe me anything.If anything I know that we owe him,but by his own statements it would appear that m33 is done. That does suck because we need brilliant developers like him to keep us from getting ripped off. To me what DA did was more than just letting us play homebrew and what not….it was battling the establishment and their profiteering ways. I hope he is not bailing on the fight…especially when he is our General on the front lines.

        My whole angry rant was about the fact that GT will have no career mode….that is weak….All the hype on these “gaming” websites and from sony’s site…and not a mention of no career mode.I was about to get scammed wasting $50 on a game that isn’t even as deep as JetMoto…it even had a career mode. and I had to hear it from pspslimhacks ….was Sony ever going to tell us? hell no…because they will lose profit $ when people find out the game is wack

        He’s saying “there are no significant changes” because THERE IS NO SIGNIFICANT CHANGE… but you have to realize that DA is pointing this out FOR the homebrew community not the plethora of pirates out there. Just for the record Homebrew != Piracy.

        And please don’t even try to defend your piracy. Sony is not the ONLY developer for the PSP. Guess who you’re killing… Sony? Or the game devs?

        are you kidding…how many homebrew apps are stolen from rightful copyright holders? lots of homebrew is piracy too according to the FCC

        don’t shed any tears for Sony …..but I know for a fact that game sales do not hurt their CEO or their boards salary when Sony earns billions in defense contracts for Japan’s weapons systems..by law as a corporation they are required to do one thing…increase value for stockholders…..not necessarily put out quality products

      That’s exactly how I’m feeling. Thumbs up. At least I’m expecting 6.00 gen, but I’m pretty sure that it wont come out too…

      If you approve of copyright infringement so much, why don’t you make your own CFW instead of waiting for DA or GEN to make the first move? Last I checked you had enough of a brain to create your own. :] Possibly even the intelligence, if you tried.

        I’m not waiting for or expecting for anything…if 6.00 comes out…great…if not…so what. I have ALWAYS bought the games I know will give me my $ worth. You guys can bash me all you want…but at least I am honest about the PSP scene. Most homebrew is criminal according to the FCC…all the emulators,CFW, and many of the apps. To the FCC there is little difference between game piracy and application piracy. So you can ride your high horses all the way to federal prison like the rest of the “pirates”

        I have doodled around with OFW 6.00…but I’m not a software programmer. Instead I spent the last 12 years earning Masters in Neuroscience. I understand the anatomy of people…not software.

    I’m pretty sure 6.00 GEN will come out soon. :P They came with 5.50 too so why not 6.00? Everyone wants 6.00 so yeah.. especially since many games now require 6.00.

    Until Sony finds a way to change the hardware of the hackable PSP’s, there’s no limit to using the Pandora+MMS method. As far as the rant by that ungrateful guy goes, Dax owes us nothing. He never had to release his CFW, at all! His whole point was updating it to keep up with new firmware features, not pirated game requirements. As I said on another topic, get a job and buy the games. Use OFW to play them, then flash back to CFW when you need to run homebrew apps. People who complain about not having a new CFW, JUST for the purpose of playing pirated games, are ridiculous. Yes, I play pirated games, too… but I understand that just keeping up with every game that requires a new firmware is not a good enough reason to put forth the effort to make a new CFW time after time. Until a new one does come out, I have no problem paying for a game that I really want to play. I also have no problem switching between OFW and CFW… why? Because I realize how lucky we all are to have ever even had the option of CFW. Stop whining about it, and deal with it. There’s not a single CFW developer that owes us anything.

      first off I’m not ungrateful…I have responded to that guys post calling me such…but it is waiting for moderation.
      As you will read when it is posted…I ask DA for nothing…I expect nothing….I know that we owe him everything. it is a shame that the “leader” of the CFW movement is MIA for the last year now.
      I did buy my games until I realized that Sony was ripping me off by making titles that barely used the 1.7 GB on a UMD but still charging me $40.
      I still buy Madden every year because I know I’ll get my $ worth…I know any Rockstar title will do the same…but as long as game developers keep flooding the market with these garbage half-developed games…I will do what I gotta do…they are just like the music industry…a bunch of profiteers.

    i couldnt care less about a new CFW because i dont play PSP games…at all.
    ,…I mean, why bother when you have 1000′s of classics to play through emulation? I could happily stay on 5.03 cfwenabler for the rest fo my life.

        i woudnt care less as i have never downloaded a psp game before, my only iso is a backup i made of MGS: PO+, which i got WITH my psp…:)

    This sucks! Damn sony. O well. Time to get a new psp and gran turismo, but no career mode is just bs. I don’t want to pay for that crap. Ooo 800 cars, but no career mode stupid polypony digital. All I can say is they better be making it up for GT5 otherwise I’ll go buy a 360 and I supported sony since the first playstation. This is just getting out of hand!

    Well, im playing SoulCaliber Broken Legends on 5.00 m33-6. I guess ill just have to resort to piracy again. I was really looking foreward to buying this one to support developers who make this kind of game…

      thats the problem. they are just encouraging cfw owners to pirate cracked games. then theyll complain about how piracy is so bad and hurting sales…ITS ALL THEIR FAULT
